Erzya is grammatically strikingly similar to Hungarian, but the numerals in Komi are closer to Hungarian and other Ugric languages

But also very much influenced by Russian (surprise!), especially Komi; though, that could just be the speaker having a thicker Russian accent 🤔.

Sad that the original pronounciations of these languages are gone. Now it pretty much sounds like russian, to a non russian speaker.

The same sad thing happened to the Sorbian language. Now most speakers have a German accent.

You can still find the speakers without Russian accent but they live mostly in villages.
@Maxim97654

actually no. komi&erzya`s phonetic isnt that much russian. if you think so because of finnish phonetic, then youre not quite right. modern finnish language was formed with huge scandinavian influence so finnish isnt so much archaic. however. erzya and komi are more archaic. erzyan has a lot of russian borrowed words, but its okay because finn-ugric languages sometimes lack some vocabulary. prononciation is truly finn-ugric, so thats not quite true. but its true for many other languages, they were russificated with force
@Maxim97654
@Maxim97654 7 месяцев назад
@@utvpoop what do you mean exactly? the accent shown in this video sounds like from native speakers. some erzya people speak erzya with a littile russian accent. though we dont really know real pre-russificated erzya phonetic, the influence isnt really huge as many people used to think

@@Maxim97654 I can speak only for Komi, I heard the Komi villagers and they even speak Russian with some recognisable accent
