Have to give props to this video, it was my first time disassembling and reassembling a speed cube, and I had zero issues following the tutorial, once again, thank you SCS
Thank you so much for taking the time to really show in great detail how to disassemble and reassemble the cube. All other videos, the person explaining already knows how it works so they tend to rush a lot of parts that aren't obvious the very first time you try it. I think they forget all these little details that you took the time and care to include. Thank you for this video ❤️
Did the upgrade yesterday, and the cube feels great! However, some edge pieces were extremely hard to split, and I ended up breaking 2 pins (on different pieces). They were stuck in their place and could not do anything against it. If you are in the same situatuion, consider that it is not a biggie if one of the 4 pins breaks in an edge, but do consider taking more time trying to resolve the issue with light pulling. If 2 pins seem to be stucked, definitely try to get one of them going before applying brute force.
I'm sat here with mine thinking "pull them gently apart" is complete lies, video evidence here be damned. I've got one piece apart by pulling gently. Everything else is stubborn no matter how gently or hard I pull. ☺🔫
I’m sorry when that happened. The same thing happened to me but only my jperm one and luckily I had a another Rs3m but not a jperm one and swapped the pieces if they got damaged
Just upgraded my MoYu 2020 RS3M with N45 magnets. Was able to do it bec of this video guide. One suggestion, if your center piece caps pops out while putting back the pieces, you can secure it with masking tape. Once done peel it off.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but reading through the comments I noticed that a few people have broken their cubes using this method to disassemble. I would recommend using a screwdriver to remove one of the centre pieces. You can then just lift the top layer off and remove all the pieces without applying any force to the cube.
If you use Roux then medium strength magnets are actually way better, your ring finger gets really sore after doing a lot of M moves on a cube with strong magnets
you have the exact answer to my question here. i have a gts3m, but it is pretty old and starting to feel kinda bad for some reason. is the rs3m better than the gts3m?
Hi! Thank you for this great tutorial video. I am a complete beginner and I am looking to buy the RS3 M 2020 as my first good cube (I only have an old rubiks brand cube, it's terrible!) I live in Canada so I would like to buy all I need in only one order to save money on shipping. I was wondering, do you think the magnets on this cube would be a good strength for a beginner? Or sould I immediately buy magnets for it to make them stronger? I am also looking at lube. I think the galaxy one would be good, but I'm really not sure! Can you help me? Haha thanks!
hello, i might not be the person youre expecting to reply but, yes you should get the extra magnets as it helps with stability and makes it easier to control. also for lubing, you should just get weight 5 silicone lube instead of the drop in lubes. silicone lube gets the job done better and it lasts longer, plus you dont have to put as much. you can watch jperms tutorial on how to lube if you dont know how to, and i think this is a great beginner cube! good luck
I followed the video out of curiosity and turns out I like the weaker magnets better 😅 Stronger magnets made my hands hurt because the cube felt too stiff. Anyways, thank you for the tutorial! Instructions were great 😊
@@joseflindbom7680 4x1.5mm N40 magnets are the perfect magnets to add in the rs3m 2020 because the cube is very stable and you wouldn't feel the magnets while solving.
Imo the magnet strength in the rs3m 2020 setup (the cube in this video) is weak for me so my rs3m is different from this one, mine has 2 n50 magnets and 1 factory magnet in each piece, so 3 magnets each piece. It now feels like a Gan 11 m but more heavy and smoother, i like it but i still main the 11 m, the cube is overall great but not on par as the gan 11. I would recommend this kind of setup, it's great for beginners to pro because of the price and the stableness of the cube, 10/10
What is your opinion on the cube with the magnets installed? Do you prefer with or without the extra magnets? I personally do prefer stronger magnets but I just want your opinion
isn't there a chance that if you drop the cube some of the added magnets will come loose and attach to the other side of the edge pieces? that would be a pain to have to open up the cube again just to put them back to their side
I had all the magnets put in place but sometimes the magnets attract to the other side and so one side has 2 extra magnets while 1 has none. any way to fix this or just an issue that you have to ignore?
I don't know why, but I already got strong magnets (felt enough for me) in my RS3M 2020 and need more guidance on the lubes (We don't get DNM/Martian or similar lubes here in India 😂 ) for improving RS3M performance. Btw I only have MARU right now....
You could buy qiyi m1 lube and weight 5. I've found that when you put weight 5 on the tracks and Qiyi m1 lube on the pieces, it works the best. Of you want a faster cube, put in more m1 than weight 5, if you want a slower cube, put in more weight 5 than m1.
That's because you are a noob that never heard of free browser extension called "Ublock Origin". It shuts down all adds on youtube and everywhere you scroll online. It's free and probably less then 10mb. Just google it and install it.
These only go in the edges. There are already 48 magnets but these just make the 12 weaker magnets in the edges stronger. I was confused a bit as well.
I've done the magnet mod on this cube, and now I'm undoing it. I'm finding that some of the magnets are doubled up on one side. So, expecting them to stay in place from magnetic force alone does not work.
