I just run lacquer thinner or paint thinner depending on the paint I am using the paint cup or jar till the paint is run through and I get a clear stream. The only time I dissemble the gun if I use a heavy paint or a more thorough cleaning is needed. I own about 7 guns. Anything from a binks to a badger to the one you use
I've tried just running thinner through it, but I find paint tends to build up and eventually clogs the mechanism. I usually end up taking it apart and cleaning it after each painting session. Sometimes I do just run thinner through between colors, though.
