M.2 (m key) runs on the SATA bus while Nvme run on the PCIx bus (considerably faster then Sata).

Glad it helped! Its a shame a lot of chipsets don't always support NVMe!

There are PCIE NVME drives and SATA NVME SATA M2 is an older tech while the later versions use mini PCIE lanes for a speed boost

Two slots, Max of 32GB : DDR4 2666MT/s Non-ECC Unbuffered SODIMM CL19 2RX8 1.2V 260-pin 8Gbit There is no max capacity SSD, will run any size as long as it's a NVMe M.2 SSD (Highly Recommended) or a 2.5" SSSD

the hard drive you installed its Sata or nvme ? can this system support both? i want to upgrade and not sure exactly what one to get. I do have a NVME drive 250gb now..
@computerspecialist8533
@computerspecialist8533 Год назад
It appears this model only accommodates SATA based M.2 drives. Unfortunately, NVMe drives are not supported by the chipset. If you don't have a drive already, I'd buy whichever is cheaper (M.2 SATA or 2.5" drive) as the speed difference is negligible.
