Urgent manhunt underway for Maine mass shooting suspect

Hundreds of law enforcement officers are urgently searching for the “armed and dangerous” man they say carried out a shooting rampage at a bowling alley and bar in Lewiston, Maine, killing at least 18 people. Lester Holt is reporting on the ground about the manhunt and what we know about the victims.

I understand about the "speedy recovery". I just don't like to see people such as yourself, try to make other people such as the person above, who are pouring their sad heart out for those who have lost and all of us who care and are kind. I don't like to see some critical person who has done absolutely nothing positive here, unlike the person above has, try to make that person (who is human) feel bad. Why don't you take all of this negativity to a therapist and leave the rest of us who love our brothers and sisters in Maine (especially including the person above) alone and away from your negative mouth.

Not that any loss of life under tragic circumstances is to be glazed over. There are conflicting laws at play, 1. HIPPA , drs aren't law enforcement they used to advise courts about cases of unsafe individuals, but HiPPA stopped that 2. Where is the mechanism to connect t the unstable individual to ATF to remove the guns? 3. It's left up to families to remove the firearms and support the person to keep taking medication. 4. America has chosen over and over again to have a insurance run health care system instead of a Dr run system. So 12 days is the avh length of stay per hospitalization for psych patients.

@@LegioIII.This guy Is military. He didn't go back to his house unless he wants a shoot out. He knows how it all works. If he doesn't want to get caught he ran as far from the area as possible. His car was at a boat launch so hopefully he didn't have a way to get away by boat or drown himself and is at the bottom of the waterway.

So sad for everyone affected. Even his own families are victims. I can say when these feelings arise in anyone mind to harm yourself or others walk right into the hospital, the nearest fire station. He was just your typical, law-abiding firearms enthusiast...until he wasn't. There are tens of thousands across this country just like him and most firearms owners don't want any laws on the books to try to stop this from occurring again...and again....and again..... I own firearms. I do want such laws on the books. The Preamble to the Constitution states the intent of the Constitution is to ensure domestic Tranquility and promote the general Welfare of ourselves and our Posterity. Laws allowing the pro-active disarming of persons such as Card seem to me to BE Constitutional. An Amendment should not prevent the goals listed in the Preamble but rather support them.
