No, the Pac 12 started to die when the Pac 12 Network couldn't get a DirecTV and many major cable systems. The ESPN owned SEC Network helped the SEC become even more dominant.

Except they don't play that now, because one or both conferences almost always has a team in the playoffs. And the Rose Bowl is a playoff game every third year. A matchup of B1G and Pac-12 champs in the Rose Bowl has happened exactly once in the eight seasons of the playoff era (2019).

PAC-12 is likely done. The MW should go after Colorado and bring back Utah. Maybe try and poach Washington State and Oregon State if they can because Stanford, Oregon, or Washington would be such a hard sell to join the MW.

I think NIL money will be the end of SEC dominance. It will hang on for a while based on history, but players will eventually discover that they can literally sell ten times as many shoes and hats in California, New York, and Illinois alone than they can in the entire Deep South combined. It will be the B1G vs. all the rest, unless the SEC can attract someone with a media market worth speaking of besides Texas.

Oregon, Stanford and Washington will end up in the Big Ten. I think Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State end up with the Big 12. Those teams along with UCLA and USC will be part of the Division I College Football super conferences. Cal and Oregon State will be the odd teams out of the new super conference realignment.

There's this thing called a jet. Pro teams do it every week, why can't college teams? It's not like they take classes in the fall semester.

Money talks, and with those media markets once NIL stabilizes out players will make 2 or 3 times the money in the B1G they can hope to earn in the SEC, and that will be the end of SEC dominance, and, eventually, their even being competitive. Why pay for a slightly better chance to maybe be an NFL star in four years when you can earn $10M today selling hats, shirts and shoes in LA? LA County alone has almost twice the people, and nearly three times the income, of the entire state of Alabama. (Not to mention that everybody in LA owns at least one pair of shoes.)

I feel like Oregon is as good as gone at this point. They definitely follow the So Cal schools to the B1G. Idk who else they add though, maybe Notre Dame, maybe Utah or Washington. Who knows, what a time to be a college football fan though

Any player or coach who is with a power conference is ineligible to ever work at an NCAA school again. it will never happen, because they are all whores and will sell out the students & universities to line their pockets.

As if that would matter. College football generates more than all the other sports combined and 3x as much as per school than college basketball. This is why the original big east basketball league from the 80/90s died. Boston College, Syracuse, and Pitt wanted to join a football league.

Fat chance. The schools would just ditch the NCAA for those billions in TV revenue and have the conferences govern the sports. What's the NCAA going to do? It has no legal authority, and it's already lost several antitrust suits.

Would all the coaches & players in all the sports be happy to risk lifetime bans so that a "non-profit" program in the university can fly first class? Take my school, Iowa State. Not historically good in football, but OK lately. Has had some really good years the last 3 decades in men's basketball, but not a powerhouse. They will likely be left out. Do you think that they, and ALL the other HUNDREDS of also rans are going to just sit back and smile while they are raped with a chainsaw? Do you think there fans are just going to smile and start watching the SEC?

They should, but Notre Dame hasn’t given any indication they want to, and they do have a written agreement that if they join a football conference its with the ACC.

@@staleydu1 They'd make more money in their first year with the B1G than they'd lose by breaking that contract. And 75% of the playoff berths will be going to B1G and SEC teams. They'd be crazy to bet on the ACC, at least as far as football is concerned - the ACC is Clemson and trash these days.

Always was and now that players are part of the economic pie conferences and schools dont want to retain less of the profits they’re use to having so they just increase their presence into various tv markets to make up the diff of being obligated to pay their players

@@maizeman90 I'm a proud UT-Austin alum and know our fan base very well. Austin is very different from the rest of Texas, which is why they say "Keep Austin Weird". OU and A&M are the opposite of Austin. If Donald Trump Jr. was a student at OU or A&M, he could be elected student body president. Bernie Sanders is a favorite in Austin.

That's more than the Big 12 and as many as the Pac 12. And of course USC will be in the B1G now, so that's four, more than anyone except the SEC. And hopefully NIL money will be the end of SEC dominance as top players realize that no one in the Deep South north of Miami and east of Dallas can afford a hat or a pair of Nikes with their name on it (if they even know what shoes are).

@@skylarowens8629 The Big 12 has won one (Texas). 2000 was in the 20th century. One is one less than two, in case your math wasn't good enough to get in a B1G school. And the Pac 12 has only won two (one of which was vacated). Neither of those conferences has done any better than the B1G. And the B1G has as many playoff appearances as both of them combined, and only one less than the ACC - and between the Big 12 and Pac 12 combined they have exactly one playoff game win, compared to three for the B1G. My point is that you act like the B1G has been bad when it's been competitive with every other conference _except_ the SEC which has won 2/3 of the championships this century. I dislike the SEC intensely, but no one can deny that they have utterly dominated CFB, particularly the playoff era. Clemson and OSU are the only teams to come remotely close. No one from the Big 12 or Pac 12 has. And with USC on board they'll be a better conference than anyone except the SEC. The Big 12 and Pac 12 will have no teams left that have won championships this century, and these days the ACC is total trash aside from Clemson. Going forward it will be B1G vs. SEC, until players start to realize that there's little NIL revenue to be had from 3rd world states where hardly anyone wears shirts or shoes or can read the players' names, and it becomes B1G dominating everyone.

UCLA isn’t well known for having a great football team for several decades.

They were already crushed. Pop quiz: how many times in the playoff era has a B1G champ faced a Pac 12 champ in the Rose Bowl?

Most Olympic Sports are playing meets/invitationals/mini-tournaments in other parts of the country already. The B1G sends its golf, baseball and softball programs to warm weather locations in February & March. The point of a conference is mostly to host a conference tournament for an auto-bid to the NCAA tournaments (which by the way tend to be in warm weather locations typically). Other than men's and women's basketball most conferences don't have all teams with certain Olympic sports so they play a few conference teams but will spend most of their time playing those meets/invitationals to get more experience against national level competition. This really only affects basketball, volleyball and soccer.

It will work out about the same way the real war did, and for the same reason. With players earning NIL money, Alabama and Mississippi will not remotely be able to compete with NYC, LA, Chicago and Philadelphia in terms of revenue.

Who isn't, outside of Clemson, OSU, and the SEC? Who else has won championships this century? Florida State? Miami? How are they looking these days?
