In the run-up to COP26, we asked our researchers to tell us about their work and the challenges of tackling climate change.
Wayne Binitie is a final year PHD student at the Royal College of Art. Wayne’s research focuses on how hidden histories are written in polar ice. Using art, science and engineering, Wayne has invited people from a generic audience to discuss polar history as it is a very complex subject.
“The AHRC funding has enabled me to explore the icicle laboratories at the British Antarctic Survey as a vital, yet critically under explored, source of polar history. Our polar zero exhibition is part of a global conversation at COP26. We hope to provoke a deeper awareness of our relationship with glacier past, present, and future” says Wayne.
