I think it's a neat exercise to try and extract Slayer's general philosophy and, thus, the nature of Dandyism from this. "Enjoy the ride, ups and downs" Slayer simply takes life as it comes at him, extracting meaning and enjoyment out of every moment. I suppose being an immortal being, he's lived long enough to outlive any grand goals, any lifelong plans, anything he may have once coveted. His life passed him by, the Assassin's Guild passed him by, but what remained? The current moment - the fresh breeze, the touch of a loved one, the thrill of the fight, a quaint exchange between equals, the intrigue of what may lie out in the world today. Dandyism is a philosophy of retaining one's dignity, agency and sense of adventure no matter the circumstances. It's all a journey that you might as well enjoy, each second - to be savored like a fine liquor.
