I was using reminders for grocery shopping, organizing my list according to the route I followed walking around the store. Then I updated the OS and reminders re-organized my list into departments which DO NOT follow the way my nearby store is organized. So, if I followed the organization of the app, instead of taking about 30 minutes to do my weekly shopping I would spend three times the effort to get the same list. I've had to move my list to a simple text doc and that means it takes my four times the effort to make my weekly shopping needs. THANKS APPLE.
Exactly! Many times, I miss my reminders because app didn’t give me a nudge to complete my tasks. The problem extends beyond the stock app; other third-party apps have the same issue. I think Apple really needs to update their library for reminders in the next iOS version. Currently, it’s useless for me as well.
I love these types of videos. There are so many stock apps in iOS that most people rarely use, and if they do use them, only have little to no understanding of how to use the app. I use a lot of the stock productivity apps, and im always looking for ways to improve their use.
Excellent video. I like using tags and Smart Lists. While using the reminders app on my iphone. When I search for keywords in a subtask, I wish the search results would pull up the entire reminder, rather than just the individual subtask. Do you know if there a way to do this?
I’m using an iPhone 15Pro running iOS 17.2 but my Reminders app doesn’t have most of the features such as type of list, icons for lists, icons above keyboard, menu options from the 3dots. App Store indicates up-to-date. Please help
@@ShivsStudio it’s English. Please do share more info if you happen to come across another subscriber with a similar situation. Thanks for the content 🙏🏽
Hi. I See your super video. I’m trying to organize me better 😂. I haven’t de großer or list like your. Why? Can you help me? I have a Apple Watch, it is possible to se the gorsserie list too in the watch? I have a iPhone 14 Pro, do you thinks thoos grosserie list don’t work in this iPhone? Many thank for you help
@@ShivsStudio wenn I do aide list. It appears the place to done the name of the new list, under those just Filters. Wenn I goes inside it shows me de tags, dates, time…. But I don’t have the option like you chose the liste. It schows me just filters 🤷🏻♀️I don’t understand
I don’t believe so as reminders are technically not ‘calendar events’. You’d have to create a new event in your calendar for it to show there, or instead you can drag and drop a reminder from the Reminders App into your Calendar to add it as an event. Alternatively, you can download an app like Fantastical which automatically adds your reminders to the calendar.
Options for you Fantastical (beautiful but pricey and subscription based) Calendars (a bit less beau but less pricey and subscription based) Calendar 366 (good, one app purchase but syncing is a bit slow to my liking) GoodTasks Even though I’ve searched for the perfect match, I always go back to the combo, aka Calendar and Reminder native applications)
I love using the Reminder app. I have been using it for more then a year so far as a to-do list, by clicking on the widget, adding stuffs quickly and marking as done. Never tried to see what else it can do. Now i know, and now i will use it for other stuffs that I used to use the Notes app
I have a question about the "Reminders" App. Is there a way to make it "ping", in other words, is there a way to get some sound to let you know what the "ping"(Groceries, making a schedule, to remind you when it’s time to make a video)…and so forth? I find using the "Reminders" App very confusing.
Reminders is utterly useless.. I asks Siri to remind me of something the next day at 10, I expect it to REMIND me of the task at 10, not just creating a simple text, which does absolutely nothing to remind me of my task if I’m not actively looking in the reminder app. This is just a glorified list app, nothing more
Great video and I am considering using this as my task app. I can’t seem to add a section - that option is not in the drop-down list. I am on an iPhone 13 mini with the most up-to-date operating system. I also tried deleting and reinstalling the app and it’s still not there. Any suggestions?
I like the widget but I wish it was not interactive. It's very easy to accidentally mark a reminder as completed when you're moving around your homescreen or if it's in a smart stack. I'd prefer to be able to have it just open Reminders
Is there a way we’re you can delete the ability to not complete your reminders and keep it there forever because I sometimes accidentally click the reminder and complete it and then the whole reminder that I wrote is gone😭
Good video. I was hoping I was missing something but sadly it seems like how this app works. I have multiple tasks with subtasks, sometimes about 10 items. The main task is once a day or once a week with all the subtask. For me to have the subtask repopulate under the main task each time, I have to also give them the same reoccurring due date. That’s a bit of work to do that. However, in the Today or Flagged, each subtask comes up as a separate task instead of under the main task that doesn’t give the option to expand or collapse under the main task. Same thing for smart lists. If you tag the main task and filter it in the smart list, it will only show the main task. And if you tag every subtask with the same tag, it shows up as its own task instead of under the main task. I find that frustrating.
I don't think Apple have given subtasks enough thought as they maybe could have. I think having subtasks is a very valuable feature and there's a lot they could do to improve it. Are there any other features you'd add to the app?
So beautiful video! 5 stars! So clear and accurate! It was a pleasure to watch it. Thanks, man!) And about the Apple Reminds - a really great app! Great review!
Great video! Is there a way to create a template of a reminder? All I can find out there is info about creating LIST templates...I want to create a template of a reminder that is in a list (to use it for video creation management). Thanks for your help!
Great video tutorial. But I can't create the Groceries list. I have an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 17.2. In fact I don't have the "List Type" option visible at minute 7:27. Thanks Rosario
Try connecting your Reminders app to iCloud. You can do this by going to Settings > Click on your profile at the top > iCloud > Show All (under apps using iCloud) > Turn on Reminders. Does the list now show?
The same happens to me, even though I have my Reminders App connected to my iCloud. My iPhone is not set in English, could it be the reason why I don’t have this function? By the way, very good video!
@@filippocarotti1376 This has also been known to be a bug - it's possible that the phone doesn't show these lists if English is not the set language. Hopefully they patch this soon!
Reminders have come a long way. But for repeating habits like tasks - running, walking, writing etc. - a widget with streaks seems to be missing (basically the reporting part so to speak) which shows your progress. That would make this stock app perfect.
Your vids are what i've been looking for - as a long-time Android user who is looking to switch to iPhone (since I already have an MBpro). My main question or wondering if you can do a video on it is how well the Apple system talks or integrates into Google apps (which I use both personal and business gmails, cal, Gkeep,G Photos, GTasks). I know many are wondering the same - I always see iPhone users having Gmail on their phone but then I don't see the rest of the G apps - is it b/c the integration is really bad or something else. I'd appreciate your help as I'm looking to make the move soon to an iPhone - but I would hesitate if I'm 'forced' to use Apple apps only. ie I like a fully integrated ecosystem - that is why I'm even considering an iPhone (but don't want to get ride of my G apps). Thanks!
This App is very handy... but I expected it to automatically synchronize the reminders with your agenda app... As far as I'm seeing it doesn't. Or does it?
The search function stopped working on my iPhone 12 mini with the latest update but still functions on my iPad Air. I have been using reminders for years and would use search to add or remove items from shopping by checking or unchecking the items in my list. Anyone else have this issue? Also, can i make an existing list a grocery list format? I have an existing list a hundred or so items long and would hate to make a new one.
As much as I want to stick with native apps like reminders and apple cal, I can't stress how digusting it is that apple doesn't have calendar integration into their reminders app. The moment i put a date, it should be added to the calendar. When you date something, it's the most important thing in the world. IDK why it's not like that.
Thanks for these amazing tips brother. I have also just watched your video on Apple calendar tutorial. These 2 apps have become very useful after watching your videos. Thanks bud
Really nice! Mine apple reminders in inspired by the book "Deep Work". I just have "Shallow work" and "Deep work" pinned and the rest is justs lists like groceries store, goals for the future and etc.
And if I transfer todo-Management into reminders, how to achieve the so important overview of the achievements of a day? Can’tsee an option like this in the intelligent list setup.. 🤷🏼
Subtasks hidden away at the bottom of a menu is the biggest friction point for me. Currently using Todoist and the ease of breaking a task into subtasks is a game changer. I don’t want dozens of tasks causing me anxiety; I want to open the open, choose the main task I want to complete, and then start checking off the subtasks.
I've used 3rd party apps for so long. I found your channel and going thru the videos you have me second guessing it 😂. Going to have to give the stock apps another go round.
@@ShivsStudio For sure, I've been using Apple Notes exclusively for a while now, but using the tips and now using Reminders it's perfect and cohesive. The only thing I cannot get past is the Calendar app. I like the way the Google calendar app is touch and drag instead of having to manually insert the times.
@@croppixelmedia check out my video on the Calendar app, you may learn a few things there too! If you don't want to insert the time in Calendar, you can just go to the date and time you want to insert your event, press there, and the time is already filled in.
Try connecting your Reminders app to iCloud. You can do this by going to Settings > Click on your profile at the top > iCloud > Show All (under apps using iCloud) > Turn on Reminders. Does that help?
This wasn't helpful, I wanted to set my time specifically to 7:03, but that isn't an option! I know it's possible because I set it to a specific time but either it doesn't work anymore or i forgot how to do it.
Instead of using the scroll wheel to set the time, try pressing on the time instead. That brings up your keyboard which you can use to set a particular time. Hope that helps!
@@ShivsStudio just one more question, this technique only works on one of my smartphones, (iPhone 7 Plus) when it doesn't work on the other, (iPhone 11) why is that?
