Yea I turned it on for a min but was getting some distortion. If you do the new update it take that loud away but gives you a 13 band eq instead of 10. All you have to do this is put each setting on 6 and it’s the same as loud
Was there a protective film on yours out of the box? I had a piece of tape in the top left corner that wasn't attached to anything. It has scratches across the entire front of the screen.
i have an 18 road glide like yours, thinking of upgrading to this unit. with the same speakers did you notice any difference in sound of the bat ?, lowder ?
so I have an question I put this head unit on my roadglide but it's not flush like the oem was? was your this way as well? I have an 2016 harley davidson roadglide
Just got mine today and installed it very easy simple to do but can you show a video on how to change the background like using the USB like picture off the internet?
Nice I got one in Feb for my 15 Ultra and love it. You need to watch Volunteer Audios videos. He has a lot of good info. You have at lest one update to do and it will give you a 13 band eq and few other upgrades. Also I think you forgot the black rubber isolators for you screws which I did also and had to go back in and install them. It doesn't say anything about them in the install manual.
I have a question, in my 2017 Street Glide CVO, if I push the button on the right of the handlebar, on the original screen I see the outside temperature, is this function also available in this new radio?
You find the screw that dropped into the fairing? Something tells me 3 screws are holding it now. Lol On a serious note, the new update includes a 13 band EQ and HD Orange, plus a few more things.
You'll have to keep us posted on "water-proofing" and overall longevity. I've gone through 2 XAV-AX7000 HUs due to water damage. Place I got it from went belly up so I went back to stock. I ride in the rain all the time and the Sony just couldn't handle it.
@@daileyshow8353After watching your video, I checked the specs and found that the Soundstream has an ipx6 weatherproof rating so it shouldn't have any issues. In your video it was hard to tell a difference in volume when you were lowering it. Does the volume control work properly?
Installed in my 2016flhtp great unit. Just the apple and android car play is worth it never mind the power difference. Friends all noticed it on ride and are switching to this unit !!
Does this head unit offer the same functionality as the HD stock one on my 2020 Road Glide Limited? Like TPMS readout, whether EITMs is on or not, time since last service, being able to see fault codes....you know, all that HD crap.
@@daileyshow8353 Rats... a map update through HD is frikkin expensive. I thought I could get around that by using Google Maps and Android Auto. Thanks bud.
Oh yea for one the interface is a lot better. I wanted the apple car play and faster Bluetooth connection I run my radio off my phone a lot and with the factory Harley Gt radio it takes forever to connect. The 350 watt internal amp is definitely an upgrade. The stock radio doesn’t come with rca hook ups for amps you have to buy a converter. Not to mention if you upgrade to the new Harley GTS radio it’s $2000 and this less than half that price.
@@daileyshow8353 I’ve been told that 2018 and earlier stock radios are slow as molasses and this Soundstream is night and day faster. Have you put that radio next to a 2019 and later stock radio w/comparable speakers and ear tested for clarity , loudness and overall better sound than stock? What kind of amp you think n about installing? Thx and you’ve posted a good video here👊
@@neano62 No I have not had it next to the Harley GTS radio but at half the price, bigger amp, EQ and RCA hook ups im sure I would still go with this radio. If I get around a GTS i will check out the differences for sure
@@daileyshow8353 excellent. Post up a video if you can! Can’t get anybody to “Compare” the two side by side , must be a “I can’t” thing cause they don’t wanna stir the pot and loose business 🤷🏻 …
Did you retain all your thumb controls to navigate through the radio or just the volume and skip button? And also what did you use to get the wireless apple carplay?
Boom! Box 6.5GT features a low distortion 25-watt/channel amplifier that has been optimized for great sound in an open-air environment. The result is cleaner, sharper sound at volumes up to 25% louder than previous Original Equipment radios.
freemanscarstereo.com/products/precision-power-hdhu14-hdhu-14hcm?_pos=1&_sid=227461420&_ss=r but they are sold out right now. However volunteeraudio.com/product/soundstream-reserve-hdhu14-replacement-radio-fits-2014-harley-davidson-touring-motorcycles-thumb-control-module-included has them in
I had the GT radio. The newest one is the GTS. If I had the newest I probably wouldn’t have upgraded but the GT takes forever to connect to Bluetooth and with upgrading it makes the whole thing touchscreen so aesthetically it looks better too. Plus it has rca connection so I don’t have to run a splitter off my speaker wire for my amp

The fact that you spent all that money on the road glide and have to upgrade your sound system is beyond me, but you Harley guys continue to get charged Champagne prices and getting beer budget product.
To each his own but a stereo on a motorcycle pretty toolish in my opinion. Before you guys go off, I get the argument. Out in the middle of nowhere listening to your tunes? I get it. For me personally, I prefer the natural sounds around me. Wind and the bike. The guy going down Main St. with his stereo blasting? Dude, stop it. You look like such a tool.
