The USC men's capped Day 3 of races at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a blistering, collegiate record 2:59.00 in Eugene, Oregon. Subscribe to the NCAA Championship RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com...
USC had 1/2 of the Tokyo Olympic gold-winning 4x400 meter team. It's a testament to the USA's collegiate depth that anyone was even somewhat close to them.
@@trenteinertson6853 I mean he didnt say he was going to win. He said he's one of the favorites, which he was, and that he had to beat the Norwegian guy if he wanted to win, which was also true...as he got 2nd and Norway took the Gold lol
@LilMr. Gamer No not of course. And he didn't speed up. Runners do not accelerate into the finish. This is true for the shorter sprint distances too. That's why I said "looks like."
@@benjaminfranklin4149 he was taking the piss out of the other runners in the first 300. You could tell he wasn't trying. I actually think he did speed up in the final 100
That's what you're supposed to do in a 400. You finish strong in the last 100m. Depending on your strength and maximum velocity you can start pushing in the last 170-90m. It's a paced acceleration until you reach the last straight. This is why you see runners coming in strong off the last curve.
Benjamin's leg is a clinic. On the second half of the leg you can see the level of pain he inflicted on the opponents as you see a runners showcasing their teeth...grinding out the pain. Beautiful leg by Rai
Wow what a time for a college 4x400m team. I'm from Ireland and that winning team would broke our national senior record for God sake. That's how good they are, take note Irish 400m athletes do your best to spend some time in the US and learn and train with some of these athletes and their coaches and make the Irish 4x400m team much better than it is and start making finals on the world stage. It's about time guys and ladies. Get on to to Anthony "The Star" Geoghegan in Carlow he has all the fine tuning secrets needed to pull off something like this. I'm sure if national coaches cud swallow their pride and take notes from Anthony himself I'm sure he'd love to help being a proud Irish man who'd love to be part of and witness sprinting in general pick up in depth in this wonderful country of ours just like the Jamaicans have. And he he has learned a lot from those guys and so many others from around the world of sprinting. Anything I could do to help please just ask n I'd do my best to help ok. Irish Athletics Fan 2019 🇨🇮🇨🇮🏅🏅
he was apart from the olympic 4x4 relay pool. as in he was not a part of it. please learn the difference between apart and a part of. they actually mean quite the opposite.
I HATE when they don't show everyone crossing the finish line. It's a RACE...show all the competitors crossing the line. The commentators could also name the people who are scheduled to run instead of only saying 3-5 names in a race with 32 athletes SMH
Well, when you have half of the Olympic gold medal winning 4x400 squad on your college team, I guess you have a good chance at winning the college meet.
Michael Norman is never a super strong relay runner unless someone is near him. Rai is always faster than him during 4x400 relays when theyre in the lead. However, when Michael Norman has competition he posted the 2nd fastest split in the world
