Use Mail Merge to Create Mailing Labels in Word from an Excel Data Set

I was trying to get ahead at work by helping to set up the mailing list and print out the labels for reminder letters and I didn't really have a clue how. Thank you Mr. Phillips. Your tutorial was perfect, simple and easy to understand. My classmates were fumbling on how to do the labels properly but we had forgotten the steps. So I took the time to look for something on RU-vid. There is always more than one way and this was the easiest. I had done all the steps with the merge even using the existing excel sheet but I kept trying to use the other label menu which kept me stumped for a while. I do not like to waste time but I also try to figure things out on my own. One of the problems was with using the other menu I would create the label and try to update the others and it would go back to the beginning as if I never formatted the label...very frustrating. Believe it or not I had to watch your video three times because in class there are some distractions and I could not watch it all the way through without missing something. It's a done deal now thank you very much. You have a very personable voice which also helps with listening and watching tutorials.

I found the directory of contacts I needed for a mailer on an official website, converted the downloaded PDF to Excel and added a couple of fields, followed your instructions and Shazam! Excellent video, really helped me a lot. One thing that you may pass on is how to create a set of labels after you edit the excel sheet. Thanks to your words about the template savings I found out that by saving the template facilitated a new copy after changing the excel worksheet. Just open the saved template and re-merge.
