@@BakerWx man you're a real monster commenter. The bait selection and water quality is pretty bad where you are huh? Perhaps you should try new tackle, or a new spot. See you later buddy 🤗 Be blessed y'all 🙏
@@CreatureOfGoddess The fishing is actually top notch where I am, don't know why you'd make the assumption it isn't. And sorry if I offended you for pointing out the stupidity of a comment.
I love your videos mostly because you show what EVERY fisherman goes through, no editing out the smaller fish, or when you fall, or any of the imperfections which go with this incredible sport. You also catch, again, what we ALL do when we think the fish at the end of the line isn't as big as we thought it was. Thanks for keeping everything as real and true to life as it actually is. See ya later, buddy!
Haha circle hook strikes again. Don’t set the hook. Leave it in the rod holder until the rod loads up completely. Then just keep strong tension. Everytime you set the hook you yank the hook out of its mouth. Use a J hook if you want to set the hook
Helpful hint covor lots of water and vary retrieves from fast moderate and slow. Try 3 casts per spot. That way you can get the 3 different variations of speeds to what fish will respond. Important especially when it's hot to covor the edge of covor if you don't have braid. Points pockets and drops from shallow to deep. If it's cooler try fishing areas with rock or that's muddy. If you get bites in those 3 casts fish area 10 minutes then move. If you get no bites keep moving and use the variety of retrieve speeds fast medium and slow. Use each retrieve speed with each cast fast, medium or slow. Trust me doing this helps.
Nick hands down best fishing adventures on the web. Your enthusiasm and dedication to the sport are unparalleled. Keep them coming brother tight lines to you
My fiance and I really enjoy watching you Nick. Especially when we try and figure out what your location is. For the most, we can figure out where it is your fishing at. We are from Illinois. Thank you for all the ups and downs you have along your adventures. Keep it real brother. And "FISH" on!👍👍
You gotta be patient with those circle hooks friend! Just wait and when it’s had it for a while then reel up the slack and keep it under tension. The hook needs time to move to the side of the mouth, turn to the side and slide into position and the under pressure the hook turns and the point goes in. If you pull too hard too soon, then the round edges just slides right out of the mouth without catching and turning into the side of the mouth. Cheers!
You are a great fisherman, honest and humble, and yes I fall too...You have alot of respect, do not lose that..I enjoy your videos as you and your sense of camera grow...Keep up the great work, was those bowfin or bourbot?????
Never in my life have I seen so many bowfin congregated before. I’ve caught maybe 2-3 in my lifetime and this guy is catching them just about every cast. Love the videos. Just like to see some giant catfish at some point.
Seriously bro I love your videos. I've been binge watching them and they're all amazing. Keep the videos coming and if you can give out tips on what exactly you use it would really help out us newer fishermen. Thanks 😁
You are my favorite fisherman to watch. I spend a lot of time watching you. You are such a nice guy and I love your respect for the inhabitants of the water. Just a joy to watch.
Omg thank you for leaving in when you slip and stuff.. I’ve needed a good laugh for awhile.. thank you so much.. I’m still cracking up thinking about it.. that little snapping turtle was probably laughing at you 😅😅😅 ❤❤❤
One of the problems I have with big baits is the bait itself crowds the hook. I try to make it so the bait can easily slide up the line if a fish gets hooked. Easy to lose a fish if the hook can't really penetrate. Love your videos!
6:44...that HAD to hurt...filming entertainment for strangers can be painful at times...🤣 Thanks for sacrificing your wellbeing for our entertainment Nick!
Normally if I'm using circle hooks, I wouldn't strike/ yank cos simply unnecessary to circle hooks will almost certainly set itself right at the side of the mouth of the fish where it was designed to. Matter of fact I have lost lots of fish when I include strike movements when using circle hooks. If you are using other hooks like octopus, live bait, bottom hooks etc then u might wanna include strike movements in these kinda hooks.
Love your videos! Been watching your channel for about a year now. One thing I thought was super funny about this video though: Nick: "I am going to move to that sandy beach area, looks like lots of fish activity right in front of it." *Nick walks to the sandy beach then casts 30 yards downstream lol
Traveling to remote areas equipped with all the 📷 🎥 and a little bit of everything it's pretty obvious this one right here is a genuine one-man army 💪💪👍👍...
@@Whitemale69 i would like to see some hodden ponds/creeks or tiny lure challanges i mean, some of the spillway videos are really good, but others, really rather boring, even when he catches way larger fish as at said challenges
Everytime i watch one of these videos im at the edge of my seat waiting for a monster bass to take one of your livebaits. Its only a matter of time buddy
Use a slip bobber and hold it just off the bottom. Seems to work for me. Seems like they prefer it on bottom do holding it just a bit up stops them but not the catfish.
I absolutely love using my ugly Stik lite rod. Use a long spool casting reel and about 15 pound test. Really learn to use drag makes for an incredible fight
Hay there 618 fishing, been watching for awhile now and I thinks its great yeah loads of good big fish and the nice music. All make for a fun time by the river.
I literally have a 618 area code and can’t catch a bowfin anywhere around me, I really want to though because obviously they are around here but anyways another great video my man 🤙🏻
My wifes favorite channel! Besides flair lol And she dont even fish. Gonna be another great video!!!! Sit back... relax... enjoy... See ya later buddy 👊🏼
As a Marylander who wants to catch that particular species for my lifelist, I'm a bit envious when I see these videos and Nick's reeling in bowfin after bowfin.
i think a circle hook is your arch nemesis... gotta break the setting hook habit, hell you even set the hook on the rod that went off in the automatic hook setter LMAO
Damn my friend , you are quite a film maker , in my opinion, your build up, driving and drone shots/scenes/parts is tremendous, some of the tunes😱, but I still really enjoy your pod cast/show it's great, stay safe ! Keep fishin! I also enjoy the fact you will fish any n all species great or small.
Joe Vazquez Alr get his email for me, I’d love to see someone get out her the beginner problem of hooking fish and atleast watch him fight some, glad to help an angler out🤙👍
Man Nick you were really catching those big bowfin on those small live bluegills! Great video man! I really like your spillway videos. Keep on doing your thing!
Dont think he can catch much else, they seem to be the bullheads of my area!! But he keeps saying IVE NEVER SEEN THIS TYPE OF BOWFIN LIKE THESE! well for 1 hes not very experiences and it shows and 2 the markings on those fish look alot like the ones on the BULLSEYE SNAKEHEADS I just dont see the pointed head or the big teeth.
Loved watching your fishing video, reminds me of when the earth was young and I was dumb! I laughed so hard through some of your experiences - keep up the great work
Love early spring Bowfin fishing. Some of the green and blue colors are insane early spring. I consider them "worthless", but man they are great fun (like carp fights) to catch.
