I know quite a bit about amp sims... but I always learn something new with these videos. I never new I could just drag effects around like that. Super handy!!!!

Best to create two channels to record the clean input as well as the wet (with input fx). That way you can always change the sound later or try different modelling/hardware amps and fx

Thanks for showing how to load a cab sim in ReaVerb. I was missing the zero latency tab and play command. That and the Input FX vs Track FX demo was helpful

Wow! I didn't know Blue Cat Audio had a free amp sim. Gotta try that one out. I have used the convolution amp/cab plugin in conjunction with Lepou amp sims so far. Great video Kenny!

I'm primarily a guitar player who also produces so I have a bunch of amp heads at my home setup so I don't generally use amp modelling, but this is really great to learn. Didn't know reaper could do this...thanks kenny

Pete Thorn has looked into cab IR's before and says the sweet spot is 20ms. Below 18, you start to lose alot of the pleasing reverberations and longer you're picking up reverberations from the room. Just FYI the next time you're looking at a guitar cab IR.

Okay Reaper is officially the best DAW hands down. I've been trying all kinds of amp sims for months. The FREE ones built into Reaper are as good or better than all of them.

Hi, Kenny! I'm having issues when mixing guitar tracks using 3rd party amp sims. There's always an input delay or a slight mute when starting playback. I've read some issues posted on the forum regarding flushing fx. Tried it but to no avail. I'm using Neural DSP's Archetype and mixing it with dry guitar tracks. My cursor is at the very start of the transient. Everytime I press playback there's a small delay before the audio is heard. However, the issue disappears when playing it back before the transient (even by a 16th of the grid). I already tried adjusting buffer size but it's all the same. I don't think it's a buffer issue at all. Still leaning towards Reaper having a delay when processing the audio signal every playback with 3rd party amp sims. Do you have any suggestions for a fix? Thanks in advance! PS - Just tried unticking "anticipative fx processing" and the issue seems to be gone. I kept the Global setting turned on and just selected "prevent anticipative fx" on certain tracks. Just read about this feature and still trying to learn more about this feature. But as of now, this seems to have resolved my issues using 3rd party amp sims on my mixes. Hopefully, you could post an in-depth look into this on your future video. Again, thanks for all the lessons regarding REAPER!

Your screen looks different than what I gave is has ot changed that much in 3 years.

Also a good tip is to use MDA Psuedo Stereo And Stereo Width JS to widen out and give you a surround sound feel.

I recently tried the blue cat free amp download. Unfortunately my computer rather harshly rejected the plugin. I had to use a force force stop, restart to get my system to chill out so I could remove all the blue cat files. It wasn't the first time my system popped a gasket over a free plugin, so I took the experience as par for the course.

Thank you I've been struggling to start out. I heard that potato sound and it made me mad for days :D Finally I've found out there is an easy way to simulate an amp!

I just got my first interface and DL'd Reaper a few days ago and it looks different now I guess. I'm having trouble doing what you're doing there.

The output was extremely noisy and dirty, I'm sure you could've used a noisegate or something. The end result ended up sounding like blasting your speakers either way. But either way, cheers.

Thanks for the video. I didn't know about "printing" the FX - the video mentions the downside is that it's less flexible. What's the advantage to printing the FX?

Hi there , Anyone have any clue why all.of my distortion plugins have waay to much feed back when I run them . It is to the point where I cannot mininimize the feed back even after messing around with the gain knobs on the interface and reducing the settings on an EQ driver

I have a question.. I use Reaper to record hower, when I record via Pod Hd500... the recorded guitar part feels like it has a lot of reverb when actually the reverb is off... The guitar part is not 'in the face' but feels like the recording is done from far off... Please help Any suggestions will be helpful

I try the js distortion but i just get buzzing. Using a zed10 mixer with wave out usb codec. I tried asio but doesn't work at all. I'm just having a hard time using vst plugins.

Confused. At 5:15 isn’t the Celestion 4x12 IR just a cabinet model and not an amp model? In other words don’t you still need an amp? I am extremely new at this so really need some basic guidance. Thanks.

Good vid Kenny. Anyone else having this issue? I love reaper but when i use Guitar rig and Grind machine sims , palm muted play is gutless and replaced by screeching fuzz . This does not happen when guitar rig is in stand alone mode!!?? ......Any ideas People...?
