Its early days with the UART as most data is locked or encrypted but this will show if the SB is working could save you wasting time (ps watch video to end to find the easy way to connect UART to the PS5)

Thank you for the video :). I just watched it. So, I've got one PS5 which is completely dead and all the voltages, including the standby ones are OK. I thought either a problem with the BIOS, or Southbridge, or maybe storage. Will try the UART way.

@@Steve_be I've ordered SVOD4, I think one of the best programmers for us out there, the customs charged me over £80 for the duty :D. Hope it's worth ;) it. I'll make a video on my inte team screen protector channel about it. It should be capable with an additional software to pull all the BIOSes for each IC you insert into it. I'll try to buy that software and show it in action. As well, should be able to program ICs from SONY TVs which I struggle as well. So, huge hopes to be true. For now I'm using the regular CH341A and I hate it :D big time ;).

Hi Steve, really useful vid, I have a random issue where my Blu Ray daughter board has a supply voltage short BUT the PS5 can read it and install updates - just doesn't take disks - keeps blowing the 12v supply fuse. checked the board with voltage injection and the CXD90063R-1 chip get hot (1 ohm resistance) - nothing else on board seems to be causing this (have removed most caps etc. ). Do you know if I can extract the data / clone the chip on the daughter board? obv. no good swapping it to another board as 'it' seems to the short..

Its for convenience as i reprogram the chip many times trying to find more answers, plus it reduces risk of heat damage ..

@@OnStageLighting as the UART on the PS5 is only seeing the southbridge but its a start. there is no syscon on the PS5 likle the ps4 so you do see a Boot screen my guess is the process is hinden in the PSP part of the Apu but we keep looking

Hi steve,what is the best way for rams and gpu rail temp ?i have ps5 with closed shield it will freeze after 5 min and with opened shield its working good without any issue,i used best thermal pads and not effected !!

Check the Liquid Metal, but it can be fault ram or ssd

Hi Steve I have a edm010 disc CD drive falied.I have another dead edm020 with disc drive and want to use it in edm010 so I can use and update. Possible to use it with Cod SW. What do I change in 8legs chip with Cod sw near the SB to make it work in 010.

If you want to make edm101 work with out a dvd you can but you cant change a dvd you have to swap the daughter from the old to the replacement on

@@Steve_be Thank you for your kind reply. I do not have the CD ROM for the edm010 as she is dead but I have a dead edm020 with the cdrom . I wanted to use that with the edm010. I have the bios of the edm020. The Cod does imply with his modifier you can keep cd going from another board if your one is dead. May be I got that wrong

@@astral5322 to swap a dvd disc player you must have the original daughter board that was matched to the mother board its not in a nor or a me, chip its in the original renesas chip that was with the original system.

@@Steve_be Steve thank your for your trouble. I am aware about the "renesas" and swapping of daughter board which I have done many times. I think it is just the way the coder wrote it on his web about his modifier that confused me. Now is clear it cannot be done. Thank you

@@astral5322 implies is correct as yet its not been possible because the renesas chip carries the key, so we can use the Nor (bios) to stop the unit looking for a key but we cant use the bios to inject a key plus we have not got the encrypted key which as i have said was in the dvd renesas even if we had the key it cant be injected from thje bios i hope this makes senes ,, i know the video you mentioned im a a good mate with phil(cod3r)

This may be the HDMI chip it can cause all of the problems you mentioned . It would be the first thing i would try

@@Steve_be When I connect the usb with ps5 update, it resets to factory settings, then the system restore progress goes to 100%, then the console restarts and a message appears that something is wrong and that the console will reset to factory settings, time 30 seconds and after reboot it returns to safe mode again

This is a old video but yes you should see the ok if the southbridge is working As per video on the edm 033 the test points are in different place also BwE has now produced a software to read errors but its NOT free…. Ill be make new video soon showing new stuff but im sick in bed at the moment
