I like the way you focus on all the things you could do with apples mail app. Other RU-vidrs are always bringing up the shortcomings. I have a question, sometimes I send something from the Mail app on my Mac laptop, but when I look on my iPad, understand it’s not there. Why is that the case? Frank.😊

I love ❤️ this video I think the stock apps like Apple Mail are so powerful there are so many things you can do with it and it doesn’t shout at you like other apps that are third party. It is so important to learn how to gracefully navigate the iPhone in a way that helps you have a more peaceful and productive day. Thank you can you please make more of these kind of videos about all the default apps and how they work so well together ❤️⚡️🤙⚡️⚡️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Try this: Close the Mail app, then force quit the app. Then go into Settings > General > Mail > Signature > and delete the current signature. Close Settings. Go back into Settings > General > Mail > Signature > and create a new signature. The signature font size will now match the reply font.

no push for gmail (only fetch), and no cloud management of 3rd party emails. i would love to see features like spark and other apps that sync every device with the cloud. having to copy settings back and forth and fetching directly from the mail server on each device is so sad in 2024 😢
@ShivsStudio

I agree that fetch isn't ideal and that push should be used instead. On the cloud syncing, what is Mail missing compared to other apps like Spark?

Nice video and I have always wanted to use the Apple Mail app, but the issue I have is: incoming mails don’t hit my inbox on time even if I set it to push or fetch, the mails hit my gmail app or even my spark app before hitting my Apple Mail App. It hit or I get notified when the iPhone/ipad is plugged in and I begin to receive notifications, off which, the delays of the mails could be costly. Does yours do same or is there a fix?

@@ShivsStudio it happens to all email accounts I added. but I noticed, I left the fetch data settings to be "Automatic", but I set it yesterday to be "Every 15 minutes" and the emails have been dropping promptly but not as fast as the "Gmail app" does.

It may be due to the type of push notifications Apple Mail supports.

I'd like to highlight a few basic features that Apple Mail lacks. Firstly, the ability to easily find emails from a specific sender is missing. Additionally, there's no option to have attachments as a separate part or section of the email; they are all in line, which is inconvenient. As a result, I'm currently using Spark email, even though I would prefer to use Apple Mail.
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 25 дней назад
For the first issue, is the search function not powerful enough?
@ChintamaniVartak

@@ShivsStudio yes, it is. But if you are using Spark email client you will know what I mean and it is more convenient then search in Apple mail. Wish I could post a screenshot here. Anywa, keep making more videos on Apple Mail. I am very much keen to switch to Apple Mail.

My biggest gripe with Mail in iOS and iPadOS is the inability to select multiple contacts via a selection option or via a search option to send group emails. Each contact must be selected individually. Apple needs to fix this.
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 29 дней назад
In what situation would you need to do that? I guess it could help if you're in marketing?
@jimtipton8888
@jimtipton8888 29 дней назад
@@ShivsStudio Technically I’m in sales, but I do some marketing. I work with a set group of accounts. Occasionally I’ll do a blast email to let folks know about a certain promotion. It’s really easy on the Mac because of groups and smart groups. iPadOS doesn’t have that sort of functionality so you have to pick each contact individually and add it to the email. Not a simple process.
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 29 дней назад
Would the Bcc feature not work? So you can create a distribution list or contact group and add it to Bcc so that no one sees the other recipients?
@jimtipton8888
@jimtipton8888 29 дней назад
@@ShivsStudio That’s usually what I do, the BCC feature. The problem is, say you have 650 contacts. Let’s say a key word is Trends. If I search the keyword in contacts I get a result. What the challenge is, once I have that search result I can’t select and drag the whole search result into the BCC field of an email while in Split View. It becomes cumbersome. If you want to send the email to 25 contacts. No way to select all the desired contacts and send them an email. Have to hunt and add each contact individual. Same with adding them to a list. Fortunately I have a MacBook, so for this task I use it. Just would be nice if I could do it on the iPad when I have the thought and maybe the time.

Having to wait hours for notifications for new emails from added Gmail accounts makes it unusable. Apple really should develop the push notifications for this app if they want people to use it with 3rd party email addresses. 👎

@@ShivsStudio It's Apple... unlikely they'll add functionality to enable any Google owned app to work better on their platform.
@picxlmedia7856

People use this? Surprised Apple just hasn’t discontinued it. The functionality is beyond basic and a decade behind. Also it takes too long for emails to come through because of the push. I don’t want to have to keep refreshing my emails when someone said they emailed me. No way this is better than the Gmail app.
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 18 дней назад
I think it's great for someone who is a light email user and doesn't want to spend time having to learn the functionalities of a more complex app. That said, I agree that it would be much better if it support Push rather than just Fetch.

Lack of a snooze feature makes Apple Mail a nonstarter. For people who do very few emails, Apple Mail is fine, but for those of us who have a normal email volume, snooze is important, and a standard part of all proper email clients nowadays. Pros don't use Apple Mail because it lacks pro features.
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 29 дней назад
Would the Remind Me function not be comparable to Snooze?
@J2js7argcj4ttx
@J2js7argcj4ttx 29 дней назад
Does snooze mean only prioritising certain emails or mailboxes ? If so, u can VIP emails for certain emails, or configure the focus modes in settings for filtering down mailboxes - e.g. work focus shows only work mailbox.
@gerawan
@gerawan 27 дней назад
@@ShivsStudio Yes, somewhat. Reminders appears to be Apple's workaround for not having a snooze feature. But, I don't think it's as good, since all it does is remind you of a particular email. I think proper snooze is much better since it removes the email from your inbox and puts it back later. My guess is that Apple decided against a snooze feature because it would require holding the email on their servers during the snooze. (That's because snoozing only at the client level would be considered too archaic (since everything's becoming web-based now).) Spark mail, for example, does snooze, and they do it by holding your snoozed mail on their server. I asked them what would happen if I stopped using Spark mail. They said that as long as I didn't delete my Spark account, the snoozed email would come back even if I were no longer a paying customer. That's nice, but what happens if Spark goes out of business? So, that's one reason I stick with using Outlook, since my email is Microsoft-based. I also prefer Outlook because it has a "focused" versus "other" inbox feature. I'm sure there's a workaround in Apple Mail, but I like the simplicity and speed of doing it in Outlook. All that said, Apple Mail is solid and fast, and just fine for users who don't do a lot of email.
@gerawan
@gerawan 27 дней назад
@@J2js7argcj4ttx No, snooze basically takes the email out of your inbox and puts it back at the end of the snooze. The prioritizing you mention is nice, but similarly I prefer Outlook's (and other email clients') feature to have a "focused" inbox versus "other" inbox, and once you indicate which for a sender, then you can easily toggle between those two. Obviously, that can be done with the prioritizing that you mention, but with a few more steps, and the need to make sure you always check those other folders (or remove/apply filters).
@ShivsStudio
@ShivsStudio 26 дней назад
That makes sense, there may be other email apps that have better/more advanced features than Apple's Mail app. To address your latter comment around focused vs other inboxes, the iOS 18 update next month will be bringing this feature to Apple Mail, so the app will have Primary, Transactions, Updates and Promotions categories to make your inbox a little more organised.
