Thank you Andy for this excellent video. You are a great coach! I'm putting in quite a lot of practice time each week. I like practising long deep screw shots to improve my cue action and stillness on the shot. I'm slowly but surely developing more control with my final backswing, my back pause, and my cue delivery on this type of shot. I'm learning to play this type of shot with less power and better timing too.

Thank you for watching Kendall how are you down there? Yeah it’s funny the screw shots are the ones we all like to see and play. Technique is an individual thing but I still struggle with the slow back swing but when I get it right it just feels much more controlled.

Great video explaining each part individually and what it all consists of before it’s pieced together. For me one of the parts that majorly effects my timing is a slight pause between pulling back and then delivering the cue through in a (hopefully) straight line. Working on timing has really let me improve on my longer distance cueing and now building up to almost full length screw shots

@@TheSnookerShed My fame is coming along pretty well. I am constantly working on my timing and temporary as well as everything else. It's a long slow road. Thanks for that. By chance, i experimented in changing my cue grip yesterday, and it made such a difference to my delivery. Question though.. How long should the average snooker player take, when delivering the shot? Tends to get me, in all sort of grief, when im playing other opponents.😵‍💫
@TheSnookerShed
@TheSnookerShed Год назад
Hey pal Thanks for watching! Well in my opinion I think most club players play faster than the pros. Really your learning a skill so doing it slower has to be an advantage. When I used to teach rifle drills I never expected the student to do it quickly to begin with it takes time for the pathways in our brains to build. As for delivery of the cue a good balanced approach is what I would say. Do the checks when you pause on the back swing and deliver how ever those checks take is up to you not your opponent. Hope that helps if not just message me on the face book group and we can have a chat Anyway as for your opponent well

@TheSnookerShed
@TheSnookerShed 9 месяцев назад
Hey pal thank you for watching my stuff. I try and keep the cue on my chest as it aids the cue to deliver straighter. As for where it sits I think it’s fairly central if anything slightly above. My cue does drop after contact. Hope that helps Meqp

Backswing looks good. If you don't mind me saying you need to cue more parallel to the table. If you can manage to do this you will find you can put spin on the ball effortlessly & move the white around easily a lot more power in the screw shot with no effort.
