My Mama was of German heritage, her family having been "White Russian," originally from Germany. Her family spoke German in the home. They pronounced camomile, "camellie," with the accent on "...mellie." So, they said, "cuh-MELLIE." I live in Texas and have heard various folks pronounce it, "camo-MILE," and it always gives me pause. 😊

I love drying herbs several ways too. I stocked up on Vitamin E oil and coconut oil also this year. Tessie why would Northern Kentucky's growing season be so behind yours this year?? It was so cold, then it rained for weeks and finally last week and this week we got some sun. Very little last week with 90% humidity but this week has been lovely...sun with 60% humidity. I bought a special pot for my lemon verbena. Im so proud of it. Also I decided to pray over all my plants and vegetables and herbs this year. I got a cicada stuck in my long hair and was doing a cicada dance IN THE DRS OFFICE, with one paralyzed and one broken foot. The nurses came running and took like 3 minutes to get it out! DIDNT even know it was there till it screamed while I was reading my book. I wish you had been there with your camera!! Wow Tessie how does your garden grow? Very well my sir...forgot the rest! That was cool.😍 I love herbal medicine and traditional ways of healing and caring for ourselves. That's such a cool way to dry everything. I was wondering about making my own garlic powder and dehydrating it. I definitely need an outside dehydrator or somewhere outside I can put one. I don't want to be doing that in the house. My dream is to add an herb garden like that to my home, so I can do those things too. 🥰

I just got done weeding and watering my garden. A few days ago I tried to put my greenhouse together but they gave me so many extra pieces, and I was missing 26 essential connection pieces. The struggle of Chinese made stuff. I’ve really been really into growing catnip. I repotted some i found camping, and some that has popped up at my grandma’s. It makes a calming lemony mint flavored tea. And it spreads super easily which I don’t mind because that just means more tea 😄

Did you order the one Tessie has because I seriously was thinking of buying one around August 1, however Im alone and there's no way I could put it up alone. Amazon should make good on that (or wherever you got it) She makes excellent use of hers.
@zanesutherland406
@zanesutherland406 3 года назад
@@docsusun3667 ya it was the one tessie recommended. It would have been easily to assemble for me had the pieces been there. The product is from China and someone must have been drinking on the job or something because they gave me so many extra pieces and the one type of connector I actually needed to finish it wasn’t there. The customer service isn’t through the direct company so I have to send it back to Amazon, and then I’m going to get a replacement and pray it has all its pieces

The herbs are looking AMAZING!!. We dehydrate the same way our friend Tasha Tudor taught us. We make long linen bags and cut the herbs and hang upside down inside the bags to dry outside in our hot summers. Have also use brown bags the same way when we want to keep the colour from fading. You seem to grow more herbs than anything else. Am curious what types of vegetables do you actually grow? We love all vegetables and grow so many different ones. Many types of tomato, summer squash, winter squash, beans, peppers, eggplant, onions, celery, radishes, turnips, parsnips, rutabaga, carrots.

MMmmmm! The combination of chamomile, lemon and rose scents! Sounds so relaxing. If you have time, Tessie, I just have a quick question. If I wanted to make chamomile tea, would I just pour the hot water over the dried chamomile flowers? I've never made it "from scratch," just used the commercial tea bags, so I really don't know. I planted gladiolus bulbs today. Hoping it's not too late in the season for them to bloom this year. (I seem to be running late on everything!) They're one of my favorite flowers. I hope you get a chance to sleep well tonight in this hot weather. Between those amazing fragrances and your air conditioning, I have a feeling you will!

I'd use a tea ball, or find tea bags, that you put your own tea.spices in. You can take fresh herbs, good couple of hand full and pour hot water in a tea pot with your herbs, let it steep for 5 to 8 minutes depending of what herbs your using.
