How I use greenstuffworld rollers to make my bases and scenery

Your base work is really well done. It adds a whole other dimension to the model both in terms of story telling and the technical side of taking the model to the next level. Love the content , keep it coming and we will all keep watching!!

This video was a lifesaver, had my first experience of using both milliput and the roller and was a little intimidated (and I did it very wrong the first time) but now my base looks loads better 😅

Thanks for the tutorial. I have many of those rollers, only some of them got some use so far. Excited to use them all! Any idea how the use of vaseline will impact "paintability"?

I’ve never had a problem so far, I only use a very light coat though so very little goes on the green stuff. Could be worth giving the finished article a wipe if there’s excessive residue.

Use cornstarch. No water . Dont worry about the level of the milliput . Trick is not to let it stick to the roller . The roller will push it level . Dry technique is better . Clean roller with a toothbrush . Try it youll thank me.

I'm curious how you make the bubbles in pool of green slime - are they plastic beads?

It’s little balls of milliput from the base excess, when dry I clipper the bottom off them and glue them down with superglue, makes a nice bubbling effect.

An alternative is those silica beads in dry packs that come with lots of merchandise. Check out Vince Venturella's channel!

Can I use these accessories on large polystyrol surfaces?

I’ve not done it personally but have been told that you can, the only limiting factor I can see is the size of the rollers as I have had issues on large areas in matching patterns (doable but tricky) they do sell large rollers for a bit more money so on large areas I would go for them.

How do you clean the small dry bits of green stuff out of the grooves in the roller?

If you get to them before it dries I find an old toothbrush and soap works, if it’s dried you can pick it out with a hobby knife/sculpting tool, the roller is made of tough plastic so you shouldn’t damage the roller.
