In this video I'm going to show how coloration of West Saharan spiny-tailed lizards (Uromastyx dispar flavifasciata) change with age. From masking coloration of hatchlings that help them to survive in deserted areas to brightly-colored beautiful strong adult animals. Uromastyx care, little lizard, pet lizard.cute lizard.

Здорово! Спасибо! Очень интересные рептилии и невероятные по окрасам. Малыши очень похожи по окрасу на мелкие камешки)

Thanks for this awesome video! Can you do the same kind of video for an Ocellated Uromastyx? I just got a Year old Uro and would love to see the kind of development to look forward to

What is the size range for around a 4 year old orange banded flavifasciata uromastyx? I read that adults average around 50cm but mine is about 4 years old is mabie about 10 inches in length he eats good his temperatures are correct his lighting is correct but my adult uromastyx geyri have more mass to them than my 4 year old flavifasciata. If you have time to answer my question I want to thank you in advance. God bless🙏🙂

You were saying some can be two times smaller at two years old, can the ones that are two times smaller grow up to be as big as the ones that started out bigger when they are full grown?

Thank you for the question. Yes, those individuals that at certain age are smaller than their siblings, will grow to normal full length of adults if kept in bigger enclosures, individually. The rapid growth speed is usually spontanous and the individuals that were the smallest of all litter can grow rapidly during just 1 year.

@@МарущакОлексій thank you for answering my question 🙏🙂. I was wondering because I have a 2 year old Orange flavifasciata that is smaller it looks similar to the dark one in this video but smaller. I have it by itself in a 40in × 18in × 18in enclosure. Mine was bread from Squamata Concepts in America and someone told me it's blood lines came from you guys originally but I don't know for sure.

@@RossJ316JC That is very possible. However I am not sure I can track all the individuals till the very final customer, but still. We sent them to USA and this is likely to be true. We left one complete litter for breeding in 2019 and even now (3 years) they have difference in size (no health problems, just different growth rates). We hope to introduce them to breeding (at least the biggest ones) on the next year.

Are red banded flavifasciata and white banded flavifasciata the same species the same way red geyri uromastyx and yellow geyri uromastyx are, and can you breed a white flavifasciata with a red flavifasciata like the way people breed a red geyri with yellow a yellow geyri?
@BIONTerrariumCenter

@@BIONTerrariumCenterthank you🙏 have you ever known of or seen a red and a white breed together?
@BIONTerrariumCenter
@BIONTerrariumCenter Год назад
@@RossJ316JC We do not know such cases as most breeders try not to mix the oclors in order to keep the certain coloration line.

@@BIONTerrariumCenterokay thank you. I was wondering because I have a 2020 male Orange banded flavifasciata and I never see any females for sale only the occasional male or unsexed babies or sometimes the occasional white flavifasciata from Desertgemherps and eventually I want to get a female hopefully close to the same age as my male for breeding and thought a white female might be all I fond, but if it's not acceptable to breed different colored flavifasciata together than I will wait for an orange female. Thanks for your help🙏🙂
