i did a challenge on this myself for a video a few weeks ago and im surprised at how well the iPhone 6 holds up, i main an iPhone 7 so there was no difference in form factor, i had a 6 from 2017-2019 and it was just as good as i remember, aside from a few battery issues which i eventually fixed and then got the full performance after the performance management was turned off
using the iphone 6s plus as a backup everyday phone to this day on the latest ios 15.6 still usable no storage issues battery replaced so it can last during the day doesnt lag or anything not really suitable for gaming but it can handle some high end games even newer ones on medium graphics and would still be playable but it will get hot real quick obviously so you cant game much for long but in terms for daily uses such as social media and etc its still good and smooth as ever overall a really solid phone to this day the screen and home button hasnt been cracked or replaced just the battery for obvious reasons as my mom used to use this she is very careful with it so it still has all the original parts when it was first bought i really love it
I use my iPhone 6 running ios 12.5.5 as my second phone for youtube and other video sites, I don't understand how people bend their iPhone 6. It's performance is pretty ok for me because I always clear my resent apps so the 1 gb ram doesn't bother me. The other thing I like most about it is its size, it fits easily in my pocket and I could use 1 hand to type unlike my daily driver phone.
The iPhone 6 was my second phone and omg it is crazy to look back on it now. I upgraded from an iPhone 4 which even at the time seemed super old, (it wasn't). I did end up bending this phone in my back pocket leading me to upgrade to the iPhone 7 Plus!
the iPhone 6 was an good phone back in the day but what let’s it down is the 1GB of ram if it had 2GB of ram it would have 2GB of ram it would’ve got iOS 15
@@satsumagt5284 the iPad mini 4 was good back on iOS 15 but it couldn’t handle all of the features of iOS 16 because the cpu is too old and it would run like crap on iOS 16
Actually the A8 in the iPhone 6 was under clocked compared to the one in the iPad so it might’ve gotten 13 or 14 but nothing more than that if it had 2GB ram.
I got one stored in my iPhone bin , which I used a while because it was unlocked and I’m giving this to my older sister who is not tech savvy . It’s simpler to operate and navigate. I will upgrade to iOS 12 because of security but I hope the future upgrade will not degrade the phone like the older iPads did.
The iPhone 6 is overall still a good phone in 2022 and you’re able to use it like it’s the latest iPhone. It’s also a very smooth experience even in 2022, much smoother than a Nokia x20 running Android 12. However, as the phone has came out for years, the battery health could be a huge problem. I have an iPhone 6s from 2016 and it has a battery life of 85%, and it’s having some issues like sudden death.
iOS 12 is beginning to lose mainstream app support, older versions insist you update to a newer version it cannot utilize. It’s still surprisingly capable, but to call it a “good phone” when so many newer iterations outbest it is laughable
Had an iPhone 6 till 3 months ago, replacing it with iPhone 13. Unlike other people in the comments, my iPhone was kinda bad, for example it can crash easily while you are using discord, you can’t have google documents (iOS 13), the battery life is horrible. However I also liked something about the iPhone 6 more than the 13, for example the possibility to use headphones with “old cave” (or how it’s called), so you can charge the phone while listening to music, and iOS 12 can actually allow you to make a much easier Chinese App Store account, allowing me to download apps such as Douyin and various Chinese games (I’m Chinese).
@@Thebug_15 Yeh battery life has been improved a lot as well as it’s much faster now, then you can also get the iOS 16 that iPhone 6S will be no longer supported. However maybe wait for the iPhone 14? It will come out soon and iPhone 13 will be cheaper, or you can just buy the newest iPhone
My mom still uses her iPhone 6 only for listening to music and watching videos since she barley uses it but she only keeps it now since she upgraded to the XR 2 years ago almost 3 now and they’re both phones obviously and she thinks it doesn’t bother her much the speed but now she loves her XR as her main phone to this day, the iPhone 6 was definitely a legendary phone from its era
I am still using an iphone 6. I have never had a thought about "upgrading" as it still does everything I need it to do and a new one would not. I have never had an issue with it bending. Only thing I have ever had to do is replace the battery.
I still use my iphone 6 everyday. gone threw 3 screens and 2 batteries but its a great phone no issues what so ever. easy to fix and replace parts. does everything you need.
I still got a iPhone 6 on the side. It still has 100% battery life and wasnt replaced, and has IOS 1.12.6 was bought used from a friend! Still a good phone in 2022 although alot of Google Apps arent supported!
@@yaboireddis6531 mine is probably getting ready to in a little while. It’s at 78% capacity but I have an iPhone 14 now so may as well just ride it out until it dies completely
Im over here with my 11 pro max I got on launch date. Cracked back, scratched front, 78% battery health, dents on the sides, broken ultra wide camera for photos, (somehow works with video) not to mention the amount of freezing and random shutdowns. Going strong lol 💪🏼
i really loved my phone back in the day the only big problem i had was the battery but it was super comfortable and just pretty to mee specially i remember i loved the way it looked while playing music on spotify 😢
I still have my iPhone 6. Still working. Its the phone I use exclusively with money and bank transfers. very reliable even today. I switched to android now though.
It was probably pretty fast at iOS 8 but it should be fine in iOS 12 for most who haven’t heavily used it and drained the Battery or gotten it either second hand like me. Also, your correct about the weigh but the height is shorter on the iPhone 13 Pro to a iPhone 6 Plus, compare them again and see what Apple says too on compare iPhones (Not the display size, the section on Size and Weight^3. iPhone 6 Plus Height: 6.22 inches (158.1mm) and the 13 Pro Height: 5.78 inches (146.7 mm). For those who don’t believe me and have an iPhone 6 Plus and 13 Pro, compare the height of those phones WITHOUT cases to see what is taller.
I still have the 64 GB iPhone 6 base size and it’s running iOS 12 so I think I’m gonna buy a iPhone SE the new ones are so expensive like 849 in Canada for the iPhone 12?!
Ah, the iPhone 6. The phone I’m currently using right now, although it’s stuck on iOS 12.5.5 + limited apps available. Luckily, I got the highest end model of iPhone 6 Plus, 128 GB model.
I still use my iphone 6. except Wi-Fi and battery that they are changeable, it doesn't have any software problem and lag, it works like the first day! It's amazing! I love my iPhone!
I’m using my 6s plus 16gB for like 6yrs now, i still don’t have any issues, never changed my battery since day one(71%) . .still have a a long way to go. .😅😅😅
Omg, I can feel you!! 😭 I wish I could travel back to 2014's 16's those are my golden yrs!! 😍 today I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max in Green BUT I'd like give up on that & travel back in time with an iPhone 7 or 6s 😓❤️
I have iPhone 6 Plus and using it, it was great, sometimes it lags for some reasons, but that’s okay! + The storage and the battery was amazing! Except the App support. But anyways this is gonna be worth it if you love old techs or on a really budget nowadays.
I am using the iPhone 6 right now. It is my main phone. It is perfect and I wouldn’t get any other phone if upi(digital payment system in India) was supported on it and if I could use most apps on it.
I am using IPHONE 6S and it’s perfectly alright means I haven’t faced a single issue there are no big issues other than storage and volume……. And don’t even get me started on the camera…..it’s one of the finest cameras of the decade……I mean like u get the option of recording in 4K in 30 FPS, that isn’t bad at all and u get to 1080P quality for normal photos…..only thing M sad about is the lack of long exposure photo feature
I am currently using an iPhone 13, but my previous phone was an iPhone six. For me an iPhone 6 was a great phone, the only issue I had on it was that to home button. It wouldn’t work therefor I used to side button to open it.
I’m still using my iPhone 6 s the only current problem I have now that the original battery is going and replacing other iPhone battery no longer last. She’s old but still gives me what need at 2002,:)
I’m using iPhone 7 too. It’s not slow and it can handle a lot of thing stable but why Apple didn’t bring iOS 16 to iPhone 7? It’s enoughly powerful for iOS 16 update.
I think the iPhone 6 box is the worst. Fortunately, the one from 6s was normal again. Do you know when the Emojis Design changed? And in the App switcher, I thought the contacts above were great, with the Apple Watch they were also fast accessible. I have also an iPhone 6 in Gold with an older Version, 10.3.3. Is yours jailbroken, because I saw IPA installer at 2:49
I knew someone who had an iPhone 6. They got it when it was still the newest iPhone. Sadly, they had to replace it in 2017 because they dropped it and the board inside the phone actually broke.
I’ve been using an iPhone 6 Plus for almost 5 years and I have yet to get a single crack. I’ve dropped it, throws it, drowned it the whole lot. It still works. There is no lag and the only issue is the batter. It’s been 5 years. What can you expect.
im using iphone 6 since 2015 and its still a great phone it stills feells good still can make a call still does your daily 32gb is still enough and yes its still useable
