I love how y'all's voices change when you speak german and when you speak english, that's pretty interesting too!! (my voice does that too, I think) I haven't watched the full video yet but I'm excited because mostly I prefer the British covers but SOMETIMES german covers are pretty cool too??
Just that you don't get confused, she makes a really fun accent in German on porpuse, normally she sounds differently (just normal) so that might be a bit confusing 😅
I usually buy the UK versions aswell xD I do have some German ones that I do prefer but language wise alone I want to read them in the original language :'D I just own both copies of books I loved 😂 like Christina Henry's books have such pretty hardcovers in German with kinda sprayed edges, same with Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, the German hardcovers are just soo pretty but I would never read it in German 😂😂
@@kazreadsbooks I mostly try to read books in their native language (mostly english), but sometimes the german covers are just way better looking, so I'll get them in german and then also read them in german. Sometimes they also don't have the english book I want but they mostly do have it in german, so I just get it in german. That depends on which bookstore I go to and where I'm at atm tho
@@yourlocalgollum Yeah, I just order everything I want to have in the edition I want it in 😂😂 I'm so close to buying my third copy of "The girl who fell beneath the sea" bc I have two stunning hardcovers but the paperback has another color combo which I love but I should read the book first :'D Sometimes I just can't deal with German anymore some translations are just so cringy and weird to read 😂 I'm a bookseller though so I probably do buy more books than the average person xD
I don’t mind people on the covers THAT MUCH unless it’s shirtless men so the German covers of hunger games and shatter me are actually LOWKEY cute. but I love the love hypothesis cover bc it depicts the starting scene and I love Update: was very strongly rooting for Germany and actually liked a lot of the covers 🥲🥲tough judges
i know you’re struggling right now, so i just wanted to say i love you and you bring so much joy to book tube and the world - you’re someone who i watch and genuinely wish i was friends with. anyway sorry if that was too sappy and weird cause i’ve never met you but idk i wanted to say it anyway 🫶🫶
WHY do they always change the title from the English one to ANOTHER ENGLISH ONE like if you’re gonna change it at least translate it??? Or keep it likkkeeee
2 book covers that come to my mind in comparison is 1) Per anhalten durch die galaxies ( The hitchhiking guide through the galaxy ) Which has some really cool yet simple German cover And 2) The Alex versus series by Benedikt jacka , which in German not only has more interesting names ( f.ex. "Das Ritual in London" aka "Cursed ) but the engkish book covers, at least the ones on good reads are just a pure crime against Humanity especially in comparison with the really beautiful German book covers.
my library now has the shatter me series! (In german AND in english, they also both have the us covers!) I wanted to buy the first book today but it was gone already, they only had a weird thin dark blue hardback cover with some swirls. its pretty if you expect an older book, but I just loooove the us covers. (But also, colleen hoover has her entire section of her books in the store now...and there were little girls buying her books and was like nooo)
I mean, yeah...most german covers suck...we know lol I have a question, tho: you said you choose the first "original" covers for the US versions - why didn't you do the same for the german ones?
I would read so many more books that are translated into German if the publishers would just keep the English cover. It’s literally the only reason for me to read them in English because the German covers are often just ugly 😂
