Pasta storage: I transfer everything into zip lock bags, and toss them all into a basket. Or, to be totally honest, two baskets (because one of the perks of being a grown-up is getting to use whatever shape pasta suits my whim on a given day). This takes up less space than either cardboard packages or plastic jars, and empty bags can be folded up in the bottom.

I actually started watching your videos with your husband first and it led me to your older videos, I think you are so sweet and funny! Your videos are great, thanks for sharing your real life and your practical, creative, beautiful side of life! I pray for you both!

You have a lovely large pantry, a dream of mine. Good job! I live in Florida and you keep open bags in containers or in the fridge. Bread mildews, cookies crumble and no matter how you try, there are bugs if food is left open. I put pasta in containers and cut out directions and recipes on the box and place in jar. I also often add date. No one wants cookies made from old flour. Enjoy your videos.

I've just started the video and am already nodding my head about the flour containers that don't hold all the flour. If a container isn't big enough to hold a whole package of something, I have no use for it! Love this honest pantry organization that will actually work rather than just be Pinterest perfect but unrealistic. Also, I had a laugh at the separate Cheez-It containers with your names on them. Cute!

My pantry is a sea of advertisement because I keep everything in it's original box. Mostly because why clean a container when I can recycle a box. Besides the boxes explain what's in them, have pictures and give an expiration date. But...you're hard work has inspired me to cleaned my pantry for sure.

Great job! I love it when pantry is organized. I get rid of boxes whenever i can. So much wasted space. I have found that dry erase markers are great for putting exp dates or cooking instructions on containers. When storing foods in freezer i move food from box to zip lock bags and cut cooking instructions off and keep in the bag too.

Nice job. I use scotch magic tape and write on that with sharpie the date I filled the flour or sugar container and if applicable the expiration date. (Important for flour). I like to clean the container before I put the next package of food in it.

With your left-over pasta, use a variety of shapes that cook in the same amount of time and make a big pasta salad. Then don’t ever leave left-over pasta again!! Good job!

Word of advise, put a bay leaf into your containers mainly your flour one, there meant to keep flour bugs away & keep food fresher longer.

Looks good! Even though putting everything in "cute" containers looks great, I have missed having original boxes when I've tossed too many and I want to check ingredient labels and/or cooking instructions. I vote to keep the pasta boxes. Having them in one container helps. You of course keep cake mix and brownie mixes in original boxes, so it's OK! Good idea for bread storage. The can storage seems to take up a lot of shelf space. Love getting things off the floor if possible. GOOD JOB!

I put my pasta boxes in a basket just like you did but I stand them upright. It acty works well! The sliding all fruit...lol! Great job!

I have a 'pasta' rack. I put pasta in 'tupperware' storage things and I put 2 or 3 basil leaves in them. I have never had trouble with 'weibles' (or whatever you call those little worm things that show up in pasta. I get taller 'spaghetti' storage thinks for the taller pastas. I store beans and rice this way too.

Paper plates, round trash can perfect for storage. My pasta I use the small glass jars , you can find at dollar tree. I also have loads of different pastas. I’m looking for something cute and for the countertop for bread. Love your video, I to am trying to reorganize for use, and also hope it looks good at the same time, but functional will win in the end.

When I only have a small amount of pasta in a particular shape, I put it in a large glass jar with other “leftover” shapes close to the same size with a tight lid, then for a noodle salad I boil them all together and I have an interesting (and entertaining 😁) looking dish that I can serve to kids or guests. And it also helps solve the multiple half-empty box problem in my pantry!

My pantry. Is very similar to yours and I added one more shelf at the top to hold lightweight items, like napkins, paper towels, large bulk items and items not used often. It really helped.

Thank you for sharing the "real" stuff with us. Love that! When I only have a small amount of pasta in a particular shape, I put it in a large glass jar with other "leftover" shapes - close to the same size - with a tight lid, then for a noodle salad I boil them all together and I have an interesting looking salad to serve my family or even my guests. And, it solves the multiple, almost-empty, box problem without wasting pasta. If you use a pretty jar and label it looks good on the counter or shelf, too. 😁

For this reason I buy what fits my life the best. I have too HUGE class jars for my flour and sugar that I sit on the counter for use when baking. I prefer to buy in bulk for those. Then I have plastic clear containers for pasta, rice, brown sugar, pancake mix etc. anything in a box goes in a basket and then snacks and such are macro organized in baskets. I like to blend practical with pretty. Like you said some things aren’t realistic.

i use 1/2 gallon mason jars. They come in a pack of 6 and average 2 dollars a jar or about 12 bucks. When you get down to a little bit in a jar i combine ones that cookthe same time in the same jar. Always put directions on back of jar with expiration date. Some tall skinny boxes take up less room kept in their boxes neatly on the shelf.

Great job organizing! This is the hardest part of my house..the pantry! It’s a love/hate relationship🥰😖

I recently found your channel and love it! I think it all turned out really good. I would keep the pasta in the basket if it was me. Honestly I just keep mine in the box it comes in because my husband doesn't eat it. I need a container for my tea. I also drink alot of tea and i have boxes just stacked on top of each other.

Mix all your partial pastas into one container mix well. Use in soups.

Big clear acrylic bins are good for big pasta boxes. Store them upright. Tall jars are great for storing long pasta like spaghetti.

I store my spaghetti noodles in a cereal container...I suppose you could use diff sized upright containers according to pasta size.♥️ the video!

We go through a lot of pasta and for the most part we keep it in very large glass jars (Fido Jars, with the glass tops).

I dump open pasta in mason jars. Then I can use a mason for lots of ideas. And they tend to not draw bugs as bad or if the box had bugs hatch from the store/factory they are contained in the jar.

I'm in the planning stage of tearing out my pantries 12" wide metal shelving and replacing the shelves with wood.

My solution for pasta starts at the store. Limit the “shapes” of pasta you use to 3-4 most common ones your family prefers in recipes. For example, for long noodles, I only buy spaghetti. If a recipe calls for angel hair or linguine, I just sub spaghetti. For tubular pasta, I stick with rigatoni instead of penne. And I stock a specialty shape like farfalle or shells, and don’t restock until it’s out. 80% of the time pasta shapes are easily substitutable. In addition It makes it easier for your family when shopping to not have to deal with as much choices. It also increases the chances the husband brings back the right type! And for the 20% of the time you absolutely need a specific shape, just buy what you need for the recipe. I store pasta in 1/2 gallon mason jars, and since I only stick to a few types, the number of jars is limited. In the meantime, enjoy the pasta you have! Think of it as an experiment to see what your family prefers and gravitates towards. Love your realistic pantry clean out! I’m inspired to do mine now!

I’m doing this at the moment (on coffee break atm) and I hate cereal boxes,and I don’t think anyone even eats in my household. LOL

My problem is I don't go through things quickly and once I take something out of the original package like flour I lose the expiration date.

Dollar tree has 38 oz clear plastic square containers with white lids. Also...they have 50 oz ones ..retangular/oval with kind of wavey side pattern. I'd put the pastas in there...Except spaghetti and lasagna...

Well you could get one of those big oxo containers or similar and put all the pasta in it. They mostly all cook the same time so if you're not really picky on which one you want at what time then add em together. I love using oxo containers but I always try to get the bigger size that will acrually fit the whole box or bag of whatever. No reason to have containers that don't fit the whole bag.

My problem with pasta is that if I put it in another container, I need the directions! So I just keep the boxes stacked nicely and some that are in plastic/saran type bags I will lay them all in another rectangle clear box. I also put my lazy susans (several) back in the corners....saves space
