I do believe Kafka is going to be an interesting character, not only she is getting the Damage over Time mechanic, but we gotta respect Owlbert's words by calling us out for our thirsty behavior.
I mean sure we're all looking forward to Kafka here for... Reasons... But to be fair to the other Nihility characters, there's nothing overly unique about her kit. It's more specific to her of course but imo doesn't render other options void. Still might end up being wrong though, these are the kinds of things we'll never really know until we get her

I've been saving since the beginning of the game for her (only allowing myself a few pulls on Silver Wolf's banner and I was lucky enough to get her!), so I'll definitely get Kafka (hoping to win the 50/50, of course!). Probably the best informational video so far on HSR. I’ve seen all Sampo and Kafka videos and anything DoT related. I have a pretty good grasp on the subject even the Normal and Break DoTs. But I can’t say this enough, that this is probably the most educational video not just on DoTs but on HSR logic I’ve ever seen.
It frames it in a perfect way that it can cater to all player types from hardcore and even casuals. Small note that not everyone knows regarding the physical dot The dmg cap on the physical break works ONLY on the dmg that occurs when you break the physical weakness , it doesnt apply on the Physical DoT itself . Ty for the amazing intro to DoT
But the Wiki says that the Bleed DoT still has the dmg cap based partly on the level multiplier. Can I ask where/how you got your info? Or did I misinterpret something?

There are a certain content creator who cleared with sampo on moc 10 with 4* but cracked sets. It was a breeze for him. So I’d say that sampo is more than enough
4:38 that makes so much sense! i always wondered why i sometimes was able to see two stacks of wind shear on enemies when I hit with sampo but other times when I try to do it, it doesn't work.
I quit after playing for a bit, heard Kafka was running soon n came back to farm. I saw her in the first cutscene n wanted her in my team - now have 80 pulls and 40 pity. Hope I'll get her

i dont know how to thank you, i've been searching for a video like this for many time, i havent any idea that break effect only afected damage dealt by weakness break, thats why my silver wolf was built wrong, i had put only break effect on her. thank you very much
@@gloomgem5307 she will forever be good since her damage come from other unit (and a lil bit from her) for exemple if in patch 2.0 a 5 star dot char release and he does really high dot damage then she will deal even more damage so don't worry about that, she's almost future proof like silverwolf in her category
Don't have Sampo and probably wouldn't build him even if I did, don't enjoy when skills are rng. With that said I'm still rolling for Kafka, was hoping to play her together with Serval but from what I've heard that's unnecessary now because Kafka can put shock on her enemies by herself. So now I'm not really sure who to put her together with.

Ive been maining Serval as she eas the first character i pulled. This really helped me understand her numbers and has prepared me for the DoT kafka team im hoping to build.

universal damage bonuses seem to not always apply to DoTs, like with the lightcone that was used as example 'good night and sleep well', it specifically states that it applies to DoTs, which not all % increases say

Got introduced to a DoT team recently for SU against Svarog… Have since been building up my Sampo because I want ti see how DoT teams will operate outside of SU AND see if it’ll be a viable way to me to continue to reach more endgame content! It also helps I just unlocked Sampo’s E1 as well! Gonna he going HAM to get Kafka (though I’m a little bit bummed out that her pre-Beta ability to apply DoT weakness got removed… still excited for her though!
I have 45 passes and 32K Strllar Jades all saved for her. Saved as an f2p (never wishes in limited banners) since I started playing during Jing Yuan release. I can't wait to finally get her and build a super fun DOT team for Simulated Universe. All Kafka wanters will be Kafka havers 💜🕸️
One of the funniest and hypest things is now Serval and Sampo will go so hard when paired right. I hope to see more ways to buff 4* characters like Herta or Physical MC
Another important note is that DoTs of the same element do not overwrite each other when applied by 2 different characters. For example, Kafka and Serval can both apply shock to the same enemy and they will take damage from both damage sources. This also applies to Break Effect DoT. Theoretically, you can have Kafka's and Serval's shock and break a boss twice with each character to have 4 different types of shock on one enemy. This is why Serval is strong with Kafka because she extends ALL shocks on an enemy regardless of ownership. Can't wait for Kafka to release!
i would like to point out that the normal dot which is innate to a certain character stacks with other characters dots of the same type, currently you can only do this with burn. So you can have Astas Burn, Hooks Burn and Himekos Burn active on the same enemy at the same time. Which also means that you should be able to run servals shock together with kafkas shock aswell.
I regret not building sampo now, I have serval semi built tho and I always wamted Kafka since cbt. I'm getting her eitherway and then build a DoT for her ♥️
Some DoT questions I have: 1) Are your ATK and the enemy's DEF/RES checked at the time the DoT status is applied, or each time it does damage? Basically, do DoTs "snapshot"/does it help to buff your DoT character's ATK after they've applied the DoT but before it triggers to deal damage? 2) For Bleed (such as Luka's skill) it says the damage is a certain percentage of the enemy's HP, but capped at a certain percentage of Luka's ATK. Does that mean Luka's Physical DMG% doesn't matter for that Bleed, or does the Bleed damage actually get amplified by his DMG% after the cap is applied?
I recently looked into this. All I could find is that in the beta, DoT's snapshot. This means that attack buffs work on the DoT only at the moment of application. So if you buff your unit after applying DoT, it will not increase the damage. Logically the same goes for defense reductions and vulnerability but I did not test this myself.
How is that logical? It is logical that buffing a character after a DOT effect has already been applied to an enemy will not increase it's damage, that's fine. In this same vein, it is completely logical that reducing an enemies resistance, defence or making them vulnerable before that DOT deals it's damage will also increase it's damage. The enemy now receives more damage from all sources. BTW this is 100% the way it works, Pela, Silverwolf, Sampo etc will all increase the damage of DOT's even after they have been applied.
Skill DoT is dynamic. Easiest test you can do is after applying DoT, use Tingyun's Ultimate buff. And, the damage increases. Basically DoT calculate it damage after it tick, not after it applied. You can buff your DoT just before they're triggered (either by Enemy turn or Kafka's skills). Weakness break DoT on the other hand is Snapshot (at least at the moment, because there's still no Break Effect buffer to test). This is because Break DoT don't scale with the units stat except for BE.
@@Mr_Mellowz Previous games I've played with snapshotting DoT's all had the snapshot of both ally offense and enemy defense at the point of application. There's consistency in that. But once again I could only find footage from the beta of someone actually testing this, and just tingyun buffs.
@@PipPanomaAsta's Attack buff also increase DoT damage. So all Attack/Damage buffs do increase DoT damage. I don't know why you insist on "other games". Different game different calculation.
This guide is really good but that gameplay of nihility path is insane thats why i started playing DoT because of the colorful effects but also the dmg is insane i cant wait for kafka.
Kafka's best ability is to proc dot effect's no matter what kind of and deal damage based on her own kit. So u get the full exp of ur DoT build PLUS whatever Kafka decides to do with them additionaly. Not removing the buffs! She just procs her own kit according to the DoT PLUS letting those DoT exist after the proc.
What you want for Kafka is alot of Atk and Speed So in best cast senario Is having Asta Sampo ,healer and kafka Imo Asta is Actually the best unit for Kafka since she boosts speed,AtK,and has Dot on Her Basic atk with her passives pretty much makes her good with kafka Plus if you still dont have sampo or other 4* DOT chars Asta does the work for Kafka

About the debuffs in general, is it advised to invest only in EHR if the character's kit clearly has that text part "this x attack has an xx% chance to inflict zz debuff"? I am wondering if, for example, March's counter talent has a chance to inflict Freeze on a target without breaking its Toughness gauge. Thanks.
