These are the USD Shadow, the first without the Xsjado branding. It's also the first with the new MyFit Eclipse Hightop liner, rather than the traditional low cut foot wraps. I never skated Xsjado, so this was my first time in anything like this.
Thanks for Oak City Skate Shop for selling me a boot only version of the Shadow Trimax. shop.oakcityskate.com/PREORDE...

Xsjados have been the skate I always goes back to since they first DL model arrived in the UK and easily owned over 80 pairs sinnce. The heel shock/wedge was an essential part of the skate. It doesn't just offer a shock and heel raise but it added shape and support around the arch of your foot. Because you got the Trimax version I have a feeling that would be a reason why it's not come pre fitted in the skate. Because you don't need the extra height while riding larger wheels on a Xsjado skate. If you do try with the heel shock in make sure that you get them in the correct feet. They are a left and right and will hurt soooooooo bad if you get them in the wrong feet as the arch support will be putting a lot of pressure on the outside of your foot instead of cupping your arches nicely. The only setups I will skate with out the shock are my wizard setup and my vert setup. If you liked M12S I'd try these with the heel shock in 😊 Also one of my favourite setups was the core 50/50 freestyle frame with Xsjado. Backsides for dayzzzzzzzzzzz There are also a few adjustments with how the straps are set up that can make some good feel changes so you play around.

Just got my pair(in the correct size this time haha) love them for the most part, but its odd to me they chose not to include the "heel cup shock absorber" thing that sits inside the soul frame. I know the "xsjados" had them, and I belive mainly served the purpose keep heel movement to a minimum. Im having a little bit of movement in mine. It might not be anymore than what I got in my razors, maybe 1/4 in at most, but its tripping me out just cause I can visually see it. You wouldn't happen to know where I can get a set would you? Seems like they are gone everywhere.

Good stuff! Just realized as I received a pair of shadow boots today, that this model is different then the version farmer is riding. There is no hinge bolt allowing for forward flex. The Kizer model has a separate cuff for forward flex. This Trimax version had a solid cuff? Sending mine back and waiting.

I used to be addicted to rollerblading, used to skate almost everyday and night. Here in NC it is cooler at night. Started on Roces streets in 98, friend gave me his old skates. Then bought K2 backyards at Sports Authority, then bought a used pair of 5th Elements from a kid (really sick skate), then Salomon dropped the St8 and St9, everyone was buying them.Got The Salomon St8's for christmas with autofit liner, shock absorbers and energizer cuffs. And became addicted to skating on the Salomons. We used to skate with Dre Powell, he was always killing it. We used to skate my best friend driveway with Dre we were probably 16.

The first inline skate I remember that had a soft outside liner was the k2 fatty. Then after they came out or around the same time everyone seemed to release a full system if you will . Prior to skates like the k2 fatty I would get rollerblades take out the two middle wheels and replace them with mini ones. Best of all I would put a grind plate one top of the two middle wheels and it was made by scribe industries invented by Steve Thomas in Minnesota where I’m from. I did get to hang out with him after he sold the company.

had you ever tried pre USD Xsjados? I'm wondering what the difference in feel is between the old low cut footwrap with the built in cuff padding, versus the new combat boot looking "liner". what I really liked about old xsjados was being able to wear regular old low cut vans sneakers and then being able to strap up the blades real quick. just seems like a huge feature missing from the USD Shadows.

Does the tall liner/shoe feel like walking around in a snowboard boot? Basically meaning that you can walk around fine, but there is a stiffness that feels awkward because your feet can't flex up or down.

@mikefelix1233
@mikefelix1233 4 года назад
Back to Blading yeah I was watching your video on grinding where you compared learning royales on a TRS or a Fatty. I really locked my royales when I had my fatties. I have a pair of Valos right now and I keep slipping out when my boot touches the rail. I guess I’m looking more for a skate that’s like the fatties. I prefer a soft boot over a hard shell with a liner.

@VaperScape
@VaperScape 5 лет назад
Hey law, I think what I am most curious about is the walkable liner. The main reason I want to pick up a set of these is to pair them with a set of oysi frames for my perfect downtown booze cruise sessions. We like to shred for awhile, hit a bar, shred a little more. Do they seem like they would hold up to actually being used as a shoe like the old xsjado footwraps? Are they even comfortable to walk in?
@BacktoBlading

I had a pair of the previous Xjsado 2.0. And there are two things I hated about them: The look down is horrible. They look like those thing you get when you've broken your leg! and second I stacked it so many times just by taking tight corners when the huge Tray like soul plates caught the concrete.
