Thanks Steve! I have been wondering how to do this for a long time. Been using HDSDR in place of UNO for contests because of the issues you mention. I wanted to use HRD Logbook with freq tracking. Now I can use my software of choice....UNO!!

I think I missed that it has to be the kenwood model. I thought that was the actual radio you were using.

I went ‘round and ‘round with trying to get my IC-7300 setup to have HRD control SDRuno, which, in turn, then controls the rig. At about 4:38 (scrub position) into the video the discussion moves to the part where one sets up the HRD, and it is shown that one would just create a NEW preset. Well, after digging through comments, I found that SDRplay had replied to Paul K5VOP's issue, as follows: "Paul K5VOP watch again! HRD does NOT control the rig, it controls SDRuno which looks like a TS-480 to HRD." As soon as I configured HRD to be a new Preset that was composed as a Kenwood TS-480, everything worked!! The intuitive thing I had been doing was trying to create a New Preset that was for my Icom IC-7300, and using the virtual serial port. It was not clear that “SDRuno .. looks like a TS-480 to HRD”. So, it appears that, REGARDLESS OF THE RIG, one must ALWAYS create the New Preset in HRD Connect to be a KENWOOD TS-480, to match what SDRuno “looks like” from HRD. I hope this helps others. Helpful but how does the computer know to associate com 10 or 11 to the actual com port of the radio and not another com port on the PC?

I am trying to connect SDR UNO to HRD, specifically to use HRD Satellite Tracker to control the frequency. I tried to set up HRD to connect to a virtual pair port 12 and the SDR UNO to virtual port 11. No luck even though they are both set to 57600 baud. Is there another way I should be ding this?

With this configuration running together with my Kenwood 590sg, how can I then use sdruno on its own to monitor vhf airband when the PCs audio i/o is configured for wsjtx. Hence no sound/ audio out of the PC?

What if we dont have OmniRig setup already?? Where elsewhere is the setup of OmniRig been covered well elsewhere?? I'm not finding any good info on that! I'm brand new to this and trying to set up an IC-7000 to work with both SDRUno and HRD. It works fine with HRD but haven't found any good info yet on setting up Omnirig with SDRUno! Need a little guidance!!

OK...... Ive wandered off into the puckerbrush! Trying to make this work with my FTDX101MP. SDRUNO works fine. HRD starts, but after a few moments it loses the connection, then wont reconnect. Im sure i have settings goofed up by now. Omnirig is at COM13. SDRUNO is at COM16 using paired port from VSP. HRD is at COM15 using paired port from VSP. HRD is at Kenwood TS-480. Any ideas?

Well everything works with SDRuno but unfortunately still does not sync to HRD, frequency only changes on radio and SDRuno. Also, now my radio randomly starts TX for no reason. The video is great, very easy explanation and setup but for some reason it isn't syncing mine, i've gone through it twice. Could be because HRD doesn't have a setting for my ftdx101D but I was told to use 991. But this setup works when just using HRD so I am stumped.

Great video Steve. Please note, however, that while frequency tracking works very well, not all of HRD's CAT commands are handled successfully through VSPE. For example, switching the rig's antenna between ANT 1 and ANT 2 doesn't work, and switching between IF filters A and B doesn't work. There are many other examples of CAT commands not working, but also note that some CAT commands do work. Go figure.

The only way I can get this to work with my FT 5000 is to tell it I have a Kenwood TS2000. The Yaesu has no CTS setting and I'm guessing that is the problem. HRD works alone to the Yaesu and Omni rig also can connect to the Yaesu and both can control but I cannot control SDRuno with HRD unless I tell it I have a Kenwood. I think it will do what I need this way. N8HMG

Hello, Steve: Good to see that HRD and SDRuno can work well together. Does this mean that we can also use HRD's logbook function provided within HRD to log what we listen to on various bands?

I have hrd connected to the ic7300 usb com port. I also have a 7300 civ com port which is used by wsjt-x when I'm working digital. If I'm on ssb, and not using wsjt-x, would there be a conflict with hrd if I connected sdruno to the civ com port?

I have a question, do you need to connect the antenna to SDRplay, or just a USB connection is enough

Yes that is fine HRD and SDRuno is slinked but but neither is controlling my ham radio which is not a TS 480. How can a G90 which has a totally different COMM number be controlled? HA9FMR

It says eterlogic.com is blocked for trojan. Is there another option?
