When you get to the first weir, you can portage out on the left hand side. The footpath runs along the bank and crosses that bridge just past the weir. Then the footpath runs along the bank all the way up to the next bridge, crosses over and up to the weir.
@@AndysAdventures89 We're local, been in the pub once, wouldn't return. Landlord runs his own boats so draw your own conclusions as to attitude to kayakers. The river beyond the weir is glorious, though with a large two man inflatable we've never even reached the weir.
@@AndysAdventures89 We just walked from Barcombe Mills to the Anchor. At The Anchor there was a couple with paddle boards walking across the footbridge to the other side. They were accosted by one of the pub workers asking if they had parked in the car park (NOT allowed) , then told them they couldn't put into the river from the opposite side. The landlord has big notices everywhere forbidding people to launch even though there are public footpaths.
