As a multi year pilot of almost every version of Thopter Foundry; I find this breakdown fascinating. I am currently running a list similar to this one, leaning heavier on teferis and counter based interaction, while trimming on the saga and forge packages. On the section of potential color additions; there's a couple other conceivable options to consider: If running/splashing red (for engineer): -Ghirapur Aether-Grid is an effective alternate in the 75, both as a way to circumvent activation hate, as well as a way to ensure a same turn kill, upon assembling the combo. The addition of red also allows for sb flexibility to deal with hate in the form of wear/tear and prismatic ending from the board If running/splashing black: Getting access to time sieve and Tezzeret AoB (1-2/ea) allow for flexibility to combo on the former, getting to take infinite turns for the small price of 5 mana w/o an Urza; and an avenue to assembling it on the latter; attached to a win condition if Urza is neutralized.
Great video and breakdown of some of the tricks available when playing the deck! I advocate strongly against The Reality Chip. You almost never actually draw a card off it. Some additional options while building the deck: - Tameshi, Reality Architect is amazing. It rebuys sagas and once you have already played a foundry and sac'ed it, you can play it and get it back in the same turn for 6 mana. Very relevant as most builds don't play actual tutors for foundry any more - Meria, Scholar of Antiquity works as Urza 5-8, which is amazing but the mana is dubious
With infinite damage thru the 2 mana red ascension, and becouse some infinite life vs infinite damage rules, belcher plauer wins Ammi, correct me if im wrong
Technically, you can't have "infinite" life, you have to set a specific amount even if it's 1,000,000,000 life, so "infinite" damage combos can still win.
Yes, but it doesn't have an infinite mana sink ability like Urza does. Now, infinite life and thopters will usually be enough to win the game, but not always. Urza is also a much better card when you -don't- have the combo.
I don’t understand the infinite mana! I generate one blu mana per thopter, but I should pay one mana and sack the sword for another thopter. How would I gain the infinite extra mana?
@@Kakerate2 Yes. They can loop doubled mana rituals and filter from Red -> Green via Manamorphose or Strike It Rich. I have a video on Belcher if you're interested.
