Blame that on Def Leppard Hysteria, Whitesnake 87 and the oh so perfect onslaught of hair metal and early urban music. This performance is out of tune pitchy vocals with cracking voices, and that raw honesty that drew us to it. There's still good music, but the industry kills it

I saw them during the World Series of Rock at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in August 1975. On the bill was Rod Stewart and Faces, Uriah Heep, Aerosmith, Blue Öyster Cult and Mahogany Rush. It poured down rain at one point and we got soaked sitting in the infield about 40 foot from the stage. They even turned on the stadium lights to try to dry it out a bit. Great show!

I met them after the show and a couple of us had a drink with front man David Byron at the hotel where they were staying and talked music for a few minutes. Nice guy. Sublime... my favourite line-up of the band as well. First concert was Uriah Heep in November 1973 at Glasgow Apollo, Scotland. The following year, they opened with STEALIN' and the stage was in total darkness with just a couple of small guide lights to get the band on stage. A waterfall of dry ice was pouring across it and right over the front, with Dave Byron sitting cross legged on a monitor at the edge with a single spotlight now on him. First verse was riveting, then came the explosion of sound as the whole band came in and full colour lighting drenched the stage which looked even more amazing. Managed to see this line-up five times, and one more with John Wetton on bass for Return To Fantasy, so this band is held in the highest regard by me forever. I also had the privilege of speaking to Ken Hensley about running with an idea for a film with Uriah Heep songs from the 1972-75 era as the soundtrack, but it never expanded to the point where we felt it could be done properly without a big budget. Ah well... just need to listen to all the records again and imagine the film which is locked safely in my head... lol

Loved that band, even though I wouldn't have known them without my older brothers. Just masterful! Can't anything away from them, eh?

I'm a huge Deep Purple fan, but I did see Uriah Heep twice back those days. They could rock pretty damn good. Enjoy.😁🍺👍

Loved Heep and wished I had seen Gillan with Deep Purple, but at least I managed the BURN concert with Coverdale and Hughes in 1974, and Ronnie James Dio supporting with his band ELF.... great days.

They were the warm-up band for my first concert, 1977 Blue Oyster Cult and Uriah Heep. Fixed in my head forever…

Still have this album on original vinyl. Have Demons and Wizards and Magicians B'day as well. Come to think of it, I have Wonder World too. I don't think Thain played on that one but I could be wrong. I remember the first time I heard Mick play Magician's b'day, I was blown away. Was just learning how to play guitar and it just seemed unreal to make a guitar sound like that. I saw them around 74-75 in Columbia SC and they were great. Man, the 70s was the best time for music, especially as a budding guitarist!

Nobody played like him anywhere anytime - unique singing bass… I know only 2 extraterrestrial musicians in rock - him and B.J. Wilson.

Demons and Wizards was the first LP I ever bought. I was probably 10, played that on an old portable player till the record was so scratched that a quarter couldn't keep the needle down, lol. Memories.

I remember stumbling in drunk and stoned one night, after work at the factory in Chicago, when I was 19, and turning on my little black & white tv and this came on . I turned it up . even on that little tv this blew me away, and I never forgot that . at 70 now, it's a fond memory.
