I bought some new Machines to improve my work and optimize my proces when building guitars.
The Laguna 1412 Bandsaw and 16|32 Supermax Drum-sander might just do that for me.
In this video I unbox, install and test these two machines.

Happy New Year and the best wishes to all!! At the moment I'm working on plans for the coming year and I hope to have some exciting news for you in the near future. Making videos has to stay on the back burner for a little while longer but I do have so more building compilations and videos coming up. Funnily enough I recently upgraded my bandsaw and bought a drum sander and ended up with the same two as you. With regards the opening problem, I leave the part that slides up and down partially down and set the table locking lever at an angle. Doing that means I can open the door without having to undo anything apart from the door catches. It works for me but I have a big dust extractor which I always use. For the drum sander I recommend you buy the in feed and out feed tables, it makes sanding things like bodies far easier as that holds the weight of the body at the ends of travel, they also fold out of the way when not in use to save space.

I've been eyeballing that same bandsaw for a while now along with the comparable Rikon. The Rikon is a little less expensive and 80 lbs less in weight, but the Laguna seems like a better built machine. I'm looking forward to hearing your verdict after a bit of use. If you have room in your shop, I'd keep the smaller bandsaw with a smaller blade and the Laguna with a bigger blade so you don't have to swap all the time. That's what I plan to do with my 10" Rikon when I upgrade to a bigger saw. As always, thank you for the video.

I got an Axminster 14" bandsaw recently based on your good advice on a previous video where I asked what to get. I too struggled with getting it assembled and upright, they're not small ... haha. Congrats on the new equipment Daniel, your workshop is looking fantastic.

Id mod that single door into 2 doors and secretly do away with the unnecessary switch ,just pull the plug when you change blade. Im sure youll get it in tune though.

Congratulations on the new equipment Daniel. Happy New Year. From my experience, you will want to take the time and dial in the drum sander to absolute parallel. It's a tedious process, but well worth the time. These machines will save you a lot of time.
