Yoga With Adriene yesterday I searched for a yoga for upper back as I have been feeling pain there for the past few weeks for the first time in my life. So I got back on the mat (after a gap) & did your two old routines. Today this beauty arrived in my inbox. How perfect! I’ve just done it & my back & my spirit are thanking me. I loved that final forward stretch with the twisted arms it was divine. Thank you so much Adriene - I really needed this on many levels ❤️ X
Adrienne, your closing comment to practice gratitude and especially for ourselves, made me smile. I am grateful for you as well. I recommend you to everyone who is starting or wants to practice. Thank you for your gentle & sound guidance 🙏🏼
Hello Adrienne, Thankfully, I want to share with you that my daughter (22years old ) and I (58 years old) have been doing Yoga with you, since pandemia started in Mexico by the middle of March 2020. We started with your 30 day yoga videos, the first time we finished the sequence of the complete 30 days including Saturdays and Sundays, we felt so successful and grateful to you ( you will never know how much yo have helped to our physical and mental health. We live in Cuernavaca , Morelos, Mexico. After the third month of your 30 days videos, we started to pick a different video for each day, according our necessities as you always say “ listening to the needs of our bodies” , for lower back, for upper back, to relax, to sleep, etc . We do yoga with you every day, now we are doing it from Monday to Friday but if one of us is in pain or in need we do it even on Saturday or Sunday. What you have done putting your videos at no cost and available to everybody no matter where we are. That is the way we found you and you have really reached to us. We love you Adrienne. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXISTING, AND DO WHAT YOU DO. YOU ARE AWSOME. We admire you so much. We sent you our very best wIshes for whatever you need. THANK YOU SOOO SOOOOO MUCH. From Mexico with love.
Yo también soy de México y hoy en especial despues de como 14 hrs de estar sentada haciendo cosas en la compu por la zoom escuela y trabajo, me dolía demasiado la espalda alta y siempre acudir a Adrienne arregla todo 🥰🥰🥰
Not sure who else is going back through Adriene's videos during COVID-19, but if you are - I'm with you. This was a sweet release of tension from working at my desk all day at home, and feeling hunched and worried for my friends and family. Thank you Adriene.
Hi! We are in confinement in France. My high-school daughter is preparing the baccalauréat exam - hours crunched over her desk - and enjoyed together this video for her back pain.
Hi, Here in Belgium I'm working from home as well. I try to do soms asana's every two hours when I'm working... Neck and shoulder relief, breathing the stress away! And every saturday a date with Adriene...
Anyone else here after flow ? 🩵 So grateful to be in a community of so many kind hearted people 💞 Hope you have a beautiful day and wonderful practice ☀️
I was having the worst upper back “tech neck” pain and now I feel significantly better! As someone living in America, Adrienne really is the closest I’ll get to free health care.
Mmmmm sweet yummy back tension relief! Would also love love love a yoga for stressed students video, we spend so much time sitting and hunching and worrying xxx
I think that you need to release your tight hips. Lizard pose, straddle, pigeon poses (lying, sitting, standing), frog, hero pose, happy baby pose, butterfly, reclined butterfly, half butterfly poses all will be perfect for those who spend a great amount of time sitting at a desk + I noticed it’s always good to do these ones at the end of day, as our hips store lots of tension after any difficult day.
This is exactly what my body needed today. Her schedule always seems to be spot on. Thank you all for joining me and Adriene for the creation and time spent.
Feeling absolutely incredible after today’s practice, so proud of myself for continuing yoga after the 30 days and having it permanently as part of my daily routine. I’ve forgotten how much dedication and thought has gone into these older practices, and I’m thrilled to be repeating them. They really target the specific areas the title says. Upper back is now feeling loose and strong at the same time! Much love to my fellow yogis doing the February calendar! ❤ X
February 2, 2024...As an older lady who struggles with occasional back pain, this was such a lovely practice and EXACTLY what I needed today! I will definitely be putting this in my back pocket for future use. Thank you so much Adriene for knowing exactly what we need, Blessings and love to all of you 💌💌
Peace Will! I concur. That was an awesome practice. It's great you're enjoying long distance walking. I thought I would've returned to my run today after a week hiatus from fighting a horrific cold, yet I was too tired after driving back into town last night from visiting my brother for his Born 🎉 Day! How's your friend in, Korea doing and how are you? Well, I have to return to grading. 🦋❤️🦋
I’m back here again Sept 2024. My upper back was very un happy because of working on my van build for the past few days. This was so helpful and much needed. I think I’ll do a little rolling like a ball.
I loved to take time off and do this today! Feels so good after this! Thanks for making these playlists. My goal this yr is to do yoga for my mind and body❤
I woke with upper back pain, because I’ve been oversleeping due to depression. This routine helped my pain and gave me a little lift to get going in my day.
It's so great calling it "upper back love". Thinking in terms of love is so crucial. If you're reading this you have all my love and support, you deserve true fulfilment and peace and I'm sure it's coming to you.
After this practice I've been saying "wow!" all day. I have been dealing with chronic back pain (typically behind one of my shoulderblades) for more than 2.5 years now, and I've done loads of physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, (You name it I've probably tried it) to deal with this pain. At this point in my life it is usually barely noticeable, but I still have my good days and bad days. My back was giving me a lot of grief this morning... I felt like there was a big knot behind my shoulder blade and my first thought was "oh no, not again..." I decided to try this video to help stretch it out, and just... wow. This is a powerful practice for sure. I had to be gentle and slow with myself, listening to my body, and I noticed that many of these poses targeted the exact muscles I have issues with. It was kind of painful at some points in the practice, but with Adriene's help I just breathed through the muscles and asked them to please relax. I am thankful that Adriene constantly reminded me to relax my shoulders, as it is a habit of mine to shrug them up and tense them. I am just so amazed right now because immediately after finishing the practice, my pain dialed down from about a 6/10 to a 2/10. Hours later, it is still feeling much better. Pain is still present but only barely noticeable now. I just had to write this because I have had some relief from my physical therapy exercises, but I have NEVER had such a significant improvement from just 23 minutes of practice. I really felt my heart chakra open up, and I have learned through my healing journey that the key to healing my back pain is keeping my heart chakra open. I think that is part of what was so beneficial about this practice, was that it targeted both physical and spiritual roots of upper back pain. Wow, I am so excited to use this practice whenever my back is giving me a hard time. Thank you so much for this GIFT. I actually have been thinking since this practice that MAYBE with daily yoga, I might someday be pain-free... That might be a bit much to hope for, but I know with certainty now that yoga can make a MAJOR difference in helping me manage chronic pain. THANK YOU.
This was amazing for my shoulders too! I've had hypermobile joints my whole life and chronic shoulder, neck, and upper back pain due to shoulder joint issues (you ever get the tendon snapping against the joint under your shoulder blade?) and holy shit that last stretch with the arm bind is genuinely life changing. My teres muscle is always spasming and this ACTUALLY stretched it. And you know if you engage a muscle in a stretch for long enough you get release from the spasms. Amazing.
@@akankshamishra7785 yoga has been amazing for my chronic shoulder issues, although I personally have found that incorporating specific back strengthening exercises from a physical therapist is the only thing that actually gets at the root of my issues.
I did this practice along the river today and used a tree as "architecture." I'd like to believe the tree enjoyed it just as much as I did! Thanks for a great practice. ❤
2 Feb 2024 - loved this one! I have a sneaking suspicion I shall be returning to this practice often in the future - especially after spending time looking after/carrying around the grandkids like last weekend - it really helped release the tension and build strength. Thank you, Adriene 💕
Thank you Adriene, and Benji. That was such a beautiful yoga practice, and just what me, and my body needed today. I'm loving the February ADMIRE, practice so far can't wait for tomorrow. See you all then, Happy Imbolic for Wiccans like me, and Namaste everyone.🙏❤
Very fine after yesterday's Core Strength Ritual for my 74 years old body and soul doing yoga with you since 2013 almost daily. I share with a loved one
@@magicmarie8403 I wish you could too! She’d be so happy if she did! And on a regular basis. She’d be amazed how much better she could feel. It’s truly amazing.
i’ve realized in this practice, that i don’t feel it in my upper back or traps like adriene said when doing the “threading the needle” pose. i always feel it in my low back and hips more 🤔 maybe because of the wide knees, but it kind of engaged that curiosity; how can i feel it in my upper back body? or, maybe i need it more in the other places? the joy of yoga, it never ends! thank you for these monthly calendars, adriene and team! see you all tomorrow, namaste 🙏🏼 ❤
Felt the same too. Maybe because the muscles in my legs/hips are extra tight and I'm not that flexible. I've noticed though that when I put my arm through and under my sholder in that pose that I put my hand in an angle that went more towards my legs but Adriene puts it more in a straight direction so her hands are closer to her head. (I have no idea if I've explained it in an understandable way, so if not then sorry) I've corrected and then I've felt something in my upper back too... but it was still my hips that felt the strech more.. xD
My 434th YWA on February 25th 2023😍 - one of two done on first day or our own little mixed winter hiking and yoga retreat in Klais near Garmisch-Partenkirchen
This video is superb medicine for a tight shouldered man, who spends his life pushing, pulling and generally having to strain the upper body within his daily work. I also sometimes feel that the shoulders are like armour we wear to combat (wrongfully) the stresses and strains of life. My sincere thanks for the gift of Yoga and the wonderful way in which Adriene reveals its treasures to us. There doesn't seem to be any one who comes close to her.
A someone who sits hunched over a desk for hours at a time this practice is an absolute godsend. I come back to this video regularly and my body is so thankful for the upper back release these movements provide. Thank you Adriene!
I'm back after months of not coming to the mat. Just picked what was on August 30th from the calendar. Thank you for being there for us always and giving so much love to the world through your videos. Hope life rewards you with all the happiness you create in every single one of us ❤
This has saved my neck. I've tried so many contraptions/massages/ot... But it was finding this video that has finally brought me relief. If Adriene ever sees this, thank you so much angel!
Here for February 2023 Align. Yes I’m a bit out of order for the calendar this month but I needed this one today. Feeling like I’m finally starting to be my own yogi and learning to listen to my body more. So grateful for today’s practice and this community. Thank you Adriene for all your gifts. 🙏🏻
Admire - Feb. 2024 getting back into my daily practice feels so good. Thank you Adriene, Benji, and the whole community! Had to switch the playlist around because my back needed some extra TLC today. Sending love & gratitude to all!
Doing this lovely practice on valintines day 2023 , proud to be a single lady, I'm going to treat myself later to a nice coffee and cake, and yes I can buy myself flowers. Thank you Adriene and Benji ❣️
I know am beginning to sound like a broken record but can you blame me. Adriene you truly are Godsend. I only do home workouts so naturally it may take a while to achieve all the muscle definition as the person going to the gym and lifting heavy. My goal in changing to a healthy lifestyle was to be strong, healthy, active and happy. I have achieved strength and endurance mostly through YOGA. I incorporate all I learn from you in my daily life: during my strength workouts - how to breath, endurance, at work...how do I sit, walk...as a mother...chores around the house..am healthy and so happy to be alive and what's more important is that I have learnt to appreciate myself and those around me. I loved today's YOGA class too. Thanks to you lady. Keep it up. Blessings. Love from Germany. 😘
Hmmmm!!😌🌅🌼 Wow that was incredible, so great for back pain relief...I felt deeply well stretched and yeah, a little does go a long way, Ty for the reminder Lady A💫 so happy to be here aligning with you all on Feb Day 27:02:23✅😊👌🏾😌, an 👌🏾🌟 practice, gr8 for back pain I will def. be coming back to.... you'll all enjoy this! Sending a big hug & 🤗🌼🌅💞and hope you all have a lovely week.🙏🏾💛💛
Happy Monday, Simplyyy Fab! I did the yoga pre-run session before a run 🏃🏿♀️ this morning instead. However, I'm considering returning to this later. It's always great to see you. ☺️
@@zuriwilson-seymore8939 👋🏾😄 Likewise beloved wonderful Zuri... Happy Monday eve. to you as well....yes! Me too... awesome b p relief practice. Pre run yoga! I like that one 2, just miss running...Hmmm! Last align 2moro. 🙏🏾💞🌼🦋
Gentle stretching is perfect for winding down the week. First time doig yoga with my son's band practicing downstairs. I added a little shimmy and beat tap to the jazz and blues while doing this yoga. Happy weekend everyone!
I'm a UPS delivery driver who frequently struggles with muscle spasms in the upper back. My problems began in 1991 to 1994 when I was studying for grad school. I'm grateful for this yoga routine which helps me to stretch the muscles that have been strained. Thank you Adriene and Benji for helping those with chronic pain.
Thank you! I’m a 61 year old flutist and teacher. 50 years of holding my arms up makes for sore upper back and neck muscles. These yoga sessions have been excellent for relieving pain.
WElcome to Admire as I set this as my 1st practice Feb 2024 Keep to intentions as i stretch n soothe upper body / back namaste to all practising and may all find ease within
This video just worked a kink out of my back :) I started practicing daily with YWA last January, starting with the 30 day challenge. I completed this January's Flow, and I am staying on the journey. This daily practice is healing, centering, and joy-giving, and I am so grateful for this channel. Thank you, Adriene, for giving this gift to all of us.
I know this is one of your older videos but i just did this for practice and it was INCREDIBLE. The way you talk us through gently and kindly makes me fall in love with yoga even more. I love your videos that are slow and steady because it makes me take notice of my body tension. You are amazing, and thank you!
Admire💝 - February 2024 I’ve never formally followed these monthly calendars before (apart from the January ones) but I’ve decided I’m going to start following them every other day with my others practices in between. Throughout FLOW, not only was I able to reconnect to my inner being and get closer to myself, but also, as during every 30 day journey of yore, to this beautiful wider community of yogis who are so supportive and loving. One of my resolutions/aims for this year is to live in a more purposeful way that serves me and to listen more intently to what my soul is asking for in my day to day life. That could be anything from watching films or tv series that I actually want to watch rather than what I think I should watch, and the same with books, to implementing acts of self-service and care into my daily routine: basically just living in a more intentional way. In reconnecting to my spirit during FLOW, I came to realise actually how much more supported I feel practicing alongside the yoga with Adriene community, and particularly alongside Adriene and Benji, than with any other teacher or group of people. So, in alignment with my resolution for the year, I’ve decided instead of only occasionally practicing with Adriene and you lovely bunch and putting more of my energy and time into other classes that I feel less inclined towards, I’m going to serve myself and continue on my regular practice over here at YWA. It’s a no brainier really and I don’t know why I haven’t thought to do so before. I always leave January with this community feeling so cosmically aligned and in touch with my inner being, surrounded by glowing, positive energy that why would I not want to carry that with me throughout the rest of my year?! I don’t know why it’s taken me 4 years to realise this but I’m here now and I’m excited to continue sharing my practice with this wonderful community🤗❤. Today was a wonderful practice that allowed me to open up my mind and body to the deep admiration I have for myself and make space for more love and respect, recognising the strength it’s taken for me to get where I am today and am continuing to go. I remembered all of my cues from FLOW, looking deeply inside myself with the respect of a love one and without any judgement or negativity. I spoke kindly to myself and enjoyed spending time with me as I tended to my soul, letting the light in. It was like taking myself on a date! And what a bloomin’ good date I was too🥰. A second one is on the cards for sure! Namaste all - it’s nice to be continuing along this path of self love with you all🙏💖 xx
I’ve been suffering for a month with horrible upper back and neck pain with severe tinnitus. All after a bad chiropractic adjustment. Before bed last night I got through half of this video, and I woke up with 50% of the pain and reduced ringing. I may have even gotten 7 whole hours of sleep, which is much more than I’ve been getting recently. The thread the needle with forward arm extension really felt sooo good I did more this morning.
I’m currently a breastfeeding mom and since I started breastfeeding my newborn I started having really bad upper back pain, this yoga routine has helped me so much !!! The relief is amazing. I feel like a brand new. Every single time ❤
Great practice to get back into my yoga routine after a very busy weekend! Thank you all for being here and practising with me today☀Align Day 27, February 2023
This is genuinely the first time I've had upper back relief in the 5 years since my car accident. I'm very new to yoga (2 days into the 30 day challenge) so I thought I was doing it wrong because I'm honestly so stiff. But now I have this unexplainable feeling of relief in my shoulders that I've never felt before! Excited to continue, thank you Adriene for making this so accessible to all ❤️
My mother passed away last week and everyday since a different part of my body cries out for attention. Adriene has a Yoga for every ache and pain, physical and mental. Thank you, Adriene.
Here with February Align. This practice is great any day, but especially useful, I think, to prepare me for shoveling snow tomorrow 😐May have to repeat it tomorrow apres-shovel.
In a lot of pain today, this session left me close to tears. The mind body connection you teach is genuinely so important i havent felt this way after a session ever
SALUTE 🌅 | SEPTEMBER 15, 2024 | I just got to my hotel and wanted to sneak in my mat time before our work event gets started and things get busy. This was the perfect way to recenter and stretch after the flight! 🙏
Peace Cecelia! That's awesome! My husband and I just returned from a couple of nights in a hotel visiting my brother out of state. What kind of work do you do? Have a great week! ☺️

Align day 27. February 2023. Another one I don’t recall doing before! Loved this one. After a day travelling it was great to pay some attention to my back and shoulders.
this was so perfect... my upper back was experiencing stiffness and tightness from sitting so much during this lockdown in california for covid19. probably going to do this routine everyday. thank you!!!
Brilliant yoga practice Adriene, & Benji! I loved it! 'SALUTE ' Day 15 in the books! I love practicing with you both, and everyone in the YWA community, you are all awesome. Before practice I felt stiff, and unmotivated, but now I feel so much more alive. Thank you so much Adriene, for this gift. The gift of yoga is an amazing one, you have truly changed my life, for the better. See you tomorrow morning, Namaste. 🙏🧡🐢
@@fluffyross2297 Bless up, Yogi Sis! It was amazing. I always appreciate this practice. Especially, because my upper back was feeling uneasy from an uncomfortable hotel bed, yet hubby and I are back home now and sleeping like babies. I'm in a vibrant space as I enjoyed yoga practices and meditation this morning and I went on an early afternoon run. Now, I am pumped and ready to grade. I hope it doesn't take too long. How was your weekend and how is your week thus far?
@@zuriwilson-seymore8939 good, I'm glad you had a good yoga practice. Yeah for me it's normally my lower back that suffers, but I did enjoy this practice, it really opened me up. Aww I'm sorry, I know it's horrible when your sleeping, in a different bed. That's one of the things, I hate about holidays. I'm glad your back home, and doing well. I hope your run went well? I always enjoy going for a nice walk, with my music in, I find it always clears my mind. 🎶 Hope the grading goes well? And doesn't take up, to much of your day. My weekends been good thanks, nice and restful how I like it. How has your weekend been? My weeks going good, I'm just working out some stuff in my head, I've got lots to do. Have a good rest of your day, Namaste yogi sis. 🙏🧡
@@fluffyross2297 Thanks for the well wishes! We did not travel for any specific holiday. We traveled to celebrate my brother, Tarik's Born Day with him and more relatives. We had a blast with the exception of the horrible bed. The hotel was beautiful with many amenities, yet the bed was the downfall. I haven't been on a walk in awhile. I enjoy nature, power walks. We have had a lot of rain, so I mainly run on the treadmill. I was sick, so I was on a 7 day hiatus from my run, yet I returned today and it felt great. We ate at some cool places and we enjoy our nieces volleyball game. My brothers son and daughter are smitten with my husband. He's great with kids. We are anticipating the day God blesses us with our own. I'm glad you had a great weekend. I hope you get everything worked out. If you need to chat please know that I'm here for your yogi sis. Well, back to grading.
