The Agatha Christie books which feature Ariadne Oliver, as either the main protagonist or, as a, sometimes unwelcome, sidekick to Poirot are also a lot of fun.
Thank you for the inside track on the Agatha characters! I'm so frugal I'm not choose, I just buy whatever I can find. I can't believe it's taken me so long to get into her books.
I read Crooked House by Agatha Christie a few months ago and really loved it. It was super short but the drama and mystery was excellent and I love a good family drama.😎📚
I have never understood why people disparage book club editions so much. The quality difference is not that noticeable to the average person and it's not like they fall apart after a few years. I have quite a few SciFi Book Club editions from the 70s and 80s that look just as good today as any trade edition. Yet some people act like BCEs are basically toilet paper with words on, which I think is ridiculous.
People have strong feelings about book club editions! I agree with you it is weird. I have a bit of a shelf space issue, so I know that some things that I buy and read will have to move to a new home. I know that with book club I can't take them to a used bookstore. Often I can't really tell the difference myself even when I find the marks.
