Let's talk about how I use taping and masking to an advantage.... a demo of using a 3m hand masker is about 6 and a half minutes in. But watch all of it to see where and why we need to do so much masking (depending on the job of course).
I also do another talk/walk through about how this job was planned out, what I've done and finish off with it completed.
Mask up/Tape up.

I used to fight the 3M masking machine every day. But once I got the hang of it, I loved it. Great tip of hanging it from the bottom for the intricate shapes.

Great videos phil👌. What tape is your goto tape on top of your finished sprayed skirts when your emulsioning the walls

good question. Still using the Q1 tapes... The orange I used, or if I think there may be a problem the purple. A previous job I used otex akva grip primer/Uc over previous painted skirting, no matter what I put on it, the tape pulled off the original paint :( But if I have done the paint system on new wood, I have more faith knowing I could use the purple or orange and not have a problem..... the Q1 orange usually works fine TBH.

its the same machine as the gxff. the hose is the difference on what it can put out, mine has a thinner shorter hose (7.5m) and will do a max spray tip of .019. yours j]has a thicker 15m hose so it can do .021" tip size.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecoratorit's not possible to put the larger house and then use 0.021" spray tips on a gxff is it?

@@samrix5793 yes you can do. the unit is the same. the gxff is restricted with the tip due to the hose difference. I have a bigger machine (titan 440xt) if I need that size though.

Great question. I've not got one yet, but have been thinking about getting one.. again .. which to get. I know you out it in the room... Slinky snake tube goes out a door or window. You can get cooker hood extractor filters you can tape over the inlet of the fan to collect 'dust'.. that was you don't put dust spray all over the customer's car or garden outside lol

And overlap onto the next piece, then when you remove it should come off on one length.

Can I ask you a question - what is the brightest white paint for ceilings and wall Matt finish - also what's your view on Johnson's perfect matt.

oh, not an easy one... there seems to be loads of different WHITE colours! We like Tikkurila AR2 for ceilings, that's a good white. The way I look at paint is this, if it comes off on a damp wet sponge when you wipe it (when it's dry) it's not good for me, that's like having a cheap contract matt paint that's very igh in cheaper chalky pigments etc. More expensive paint will be less false opacity and shouldn't come off on a damp sponge etc. I've not tried the Perfect Matt...... normally if they are a flat matt finish it's because they lack a vinyl content that makes it harder wearing.... but saying that.. companies like Little Greene and farrow and Ball, do good flat finishes, these don't come off on a sponge though.... £80 a 5ltrs isn't cheap contract paint though lol

Can i use q1 tape on delicate surface mate, just use frog tape and it's pulling paint off walls making my life hell. Cheers mate good videos keep them coming 👍

Hi, don't worry I and others feel your pain!! Q1 purple is the delicate tape... try that.... BUT you may still have problems as it comes down to previous prep on the surface and how that's adhered when you put you paint on. A tip to make it less sticky.. take the length of tape.. and stick it to your t/shirt and pull it off, that reduces some of the stick..... it can make it a lot less sticky.. it'll depend on the tape you got. If you've done all the paint work from new, you do have a better chance that paint will stay on. It is a problem. It's not just you.

Helmi is interior paint. Everal Aqua is interior and exterior

@@RyanJones-lx8lv depnds on the colour.. white in anything struggles. But if you Uc and two top coat you're normally fine. Depends what finish you want, Helmi and Everal have different sheen levels.

Yes, a bit of tape and paper were needed then roll away, covering every square inch is a lot of hassle, each to there own

Yeah, I know, great finish with the sprayer, find it better to spray mist coat to walls, spray ceilings and woodwork, mask scurtains and roll walls

@@beecee6850 the walls had had polished plaster on them. Other rooms wash coat sprayed.. ceilings spray finish and woodwork sprayed. Wall, cut in and rolled.
