They’ll put these games everywhere. Then when they still fail for being mediocre and associated with MS (remember they’ll still “scope” these games for they still need to cover all the dev costs hence the layoffs) then they will shut down studios or sell them back to other companies. Then they’ll exit gaming altogether. They’re done. They realised quickly spending over $70B acquiring these mediocre Publishers was a very bad idea. They want the money back NOW and they don’t have the time nor do they want to put the effort in building their brand and identity again. They killed themselves, GamePass killed Xbox
That'll be the funniest part. When they inevitably fail because of the Game Pass "quality", all these studios will either shutter or go back to 3rd party publishing of some sort. Its as inevitable as what's happening now.

You can't give away your product for damn near free but at the same time, spending billions of dollars off development and acquisitions and expect to make a profit. Honestly it never made sense to put Call of Duty on GamePass because love it or hate it, that shit sells, it would make sense to put the older Call of Duty games on GamePass, nothing to lose there, but not your newer Call of Duty titles.

I tweeted a long time ago that Sony forced Microsoft to torch and tarnish their image for gaming and forced Microsoft to be patient for 10 years. Apple essentially screwed them over as well on their mobile ambition and Android will likely follow. Jim Ryan may have played the executives like a fiddle. I agree with Sick that Sony would follow if the shareholders commanded it. However, I don't think they'd command it. Playstation is about to absorb a huge portion of Xbox base like growing planet. And with this, shift their focus of competition to PC, what Bill Gates originally feared. I keep telling people Sony strategically released to PC during the PS1. And that coincidentally was their first 100m gen. It potentially could be worse this time around because of a Trojan horse called GTA6 and that they have an immeasurable price to power advantage over PC gaming. Theyll absorb more and more of the medium- low end PC gamers which are the overwhelming majority on the PC platform. High end and Ultra end is what the Pro is for that they targeted for as a secondary platform. Sunk costs won't allow them to switch so targeting to be at least a 2nd platform is a promising position. Sony has an Apple like approach to their direct competition. Safari and ITunes is compatible with Windows, yet Microsoft is their direct competitor. Playstation expansion is tied to transmedia as well. Because they're attracting eyes to their IP and possibly their hardware. I gotta say... brilliantly played. They are essentially growing to become truly the Apple/Microsoft of entertainment

I was playing hitman on game pass last week and boom the next day I couldn’t play it because it was removed from gamepas along x with gta v lol that’s the downside of gamepass these games aren’t gonna be on there forever and honestly gamepass is kinda dry if you want to play some older games like the halos and gears and battlefields etc cool but if you want to play new games it’s kinda dry other than starfield redfall and lies of p and the other new games coming out this year but they gonna be on ps5 so I rather just wait and buy them. IDK what sic is saying here. Sony pays a lot of money to GET exclusive content. They aren't about to decide to revive their dying competitor by letting them have their exclusive content
Whether we like it or not, Sick raises some valid points, I mean I never thought I would see the day that PS would put their games on PC, but they did. And while I agree it seems fairly unlikely, especially considering the difference here is that unlike MS, Sony is trying to sell Hardware, and thus Exclusives, even Timed Exclusives are needed to entice people to buy the Hardware, they are a Hardware Company after all, and while I lean mostly on the opposing side of Sick's argument, there's always the possibility that things could change, again I don't think it will happen, but I won't be surprised if it happens maybe 10 years from now.
@@JP_Loco_93 I think people misinterpret Sony and putting games on PC. It's good for the health of multiplayer games. When it comes to their blockbuster AAA games, the ones they do release on PC, there's usually a substantial wait, and the quality of the game isn't much better than the PlayStation version. If it's an older title they'll do a remaster for the console at the same time, to keep the PlayStation version on par with the PC version. So it's more of a carrot on a stick to a PC guy, who spends thousands on a rig. If they get hooked on a franchise, and want to play the sequel on release, they can play it day one at a similar performance, for a relatively small investment for a PC gamer. Especially when you consider Microsoft putting their games day and date, it makes the choice very easy for all the PC gamers that also have a console to choose PlayStation. Wait until GTA comes out. PC dudes will buy consoles for it, as a secondary gaming device. Any software sold strictly on PC is a bonus. Sony isn't stupid
@@JP_Loco_93 Another thing that gets me is people saying Sony game development is too expensive and not sustainable. If they didn't want to make these huge budget games, they wouldn't. PlayStation is the highest performing division in a company that sells almost every kind of consumer electronics on earth. They mustbe doing something right. They take a loss on hardware in the beginning of a generation to get consumers on their platform. Those consumers then, buy 3rd party content, that cost Sony NOTHING to develop, but they get a cut. It's basically free money. Even if they broke even on a handful of games a generation, the fact it brings in so many consumers is value enough. That's worst case scenario, because they do make profit on those games as well, especially by the time they hit PC with the carrot, and the cycle continues
Heres my prediction: Xbox's only positive for its remaining customers is Gamepass and having it's first-party games first. Those games will pop up elsewhere later. They'll try that for a while until they realize (once again) that no one wants an Xbox console and they're losing buckets of first-day sales and they'll just do day-and-date for everybody. I give it another 2-3 years at most.
Sony fans should be worried about their copy-cat platform following Microsoft's suit if this stunt is successful instead of celebrating their demise right now. I would not trust Sony not to engage in this every game, everywhere mess as they have surprised before with their willingness to copy Microsoft's successful practices.
