I recently posted a video of my border crossing from the United States into Canada and received a lot of question from individuals with different backgrounds asking whether or not they would be permitted to enter Canada. I thought it would be helpful to make this short tutorial video to help anyone find out whether or not they can enter the country of Canada based on their citizenship, vaccination status and reason for crossing.
To determine whether or not you are allowed to enter Canada, go to: www.canada.ca
-select your language of choice
-click Travel and Tourism
-select COVID-19: Travel, testing and borders
-click on Find out if you can enter Canada
and simply answer the short questionaire

And as of October 1, 2022, the COVID-19 requirements have been discontinued. This includes proof of vaccination and pre-arrival or entry tests. My wife and I were in Canada this week for a few days, and were only asked about the nature and duration of our visit.

Once, was getting ready to travel back to Canada from Newark NJ. Had my passport with me, just examining it. It was stolen while I was eating at a restaurant. Never got a chance to return. :(

Hey seeking some advice if anyone on here is familiar. I'm looking to drive to Toronto from Jersey in a few weeks for a few days. Does my 15 year old need a passport to get into Canada? I know I will need a notarized letter from the other parent giving consent and their contact information and my daughter's birth certificate. Also would love some recommendations on things to do and places to eat. I heard Beaver Tails is a must. If anything. This is a last second spontanious road trip. Looks the page your video is referencing was updated March 17th.

In a previous video you said you had a 10 year restriction, if it has been over 10 years since an oui incident will I need to do any paperwork? Or did they just ask you about it and saw that it was over a decade ago

I’m not an expert on the specifics, but I don’t think you do. I didn’t have to. The video you are referring to that i posted was the first time I crossed after those 10 years. They just brought me in to clear my record. No paper work of any sort.

@@jimzheng5703 if you’re a citizen, they can’t deny entry. That being said, make sure you have documents proving your citizenship.

Not only will the NOT let you in using a passport that has actually expired, they will question and scrutinize a passport which is about to expire within the next six months.

Am travelling dec 3 2023 For the first time to canada, i am a us citizen. Am just visiting a relative, and taking some gifts, IE iphone, gaming pc, toys. Will i be denied? Or do i need to like get a special visa to enter canada

I’m not an immigration officer, but your situation sounds pretty straight forward. As a US citizen, you should be able to get in with your passport.

Firstly, you will need a passport in order to enter Canada, but as an American you do not require a visa. Secondly, make sure you check with the appropriate Canada Customs website to clarify the types of information which they make ask for, including the actual address where you will be staying. Thirdly, if you have receipts for the gifts being imported, bring them in case they may be required.

@@JandoMorales There are no passports which are specific to any particular kind of transportation or entry point. If all you have is a ReadyLane card, then you're not going anywhere.
