I'm good on the backswing .. but I don't think I drop low in the middle .. But, even though I'm not very tall.. and will be entering my later 60's soon, I carry the ball (driver of course) 235 to 240. It makes me crazy that sometimes .. out of the clear blue .. I'll hit one that carries about 280 and it feels exactly like the swing before that carried 240.. golf! go figure.

steve, i like that body action, it seems like it happens almost naturally as opposed to having to think about it to create it. really looks like the mike austin action to me. we still have a scale like that and i remember as a kid making the needle jump around. thnx for the help.

I’m good with shifting and lifting the chair. The ground forces are used appropriately with that drill. The wonks don’t fully understand the physics. I’m glad I can walk well without full grasp of gait biomechanics! Thanks for your teaching, Steve! I’ve found the chair and pole drills most useful.

Steve love this video. I’ve been playing around with pressing down into the ground as a swing trigger. It seems to make sense based on your video as the take away is really just the middle of a full backswing if you were to continuously swing back and through. Golf is tricky due to the fact the club starts in a dead stop position halfway through the swing arc. So I press down before the club is in motion it seems to create a small ground force like a jump start which makes my turn wider and in turn allows me to get more ground force going back down in transition. I feel the ground forces clears my body in both directions. Is this something you’ve felt before?

Thanks for this one Steve. Always a challenge for me not to early extend. Curious if the feeling would/could be from the top of the backswing to feel like you are going to drop and jump/spin around 180 degrees without physically turning all the way around.

Could be.

Interesting shift of your left foot during the swing.

Do you think that in Sams sit-down move he kept a little more force in his right leg? (only way I can see how his left knee was able to swing so wide in his signature squat). It may have allowed him to send more force into his left post.

I think his split knee position kept the weight back a bit longer. I prefer advancing the knee more targetward.

This proved that you gained so much more when using ground properly and also proved that big gain in clubhead speed (Not a big gain to Eddie F but huge for most of us) were undnieable. I just did the exact same thing he did on PRGR launch monitor: All core no leg: 102.6 mph With leg drive and using ground: 118.5 mph I'm sorry Ed but only thing you proved here are your core strength and your fitness level are much higher than me.

Suggestion to Mr. Pratt: video 5+ seconds of your setup before you start the swing. thx

Your left foot in the downswing points more towards the target. That move would seem to enhance the turn. It would seem to free up the left side to make a more powerful swing. But you never talk about it.

It's my peccadillo, and not a move I would necessarily teach.
