@@PelicanGT Bad fire, Stevie's legs were completely on fire whilst getting out of his car before Flo cut out the video, they didn't put it in the highlights. He's in the burn unit at the hospital, should be ok!

@@PelicanGT car caught on fire and so did he. He was almost totally on fire by the time he got out of the car and started rolling on the ground. Bad enough it looked like one of those stunt men who set themselves on fire.

I do not understand why in the US dirt tracks are still being used where their is no catch fencing to contain a car within track limits. The fact that car ended up in an area where vechiles are parked means people could also be in that same area. The fence was wooden with no structural integrity. Imagine the outcome if a person was walking to their vehicle or standing by a vechile You simply don't see dirt tracks like this in Australia and New Zealand due to safety standards. It shows how behind the times US tracks are when it comes to safety infrastructure.

I don’t think you understand how far away that wall is from the racing surface.

When I flipped 6 years ago. If there was a fence/wall where I flipped at. I can promise you, I would not be able to make this comment. I'd be in the dirt. Would've went full speed cage into the fence. Fences are not good all the time. I've seen guys seriously injured or killed by flipping sprint cars and midgets into the fence/wall. We just lost someone last year that went cage first into the fence/wall. He was able to drop some speed, before impact, but still went cage first. Justin was an amazing person, talked to him pretty often when he'd come race at Waynesfield. Without a fence or wall, it lets the car keep flipping and dissipate energy. Simpson even questioned me surviving that wreck after I sent in the head & neck restraint and the 5 point harness in. They said the forces I had to withstand for the cracking of the device and how much the straps stretched was extremely high. Without the wall I flipped over 500ft (150+m) from the race track. If there was a wall there, easily game over.

Even if there was a fence, i feel like that would have done what happened at Bloomington about 5 years ago, i dont think theres any videos, but a car got loose in qualy, bounced off the outside wall, cartwheeled up and over the catch fence and landed in a merch hauler. Sometimes a catch fence just isnt enough for dirt cars
