Adem Hasanovic Because the engine sits on the drive wheels which gives you more traction than almost any other setup with similar power. Porsches are some of the most well balanced and traction enabling cars out there.
Adem Hasanovic more efficient at putting the power down maybe? My two previous cars over 700whp. Mkiv supra then a supercharged s550 mustang. The Porsche seems to move much faster. I’ve raced a built motor supercharged Z06. I put busses on him. My car only makes 550awhp, his 664whp
turbomopie I feel like imports in general tend to be faster when equipped with the same whp. A 400 whp 8th gen civic will crap all over a 400 whp Mustang or Camaro
@@iHaveTheDocuments no he been saying that for ever, this receipt mustang review just reminded me of it. You should listen to his podcast, he really talked about it there. FYI
@@OccupiedBot Perhaps out of the box, but i still prefer the Porsche. And you can make the Turbo S perform as good as the GT-R, but you can't make the GT-R be as reliable as the Porsche, and that, at least to me, counts A LOT. Other than that, it comes down to preference, i like the GT-R too, don't get me wrong, but i think the 911 is cooler, and more visceral, if we can say that to these cars haha.
Ryan yea. My dads friend had a 911 turbo with 530hp. He did some tuning and some jibbba jabba. The before and after was mental. It did 0-60 in 2.3 and pulled alllllotttt harder
The 991 Turbo S is known to run faster than their power output suggests, partly due to the PDK which is lighting fast, and the variable geometry turbochargers with an anti-lag system from factory.
Im generally a rumbly V8 guy but i bought a 2018 turbo s last year. Even though its stock with 580hp its an awesome machine. Way too much fun to drive. Pulls so hard off the line and never seems to have an end to pulling. Even way up at the top. So cool.
I bought a 2018 turbo S. Its stock so 580hp all wheel drive. Its an incredible machine. I also recently supercharged a 2019 mustang gt with a roush 2.65 about 700hp and there is no contest up to 100mph. Up top the 911 would still pull on it but not by much. Ive been so incredibly impressed by this car. The DCT tranny is awesome. For those of you out there who havent driven with that tranny yet and i know we all like rowing thru a manual but wow. Cant wait for the gt500 to come out with the new Tremec. It will be such a different experience. I feel so fortunate that i was able to have this car. For the money and i know its not cheap you cant do better right now. Although im curious to see what the C8 zo6 and zr1 are like. Should be incredible.
🚙🚘🚙🚘 hey David!! I have been watching your channel for a few years and I just wanted to thank you for the mental boost your videos give me!! I am in bed a lot with depression and some difficult health challenges and every time I see a video of yours it makes my days brighter!! Keep up the amazing work and keep being so inspiring!! God bless ya brother!!🙏🏻🚙🚘
Keep fighting the good fight, brother. There is a light at the end of the tunnel if you want it to be. I have suffered from horrendous depression for almost 25 years. If your ever want to chat, hit me up at jleathart@gmail.com. Cheers.
I test drove a 2010 911 turbo s. O M G. 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. After that, my 1989 944 Turbo felt like a dog. I think I'd prefer the Turbo power over the GT3. But for the track, the GT3 is the ultimate.
Porsche has survived on the 911 platform for such a long time. This car has withstood the test of time. Porsche has produced other care like the 944, 928, Panamera and the Cheyenne, which are all awesome cars but the 911 has always outlasted them. This car continues to evolve and continues to be a top benchmark competitor in its class.
porscheG56 Awesome factoid! The 944 turbo made me cum in my pants. Lol. But they for some reason stopped making it and the 911 platform variants are still being sold today.
The Real Bleach I was a passenger in a 2014 GT3 rs once with a professional driver and he about made me shit my pants, and to think I thought I drove like a maniac 😂. Lets just say we hit an off ramp and was headed towards a red light intersection at about 120 mph and when he hit the brakes and rev matched/down shifted, my ears popped.. I flung forward to where the the 6 point harness locked and g forces made me dizzy lol. Awesome experience
The 991 Turbo S was my dream car, I have a 944 and a 3.2 G Series Carrera and lusted for a Turbo S and have been researching them for a long time. I just found my dream car, 2015 White Turbo S with 5K miles and a CPO, purchased a 10 year warranty good to November 2029. This car is flawless, cleaner than when on the showroom floor new. My point is, be patient, get your financing or money in order and stay alert using the various car search engines and you WILL find your dream car, just don’t take your eye off the ball. Best of luck guys, just get one you will not be sorry.
I haven't been in many performance cars, but I have been in the 991.2 Turbo S. The owner took me out in December and it's really just violent how that car accelerates. If I can ever one day afford cars in this category, the Turbo S is somewhere close to the top of my list :)
When buying my 991.2 TTS I drove the GT3 it was fun for the first 10 min’s then it’s harshness settled in that’s why I went with the Turbo S for a better daily drive. Even though a couple of younger family members wanted the GT3 and gave me sh*t.
If you want a car that can hang with just about anything, and be driven almost any day no matter the weather, get a Porsche turbo S!!!! No need to check the weather before opening the garage!!!! Porsche, except no substitute!!!!
Yes. It's the absolute perfect daily driver. I put over 20k on my turbo s last year. I can't help it, the roads where I am, waking up, driving like that just invigorates the day. Straight, turn, doesn't matter it's so amazing all around. Best bang for buck car in the world!
@@992turbos8 It does seem rare. The guys at Porsche always high five guys like us. Man, I understand how deprivation is sometimes a component of discipline but I dont understand how depriving oneself from driving the heck out of a car that was meant to be driven (in every aspect of the word) is living at all. :-)
John, don't know if you'll see this but that is what scares me. I'm considering buying one but I KNOW I won't be able to stop driving it!! I guess you are right, just drive it and enjoy it!
@@brian4544 Life is meant to LIVE :-) I can think of times when discipline, even deprivation of a sort is warranted, this is not one of those cases! Buy the car, drive the heck out of it. that's what its for.
Fully built? I wonder what the owner was going for, the stock motor with the stock turbos can make that power. Even without a real tune, I’ve seen a jb4 make that kind of power
The transmission downshifting and upshifting for no reason over and over was annoying as fuck. No automatic will ever be as satisfying as a proper manual.
I drive a 991 turbo and it's all true. The car is really fast but so controllable and manageable that it's ridiculous. The only problem is the cost of having work done because without a full dealer service history, these cars are worthless since it's the price of the car just to fix it if anything was neglected and went wrong. I done ever want to be without it though...... #mylove
Hey David did you see Adam lz just bought an gt3 rs Porsche never been a big fan of them but after Adam changed out the exhaust system the car is definitely growing on me. RustyinOz
I clearly know I am in the minority, but I cant stand excessive pops. Its like paying for an expensive concert and the singer just starts gargling in the middle of the song. I like to hear the tone of the exhaust much more than anything else.
Joshua Sterling that’s because the exhaust was in sport mode, which dumps excess fuel to make the pops. In normal mode it doesn’t pop unless you do a hard downshift
I just bought a new Turbo S!! It's everything you said and more. I could drive this car all day long and still get the same adrenaline rush as if it were my first drive. Porsche really did it with this car. I wouldn't want anything else, ever! Love my car!
2014 turbo s makes 800hp WHP with just upgrade turbos stock engine stock trans and run 9.5 all day long. If u don't believe go check boostedforward on RU-vid
That car is 03/04 Cobra in AWD! I am going to make it my life mission to buy one and build one like this, I love how people rav about 1200+ hp supra's that can't plant the power to the ground where a car like this is rocket off the line and total beast in high RPM's with half the HP.
Amazing video. I'll never be able to afford one but for 40,000 I can get a used 2009 Corvette ZO6 with under 40,000 miles. 7 litre V8. I prefer the V8 sound and cheaper maintenance.
Key Limepie good luck trying to put all that power down, i’ve had that exact zo6 and i’m telling you it can’t do nothing compared to my 14 turbo. Rear wheel drive won’t cut it if you don’t got the right engineering.
I had a chance to drive a 2012 stock turbo S and holy shit.. that thing had me pinned to my seat on take off and the handling of it was unlike any other car ive driven. Wish I had the money for one, these cars are amazing.
Really doubt this motor is built. There's no reason to. 650hp isn't even scratching the surface of the 9A1. It'll hold over 900hp. There are a few guys like Fadi and Shay making over 800whp on stock motor, trans, wheels running mid-9s@145+mph Quicker and much more brutal than a 720S, with just bolt-ons (and methanol injection for safety, but that's also a bolt-on).
@@ThatDudeinBlue Even at 650whp the PDK isn't overly bothered. You need to get up above 750hp to start having a concern, and really just put a few pieces of hardware from the 991.2 PDK trans in and you're golden.
Although this thing can beat a Ferrari and Lamborghini and still look "normal". This thing has zeroooo sound. Porsche used to have a lot of sound but not today. Here in Germany we say, that Porsche Horsepower are doubled. So 600 HP more like 12000
I have sat in the back seat of a 2005-ish 911 Carrera 4S. I am 6'0. It was an absolute joke, my legs sprawled across the center and the base of my neck to the top of my head craned forward against the C pillar. I loved every second of it.
Porsche's reputation for understating horsepower and/or performance statistics for its cars has been going on for decades. If porsche says the 911 will do 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.....you will be able to achieve it in 3.3 seconds or quicker. They are famous for this as far as I'm concerned. I am guilty of wanting things I can't have so......give me an all wheel drive 911 with the gt3 motor and transmission AND turbos. Lol. It would probably break the space time warp on acceleration.
EVERYBODY REMAIN CALM! WE HAVE THE SITUATION UNDER CONTROL WE WILL BE OUT OF HERE IN A JIFFY! -Who else hates this ad? And who else got it for this video?
I think the DRL's on the 2014+2015's look better than the new ones that look like aftermarket LED strips from Autozone. I like the new tail lights better though. Still sounds horrible.
Man. I launched one of these, upgraded turbos and other stuff to 800hp. 2016 turbo s. Jesus fucking Christ. Lord told me to hang on, cause it was struggling for traction swaying. Only do that if you know power. Cause I underestimated it so bad.
The bad part about a 911 is you can't stop driving these freaking cars, there that much fun, albeit I've never driven the turbo, had a 912 and drove a few 911's, I mean look at this dude, he's intoxicated by the Adrenalin rush of these playful little monsters, ya just got to try one!
turbo lag.....Why put up with that shit? My 10 year old 2008 Scion xb has no turbo lag, my 2 year old 2017 Corvette has instant response and 300lbs of torque at 1000rpm (practically at idle). There's no excuse for lag in today's world when EV cars and Corvette have instant power.
You can treat these cars like a race car or an executive prestige car. They are just so amazing. I beat an 800hp+ Mustang with drag radials again and again at a drag strip and my car had the manuals and the toolkits in it. I filled up at Canadian Tire with 91 octane fuel. Ran 10.68@135.99 in the 1/4 mile. On OEM tires.
@@creedns You are wrong. Stan is a hell of a driver. We ran about 8 times and it was much the same every time, .2-.4 seconds and 7-9mph on every run. I even beat him by .2 seconds with a passenger in my car. His lights were superior to mine on every run and I chased him down.
