The Tahiti players weren't actual professionals. They had day jobs. They played for their country for pride, even though they knew they were gonna lose. After the 1st goal, whenever Uruguay was through, they stopped trying to defend, because they know they will still score.

They let too many passes in and paid dearly for it.almost like their defense gave up after the first goal and with them the whole team.just goes to show, if you wanna be on top, keep pushing and don't stop. Tahiti shouldn't have given up
impressive considering that these players aren't professional footballers. if you assembled a heap of non-footballers and pitied them against a half-decent nation, the final result would likely be something close to triple digits.

Alli en la final se enfrentan contra Tahiti donde Nueva Caledonia pierde no me acuerdo con que resultado pero al Final Tahiti gano esa copa de Naciones de oceania clasificandose asi para la copa Confederaciones disputada en Brasil donde Perderian 1-6 Con Nigeria, 10-0 Con España y 8-0 Con Uruguay recibiendo un total de 24 goles y haciendo solo 1 gol en toda la copa confederaciones

New Zealand should have went to this tournament. Yeah i don't think they would have gone far but they wouldn't embarrass themselves like these guys did.
They are two big and strong teams, if they were weak teams with no tradition it would be shameful, but as this is not the case, it takes away a lot of weight
