Hi! love the videos. quick question: im planning on splitting a big room into two smaller ones with a dividing wall and having each room have its own door diagonally (like a “Y” shape) any advise or video similar to that? each room will have its own lights as well!

Hi I just bought your shaker style range hood instructions and never realize that from the wall is 20 3/4 the hood that usually comes in 22 inch so that means it won’t fit do you have plans that will work on a 22 inch hood fan?

Thank you very much! That was taken care of by the range reseller. I believe they brought the ducting down through the top of the hood and then lifting the blower into the hood. Don't quote me on it, but I think that's how they did it.

@@WoodshopMike very interesting. I guess you would have found out if it was a problem. Lol. I’m wanting to make my panels removable because they’re isn’t anyway to do it with fixed pipe and no access. What angle is the hood sloped at? It seems like 22.5 degrees is about right. I don’t think it’s a standard angle so I’m not really sure what to make it.

I bought the instructions on how to build after I received them I noticed it only comes out 20 inches and 3/4 from the wall that doesn’t fit a general fan they usually come 22 1/2 from the wall so this won’t work do you have a resolve thanks

This may seem like a strange question I have under the cabinet microwave that vents outside. The cabinets over the microwave are useless, too high and very shallow. Have you ever built a hood to sit on top of microwave sort of a faux hood! Thank you for your time. Again great job

Hey Ralph. I've not built a hood like that, but there's no reason you couldn't. We have an undercabinet microwave as well, but still wanted to have the storage option. To make it look a bit nicer though I made a new cabinet that's deeper and we mounted it a touch higher. This makes a visual break in the run of cabinets by making the microwave and cabinet stick out a few inches in front of the other cabinets as well as be slightly taller than the surrounding cabinets. Hopefully that makes sense lol! Thank you for your complements, my client was thrilled with the hood!

Thank you very much! I actually modified a couple of their cabinets so the range hood would fit. Splitting the mitered raised panel doors was in interesting challenge lol!

Nope because the hood went all the way to the ceiling and there wouldn't be a way to "hook" it onto the cleat. I had someone help hold the hood and I secured it to the studs.

Thanks for the feedback 👍 FWIW, the materials to build the surround was about $125 because of the maple faced ply. Had I used standard 1/4" paint grade plywood (client changed their mind to paint it after I'd already bought material), the cost would have been around $75. Hope that helps!
