Although nothing of the 5 solutions solved my USB port problem, I do appreciate you for making this very very informative video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
@@traderden6907 yea i agree with the man here, ive done countless things to fix my ports and nothing has worked, on my computer the ports in the front work while the ones in the back dont, they worked a day ro two ago with no issue just one day they stopped
@@traderden6907 I'm on my laptop. Keyboard is build-in. I'm using Yoga460 with 2 USB port on the right side, and 1 USB port on the left side. The 2 USB ports on the right side is no longer working. It seems turned off and the quick fixed shows on this video did not solve it. That's what I am saying.
Absolutely smashing and straight to the point. The option of disabling Power and Sleep settings was the one I needed. Thank you so much for your great video!
My gaming mouse just stopped working and this video probably just saved me a lot of money. Unchecking the boxes solved my issue. Thank you for helping us out!
DUUUUUUDE, it worked !!!!!! So, I have been using my old iphone as a webcam and recently noticed that the USB that keeps it connected to my laptop keeps connecting and disconnecting until today, it completely stopped working. That USB port didn't recognize anything. And what worked for me was what you explained at 02:00 Thank you so much
#4 worked for me. I tried 1, 2, 3 & 5 first. Finally I decided to try #4 and PRESTO my USB ports are working like they should. This laptop has 2 USB ports. The one closest to me I call USB port 1 and the other one I call USB port 2. USB port 1 would charge these bluetooth headphones I use with this laptop but that was all it would do. When I would plug the dongle of my cordless mouse in it, the mouse wouldn't do anything. Now USB port 1 and USB port 2 are working like they're supposed to. Thank you for making this video. You'll definitely get a like and subscribe from me.
Thank you Sir! Great solutuion. I had my USB ports disabled for a long time and I had the wrong impression that it was a hardware fault! You saved me 2 USB ports!
@@JumonBorthakur-pq5he my ports were dead as in the hardware and you cant replace those as there is a high risk of the motherboard dying on the laptop so in the end I had to buy a nee laptop
OMG OMG OMG I have been struggling with this for one week and not been able to work efficiently without my mouse. The option with uninstalling the USB Hub worked flawlessly. Once I scanned for new hardware changes I heard the windows sound of when the usb is plugged in and I knew instantly I'm BACKKK IN action thank you so much for this video. Very informative in giving multiple options with clear explanation you are sent straight from heaven if you ask me . Thank you Thank you Thank you🙏
I had to buy a PCI card with 5 USB ports. I installed it and prayed the plug & play would actually work. The plug-and-play worked and I plugged the mouse and keyboard into the new USB card...finally an input device. Ultimately, I re-abled the original USB ports and found the offending port that was shutting down the ports and disconnected it.
great video! Today I had an issue, none of my USB ports were working and I thought it is because of my Mouse, but I tried another Mouse and it was not working either. I also tried my graphic tablet and nothing. So I got scared cause none of my USB ports were working. From your solutions the one that worked for me was to disable the option that turns off USB ports when the Laptop is on sleep mode or battery mode. Thanks a lot! 🎉
I did the uninstalling one and reinstalling but I’m on a regular computer not laptop and now my mouse wont work and none of my USB ports will work. help
with my usb ports not workin on my PC it means I no longer have a mouse or keybord working so none of yr tips were helpful and TBH i bet they wont help most people - clickbait.
WTF with all of this videos, you people just do this to gain views. Your title says "usb ports not working on laptop or PC - Windows 10", how the fuck do you want me to fix it using a mouse if my usb ports do not work and I do not have a PS2 mouse or keyboard and by the way my pc does not have PS2 ports. Tell me genius how to do it with our resetting windows or reinstalling windows.
I had the USB port issues. the problem was a flash. It was tiny and as it was forced in, it bent the pins. I took it for repair and the USB ports were replaced. worked perfectly.
My Dell Optiplex 990 has/had 10 usb ports which seemed to stop working singly or in groups. First my mouse stopped having any effect, then my key board - both usbs. When I started to look at your tutorials, the monitor went black and stayed there. The monitor connector is HDMI and the PC connector is Display Port. They are connected by an adaptor marked 4K. The mouse, monitor (HDMI), and keyboard all work on my Chromebook. I haven’t figured out how to test the monitor adapter yet. Regarding the version of Windows 10, I think I have done at least one update but don’t know when or what its designation was. Has my PC just converted itself to a large paperweight with lots of memory, SDD drive, and TB hard drive?
I tried the uninstall and reinstall on my all in one desktop pc (Not a laptop). The only connection to for keyboard and mouse is through the USP ports. I followed the instructions to uninstall both ports. As soon as I uninstalled the USBs, I no longer was able to communicate with the computer by mouse or keyboard and had no way to reinstall the ports. I now have to take the computer to the shop. This was simply the case of sitting on the branch you are about to cut off. Please update your instructions so no one else gets stuck like this. Edward
@@rvmanian4721 same with me. I used f2 on boot and then restored Windows to a backup point. It's actually absurd that he doesn't explain in the video the possibillity of this happening...
This has to be the single most helpful video on the internet ever. The second fix was mine but all of these were so straight to the point yet thoroughly explained in what each method was doing and why it could work. I cannot thank you enough for this video. All four of my usb ports weren't working and you basically just saved my entire laptop. Thank you!
How could you get your mouse worked after uninstall USB Root Hub? My desktop USB ports totally not responding after that. I have my wireless mouse & keyboard response lag only when my hard drive and one of my flash drive plugged. Actually this problem is more complex, but it happen in very certain condition (when those drive plugged and not happened in wired mouse & keyboard).
After uninstalling the USB Root and your keyboard and mouse doesn't work anymore, the next thing you can do is to reset or re-start your machine. Long press the power button to turn off, or reset button for desktop.
@@elisabetta7918 go to bios setting and sleect advance then go to the usb option. and disable everything almost 3 options here. then save and restart it. if didn't work. then enable all again. now it's work.. this is working for me
I recently bought laptop and it's work fine. few days ago it has problem with one usb port.it's not respond to mouse or key bored but for pen drive and external hard disk work finely . I Tried several issue fix methods but did not succeed. What is the problem
This is what exactly happened to me. I bought new leptop 3 days ago and now this same issue happened it supports pendrive but not supporting keyboard and mouse. Can u please help me out How did u encountered this problem
@@gadgetvision888 s bro I did I literally watched so many videos on youtube nothing worked. I Jst updated all my drivers and most importantly UPDATED MY WINDOWS. Hope u fix your issue. Btw it's a small bug so it's cool
Another problem is that although the ports work now, the usb connection seems unstable as it keeps connecting and disconnecting randomly. Why is it like that and is there a way to fix it? Thank you.
Awsum,,,, Bundle of thanks Bro. 2nd Option the Power Management.... i just do as you told in the video.. and my USB are working now... Thanks ALoooooooootttttttt... it worked.
I have a USB hub that is doing this. It isn't working to uncheck the the root hubs. I even unchecked the same box on the USB hub. It's a brand new Aukey drive. The USB ports alone don't ever sleep, but with the hub plugged in it sleeps. ☹️
Great video, unfortunately the solutions presented here did not resolve the issue with my laptop mouse and a USB flash drive. Bizarrely, simply using different ports for the same two devices did fortunately resolve the issue. cheers! JB
In the 4th method, i uninstalled the usb driver and then when i clicked scan for hardware changes, i did not see the driver. Is there any solution to this???
Hi, I kind of need some help on my computer's USB port because I was having some problems. After watching your video I accidentally deleted both the USB port 3.0 and now I can't even login to desktop because none of the USB port is working. Both key board and mouse can't be used because it can't recognized. Can you help me resolve this issue? I don't want to over do things trying to fix it myself and make things worth.
Hi, first thanks for your video.. Please help if you can this is similar problem but I can solve it. I have a problem with my HP Elite X2 USB type A disconnecting and reconnecting every few seconds when USB external hard disc are plugged in or wireless mouse etc. Everything is OK and working when the device is plugged in on charger. Thanks.
Thanks! My roothub was suddenly disabled for some reason! No option for power, but a quick review in Properties and I noticed there’s a checkbox to enable/disable this device (usb drive). Thank you! You’ve saved me twice!
None of mine worked, but just the update got them working. But I also changed the power controls for the USB. Thanks so much for the video, it worked!!!
I've tried every fix and nothing works. its not the device or cable because it doesnt matter what i plug in. if i have it in half way it can work but one nudge and it turns off. Everything is updated, drivers and all (so windows says) but when i do a scan from any driver scan downloaded online it tells me i have 20 drivers outdated? why wont windows find them? no matter what i do nothing fixes. first it as one USB and now 2 arent working
Same as aquiliux nothing work i did exactly the same as you said , I wanted to connect the behringer deepmind 12 to download the patches on my laptop windows 10 but I can used usb port to download pictures and videos
UPDATE:: Option #4 worked for a few days then back to USB lockup... went through all options again and checked. Then sat down with partner to see what changed since we gave computer to Grandpa-- was it maybe virus, bot, new software, etc. Tunes out that partner had installed Avast Antivirus software as he had several personal subscriptions ( I do not have it on my machines) Did a quick Google search and did discover that other individuals had the same problem. So we uninstalled Avast Antivirus. It has been 3 weeks of daily use and no longer problem with the USB locking up. So the Avast software was the problem. Hope this helps others that may continue to have USB lockup problems-- consider your antivirus software. Hi!! Option #4 worked for us!! An HP desktop that was originally Win 7 machine....at least 10 years old... updated to Win 10 so Grandpa could have basic computer for Internet, email, Skype, etc...since his older computer was becoming unreliable... was crabby updating to Win 10 2 years ago but then settled down.... couple of weeks ago Grandpa was complaining of mouse/keyboard randomly locking up... finally was able to experience issue at our house... I was thinking it was mouse wearing out.. for some reason some recent update messed up the USB Hub drivers... Unstalled according your your excellent instructions, computer self-reinstalled drivers and so far working great!! Thanks so much for your wonderful video and how clearly you explain everything. Made it so easy to go through each of the steps and how to check everything.
Problem, Windows attachable keyboard & USB wireless mouse stopped working simultaneously Device Manager shows USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller has yellow ! Device cannot start code 10 Actions Taken Windows 11 fully updated Driver removed through device manager no change Driver updated through device manager no change Checked BIOS Surface Pro 6 reset to factory settings twice, once keeping files, last full reset Tried Snappy Driver Updater Looked at Power Settings but Windows 11 makes this difficult Restarted obviously numerous times In Device Manager when I select the USB Controller and open there is no power tab In Device Manager there is only 1 item listed under Universal Serial BUS Coontroller I have tried just about every fix I can find with no changes, I hesitate with the hardware options as both the USB port on the side of my Surface Pro 6 stopped and at the same time the magnetic connector at the bottom for the keyboard also stopped, hard to believe that the 2 locations are connected physically in any way, I tried driver updates manually but keep getting message that I have the correct driver, Uninstalled my Avast Virus software, no change, switched to AVG no change, I have contacted Microsoft Surface Support and they worked for awhile with me and now are no longer responding, Any help would be so appreciated,
tried all these steps and nothing. Hard restart solved my problem. Press and hold the the laptop power button for 10-30 seconds until all lights and noise go out, than power on
I tried all of the steps but they unfortunately none of them worked. BUT WAIT..... I did find a SOLUTION by disconnecting everything except the power cord. Then I performed a Power Drain by holding the power button in for 10 to 15 seconds. My two monitors that are plugged into HDMI ports on USB C adapter came on. Enjoy!
so im having an issue with the USB not working WHEN i try to log in (start up window) BUT it can work in the BIOS i kind of need the USB to make my mouse/keyboard to work and i have NO idea how to fix this issue, so anyone who can help me/link me to something, that would be amazing if anyone can see this, cause everything i try to research, its usually a USB port on a part the login screen tutorial...
Is it just me doing something stupid? I uninstalled the USN drivers, but then I couldn't use my mouse and keyboard to be able to click "action". I panicked. Fortunately, they were working when I turned my PC off and on again.
I still have problem. Please help... USB Gamepad dont react when is plugde in USB port. I checked on PC it is recognized regulary and works. On lap top dont react. Every other device react on laptop and work fine, but only gamepad dont. Please advice! Both device (PC and lap top) use Windows 10
