Upgrade the new version of a great van and a nice organization to fit in the van at the right size of a different mechanics and generation into a popular van always had a good radio to listen while inside the van!

the ere is 2 sets of brown white wires on the stock harness and you cut and splice the two brown wires together and the same with the 2 white wires. This is mic in/out and this will fix the issue and allow sos to still work...
Impressive work!!!I have 2016 Sprinter 3500 Mercedez Van, Can I change to any new touch screen display screen like you did this in video. I know I can not do it. Is there anyone in San Francisco Bay Area who can do this. Thanks
Thanks for the great install video! Getting the backup camera connected was a pain, but I got it working. Are your physical buttons backlit? Mine are not, and I’m not sure if it’s by design or if I missed a connection.
Quick question I have the same 1920 stereo on my van, and thinking to do the same setup as yours. My question is when I put it in reverse the little screen on my rear view mirror doesn’t have guidance lines , does yours? I see that the inav has it was that just automatically on there or does it have to be programmed in? TIA

Specifically, if you’ve been happy with your purchase, and if you’ve encountered any issues. Thanks Ricardo I appreciate it!!! I like it a lot and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than from the dealer. However there are a few things I’d expect to better which I can fix one I have more time. The microphone isn’t good or maybe I hooked it up incorrectly but I have to scream in order for it to pick up my voice. Sometimes car play connection glitches via Bluetooth it’s maybe 1/20 drives but it occurred a few times for me. The volume of CarPlay is lower than the volume of the regular radio, can’t figure out how to fix that. Would I get this again instead of spending the money at the dealer? Yes I would get it again and save the money
@@MathersOnTheMap Thank you for your quick and detailed response. I just had Best buy install a Sony xavax4000 unit which is pretty nice , nothing overly impressive. But I only found out about the unit from 4x4 when I came across your video due to my sos issue. My deadline is the 15 day return policy from Best Buy lol
Good afternoon again some information on the radio install did you change the speakers and if you did what did you change them to? I change mine to JBL GTO629 having a problem with them volume set at 16 starting to get static. The radio company does not know why what are your issues?
Wondering if you could help me out 4 x 4 shop is very slow with emails. It seems like you get one per day. Back to work on this radio after a week off I have the radio fully installed. Thank you very much. Your videos were great. Had absolutely zero issues with any of it. Now is the hard part programming Apple play was simple to get the video for the reverse camera. Took an email got the information from 4 x 4 that was good. Now I am into the GPS setting the time which should be simple or the date have no clue how to do this. Pull the vehicle outside to see if it would hook up the GPS and thought maybe that would set the time I do have Wi-Fi in the shop so we connected it to that and that did not help with the time date temperature Also need to change Fahrenheit to Celsius no issue on how to do that. Wondering if you got a set of instructions with this radio I did not. Thanks again for this long report on the radio. Appreciate any feedback.
Turning off the SOS light will most likely be a dealer reset, possibly a software update too. Online it says there have been issues with the SOS system in the U.S. with vehicles from 2016 until 2021, giving the wrong emergency location (which was not the case with your system obviously LOL) and only a software update will solve that.
Great video! Did you already have the backup camera that displays through the rearview mirror or did you order a new camera with the CarPlay upgrade kit?
Hey!! We are liking it and would switch it out again given the choice between the two! Only thing we don’t like is that the volume adjuster is a button rather than a dial but that’s just us nitpicking haha!
HIi, what is the deal with the handsfree mic ? I installed 3 different mics and it appears there is no noise cancellilaton. Everyone I talk to says it sounds like a jet engine is inside the sprinter. The buttons are really cheap and they do not illuminate. For the money I am going to install a Kenwood and I can actually use the phone and carplay while I am driving as no one can hear me... I wonder why once you installed your you did not give it a fair review? Pro Car Audio installer
Kev random question. But I am looking to live stream an event for our Union event. Can you recommend a device other than a phone to do it? Should I use our RU-vid channel to push it out? Thanks brother.
Hmm that’s a tough one John we never did a live stream. I’m guessing RU-vid would be a good source since it’s Free, I think your phones camera and mic will likely be better than a computer’s webcam? Sorry I’m not too much help here
@@MathersOnTheMap I have not done the modification yet, but the stock radio is terrible for sound quality. I was hoping this radio was an improvement over stock or had more watts per channel. I know the stock speakers are junk too, so I'm curious if changing both is the ticket??
Have the same problem it’s been a year and mentally I can’t deal with it. It has something to do with disconnecting the old microphone which is also why you can’t talk back. Maybe when you fix it you can tell me. Lol
I just spoke to my car stereo guy he says there’s no interface he’s aware of. He says the only way is to hook up the old radio and hide it somewhere. That’s why he does on Volvos. Maybe he’s wrong if you find a way and let me know.
