Cyrus, love your vids, just a suggestion for you to consider. It can be distracting when you interject affirmations every few seconds when your guest is speaking with "yes", "that's right", "absolutely" and so forth. It's rather redundant and in my opinion, can interrupt their flow. I found myself wincing during the dozens of times that you "uh-huhed" or made a noise that cut into what your guest was saying. But it's your video and your channel, feel free to ignore my suggestion if you think it's invalid.
What an awesome sponsorship! I was shocked to see someone advertise something personal to them for once lmao. I don't have problems with hair loss but your sponsorship was sort of enjoyable in a way that it cleared up the hair thing lol.
This video is way too short! It’s so refreshing to hear an American military official speaking the truth instead of telling us all of the lies and BS that they have been making up on our medias such as the bullshiot coming from Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NY Times, and all of the US’s other corporate fake news medias!
Exactly what I thought. I worked in an Asian country and had a good relationship with the US ambassador whom I have a huge respect. He was an ex-military man. He told me that the US’s main focus of the collaborative program in the country is security (military). These days you rarely hear news like the US is helping some country in building something, but always joint military exercises.

I'm from Hong Kong and I agree with Colonel Macgregor about how most people felt about the social unrest in 2019. We're truly grateful that Beijing introduced the national security law and restored order and social stability to Hong Kong. Chinese culture values peace and harmony. Nobody wants war, but that doesn't mean we are afraid of warmongers.
Trust me, many Americans feel the same way Col Douglas Macgregor. Sadly, our nation has been hijacked by corrupt politicians on both sides. Love and peace is the only way forward
Taiwan should learn lessons from Ukraine on what happens when US promises support "till the end." Ukraine was once the center of world attention until Oct 7 happened and now, Ukraine has been largely abandoned by the media.
Previously, Japan actually benefited much from Sinocentrism. The Japanese kimono had its origins in the Han Chinese clothing _(Hanfu_ 汉服). Even Japanese _(Kanji_ 漢字) were derived from Chinese characters _(Hanzi)._ The traditional Japanese tea ceremony also had origins in China, even the famous Japanese katana was derived from Tang Dynasty blades coming from China.
The voice of reason and common sense. It's a shame that only a very few are put on this earth with eyes and ears and instinctively know what really needs to be done. Life isn't difficult it's people that make it difficult.
Common sense isn't too common, It's main home is with those that have no axe to grind, and no loyalty to the elites who benefit from conflict. War is big business, peaceful coexistence isn't. Lie's, corruption and lack of respect are the order of the day. The lessons of history need to be remembered.

I’m Irish having lived and worked around the world including China, Europe and USA and presently based in SE Asia. I hope you are correct but I seriously don’t hold out much hope. The basis of Washington’s power is war and sanctions to support the dollar and debt. Unless and until the political system in America is fundamentally changed (and I don’t mean voting Republican versus Democrat), nothing is likely to change. There was a idea the Soviets would invade during the cold war the entire time. I believe this idea is more of a salesman belief to keep funding high for the military industrial complex. It's nothing more than a symptom of greed from the US defense industry who has too much influence on the media.
Nobody wants war indeed, but S.Korea, Japan and Taiwan are occupied by British Colonialists (US and UK). In other words, British pirates control Japanese and Chinese seas. And here's the reason why they do that, half of the world's sea freight transportation is going through these seas, and British pirates collect money for every unsunk ship, they call it "insurance". For the same reason US tried to defeat Vietnam. Ideally, they wanna control and rob the entire world, China, Russia and so on, but they can't, because God doesn't let them do it. For 500 years now they've been trying to get over the world. Started by robbing regular ships at sea and now they've grown to be able to rob entire countries like Iraq, Syria, Libya etc. Everyone in Asia would be very happy if US and UK left Chinese and Japanese seas, but obviously they won't do it unless they are forced to.
America should look at itself and what they are doing to other countries before looking at what other countries are doing. America doesn’t like it that other countries are getting stronger because they want to keep doing what they want without anyone stopping them
I find it difficult to comprehend the emergence of the notion of Hong Kong independence. It strikes me as an incredibly implausible concept. Considering our lack of military, foreign alliances, natural resources, farmland, water, and other essential elements, it seems inconceivable for Hong Kong to sustain itself independently. Our dependence on China for survival is undeniable.
Because you were part of Guangzhou, 广东人 if people in Hong Kong discriminate people in Guangdong, you’re also discriminating yourself. It’s not like British colonized Hong Kong then suddenly you are one of them. That’s the people I met with the colonial mentality, they think that they were “saved” by colonists, unbelievable but sad at the same time.
Agree, follow the trend instead of against it. Chinese should work together and can’t be consumed by the Western anymore. We should settled the issues internally. We don’t need mediators from other place.
A romantic notion does not care about reality. The fact that it is implausible means it will be sustained by a group of people motivated by something other than reason, namely, faith and other associated psychological traits. This makes them very useful for you know who. And I unfortunately had to live through the consequences a few years ago.
It is easier to blame others than to deal with one's own shortcoming. A superior person would have dealt with their (his/her) failure and strive to be a better person. The warring parties should find a solution to peace. Why a non-party to the conflict is allowed to veto the peace deal?
That would mean taking responsibility for one's actions, not going to happen with the current swamp dwellers as that goes completely against their narrative of blaming others for everything and only they have the answers whereas in reality, they are the problem.

As some who was born in Taiwan, and both my grandpa and dad served as KMT official in Taiwan or Republic of China; one thing people need to understand is that Taiwan is still China, or ROC. Back in 1970s when PRC was recognized, ROC wasn’t ejected from UN. It was Chiang Kai Shek withdrew from UN. The reason wasn’t protesting, but he recognized that there is only one China. Taiwanese success was direct result of American support by military aid and favorable trading nation status. Before made in China was a thing, made in Taiwan was every where in America before. America is a big country, but American isn’t a dependable ally. This has been proven, old KMT officials know by experience. Because America is so big, there are many factions too. An American Foreign Service Officer who was stationed in Taiwan Jay Taylor wrote a biography of Chiang, I think people really need to read on what really happened between US and Taiwan. For instance, US State Department tend to favor CPC over KMT. The War department tend to favor KMT, but first American CBI commander, Vinegar Joe hated KMT. Army intelligence, later CIA didn’t like KMT either. It is allegedly the KMT Intelligence Chief Dai Li plane crash was planned by Army Intelligence Chief Bill Donovan. However, US Naval Intelligence had great working relationships with KMT intelligence. It’s been documented that Chinag Kai Shek knew about attack on Pearl Habor, he tried to warn Washington, but they ignored him. Many in Washington didn’t treat KMT with any respect. FDR had personal attachment to China because both his maternal grandfather the Delanos and his wife Eleanor made a fortune by trading with China. Truman didn’t understand anything about China. As many US officials later took office have either never been to China or Taiwan. They have no understanding of the politics and history. All they know is how to play politics in Washington and get their uninformed constituents to bash China for gains. It’s unfortunate.
It's an interesting analysis and you are Taiwanese or at least you say you are The part of it I wonder though is yes Taiwan is part of China but both sides believe they are the legitimate rulers of China after the civil war and after they fled to Taiwan. They were the legitimate government the Taiwanese KMT government I think that's what they were called at the time were the legitimate government of all of China but they got beat up so bad by the Japanese and World war II and then Mao took advantage of their weakness and started the civil war and I think and some of his documents he thanked the Japanese for weekending the KMT they fled to Taiwan and declared themselves the rulers of all of China and both sides declared themselves the rulers of all of China. Of course Taiwan was never strong enough to take China back over but they built a wonderful Democratic independent powerful economic country with its own currency its own passports its own people and culture completely different from mainland China and I've been to both places I've spent quite a bit of time in mainland so I can see the differences and I talked to Taiwanese people on the streets of Taiwan and they don't want to be part of mainland China. But according to China they have no say China will go to war with them if they don't eventually give in to China's demands. That is not ethical and strategically if they took Taiwan it would hurt us in Japan in all of our allies for centuries and the 23 plus million people who live in Taiwan and consider themselves Taiwanese and independent from China would be either killed or enslaved by the Chinese government. We have allies in this area That's why ignoring that conflict or potential conflict is foolish. I understand it cost a lot of money for the US to police the world and I don't like it either but I believe in some ways it's necessary especially in places like Taiwan because of our allies of the Philippines Japan Australia and our agreements to help Taiwan. We do have agreements it doesn't say that we will fight but it doesn't say that we won't fight it's called strategic ambiguity and it's our policy for Taiwan that hey if you attack Taiwan we may fight against you but we will support them with military supplies. Well if China blockades the whole island and does somehow storm able to take one of the beachheads which there are very few they could take and somehow they get enough men up the mountain to invade Taiwan then we do need to stop that. Yes China may not do it but then again they keep saying they're going to do it. They're rhetoric is quite violent and anti-US and their policies are very anti-US like the fact that they steal so much intellectual property from us every year. Yes you could say that's our problem cuz we're too stupid to protect our stuff. But they literally use their government and their military to hack into our civilian companies to steal information they send their smartest students to America to work in our companies and steal information and they use plenty of other strategies too. Why should they treat their customers like that and expect us to continue buying products from them. I agree that we don't want to go to war with them but I think we need enough of a presence there to stop them from taking these places who's to say they would even stop at Taiwan afterwards they would probably take some islands from Japan in Philippines and continue their expansion like the Japanese did especially if no one does anything about it. Taiwan has their right to freedom and independence they don't need to declare it they can just continue living the way it is. But if China decides to invade Taiwan because we show weakness over there it would be very unfortunate for the world in Asia and they could blockade probably most of Asia at that point and they have enough people to potentially do like Japan did and go after Japan and go after Philippines and go after different countries and islands in that region. They do have the potential to do that right now and Taiwan would be a great first step for them. It's not like there's some wonderful countries never done anything bad to their neighbors every neighbor has a dispute with them they stole Tibet militarily from peaceful Buddhist monks they stole the uighur region and have enslaved recently the uighur men and people in their re-education camps and work camps and as well as breaking their agreement with Hong Kong and the UK to let Hong Kong run independently for 50 years. The Chinese government cannot be trusted This guy seems to be more in love with China in my opinion. Although he has some good points

@ColoniaMurder20 A fair point, but we can all certainly see Asia had massive Chinese influence as well as India, and the overall ethnic background across Asia does seem be a majority Chinese origin and mainly Chinese style cooking/customs etc. But certainly India must have had huge influence, not least the invention of Buddhism one of, if not the, main religion. The only exception I have on this one re: Col McG is that Asia never had a problem with China being the big one - they never had any imperial designs on their neighbours nor any wish to subjugate them Just look at how the Ming dynasty treasure fleets conducted themselves, whereas the Japanese were continually raiding the mainland [China & Korea] with numerous imperial expeditions. The exception being Genghis Khan, but that's another story. Ancient China was never bothered about Japan.

Cyrus, much respect to you and Col Macgregor’s open honesty about the world events. You mentioned the U.S. ‘border control’ problem. You said send all the military back to the border …….. I really wish someone has the courage to talk about the real hidden dilemmas. We need the illegal immigrants for cheap labor, for lower food cost, for lower construction cost….. and many more! Company needs them to be profitable! we cannot openly admit these illegal immigrants are sustaining American’s economy! That’s why America cannot build the Wall! (It caused labor shortages, and Biden made ‘open wall’ available and admitting thousands and thousands ‘illegal immigrants’…… ). Wished Government be honest facing the problem and find ways to solve the problem. You cannot hide your head in the sand……forever! One thing, are Americans willing to pay higher prices for everything without illegal immigrants?!
Not just "cheap" labor but also highly educated professionals who came helped build "Great America" in the past several decades, but nowadays these brains are suspected of "aiding their mother countries" by our government due to their ethnic backgrounds and a lot of them left,
I'm all for immigration as I'm a immigrant myself, but not a free for all at the border. People don't realise how much the traffickers start many of these poor immigrants into a world of crime and the dangerous risks they take making the journey. A country with a open border also becomes a hiding place for people escaping justice in their own country. people are coming from all over the world not just central/south america, and at some stage things will get over run and we all lose then.
@twinpole40 You missed my point! Of course, a country needs legally emigrated immigrants. But, U. S. society benefits from these 'illegal' people by the millions. They don't get paid the law required minimum wages, only a couple of dollars for a hard day's work! And the hard, low pay jobs regular Americans do not want to do... they would rather collect social warfare instead!
Hello! It's wide open, free-for-all borders! Practically, there IS no border. ANYONE can come in, no questions asked. Including organized crime gangs, convicted criminals, terrorists, drug cartels, human traffickers, arms traffickers, etc. If immigrants are necessary for American industries, so be it, I don't think anyone has any issue with that. But, no, you don't need ILLEGAL immigrants from God-knows-where. It's just a matter of approving entry only to LEGAL, verified, bona fide immigrants. Is that really so hard to comprehend?
That's awesome Cyrus re: your hair... Good for you! Douglas McGregor is so professional. Last week I met a married couple from Malaysia. Chinese ancestry. They are super folks. She was born and raised in the US and claimed to not know what the Japanese did in China during WW2. I take it at face value.
@@kabysummit5801 I don't know the detail about Japanese military air strikes on China. Japanese Government try to hide those dark history. But I've heard the terrible things Japanese Military did to China such as they beheaded many Chinese people, or Japanese Military had bioweapon lab conducted human experiment on Chinese people. Japanese Military used Korean young women as sex slaves. In spite of those dark history, the most of Chinese and Korean people are nice to me, and I really appreciate their friendliness and kindness. I believe myself, mass murder and genocide are not the answer to end a war. It is not excusable in universal law. I hope you have a nice memory with your Japanese American wife. Happy holiday season!
The real problems are two folds: 1. Companies only care about profits so they ship jobs to low wage countries to maximize profits 2. Politicians don't have the balls to tell companies that a strong nation is more important than profits.
Ronald Reagan started with the “government is the problem” and the idea that a business’s obligation is only to the shareholders and its sole purpose is to produce maximum profit. He reduced taxes, especially business taxes, paralyze the unions, reduced money for social programs, let loose the mentally ill to become homeless, etc. etc. But the people adore Ronald Reagan.
Well Americans have a twisted idea of capitolism . It's not make things ,sell things anymore .. It's all about wallstreet next quarter. Free trade killed usa. The only people who want war is the m.i.c.
It is so obvious that one country prefers economical development and growth via peaceful means, while the other unilaterally prefers to gain power via bullying tactics and through numerous wars.
I am so happy all of those comes together at a perfect time. The next few years are going be very rough for the US economy. I've been looking at good RU-vid channels that explain the Chinese and European macro-economic systems. I've found good ones for the US economy such as Heresy Financial who does a great job at explaining the systems on witch the US economy. If anyone has something similar to other economies that would be really helpful. Sadly I only speak English (and Dutch), I am learning Chinese but I am no-where near the level that I can follow economics.
When colonel said most people in HK don't want this nonsense, he's not entirely correct. At least some of them want to live their lives in 90s, when mainland China was poor and the British left them shxt loads of future money. Back then one HK truck driver could go to Guangdong and spend a little of his salary and find a dozen girls for fun. It was easier for their authority to ask what they want from CN government. The same was true for TW, and they surely wanted to be "part of China". When this is no longer, the independence thing becomes a way to bargain for more privilege, and the majority don't oppose it much, just want to see how it turns out. What disgusts me the most is, some activists label themselves as "liberalist", but what they really want is just a paternal government that lick their boots.
I'm really confused by the Colonel: Where is the border "open"?! I cross the border 5 times a week and can tell you it's either heavily militarized or it's inhospitable desert or mountains that thousands of people die per year trying to traverse. We could build the world's biggest wall but that won't stop people desperately trying to work in the USA. The Colonel needs to use his own logic here. Namely, these problems are the results of the USA's own disastrous foreign policy of sabotaging democracy and installing military dictatorships in countries like Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, etc. for the purposes of extracting resources for higher corporate profits. Then these countries are not allowed to develop. Then they remain poor and ruined so much that the people living in those countries feel they are forced to emigrate to the USA to work to put food in their mouths and to support their families back home. We could militarize the border all we want but until we resolve these deeper issues, nothing will change.
Interestingly, Meloni in Italy said something very similar about the immigrants issue in Europe. She said, stop to ruin the lives of the people in African countries.
The Colonel is correct. We need to pull troops back home and guard our borders, then establish good trade relationships with the rest of the world. When Trump wins a second term, he needs to hire the Colonel as an advisor.
Trump is not a dictator. He was just stirring up the media. He said he would close the border and start drilling for oil on day one. Biden is the dictator, spending money not authorized by Congress, using executive orders to mandate everything from appliances, electric cars, to vaccines.
I am not a fan of the Chinese government, but that is an internal issue for them to sort out, not something the US should intervene in, by no means militarily. On the other hand I am a pretty big fan of Chinese culture and food. I hope in the next election we are collectively smart enough to not vote the oligarch uniparty back into power yet again.
Im Irish. I’m genuinely interested looking in from the outside how you can change this dumb choice of democrat or republican with both being funded by the same sponsors…. How, when the incumbents are paid by the likes of the MIC and the Zionist lobby. How? The world need the USA to fix it’s deplorable political system and to close down its >800 foreign military bases.
To be fair, the government helped lift 800m out of poverty, in 40 years. Yes, some policies are bad. But me personally, i think that they did a crazy job for the people of China. I mean just look at their cities, military build up, tech advancement, space program, green energy, crazy infrastructure and supply chains.
