I like how you do your demolition neatly and orderly. Makes clean up easier and enables the reuse of much of the materials.

There appears to be to be no end to your talents you two , and the depth and breadth of your commitment to your beautifully developed sense of the aesthetic.I remember first being struck with your wide range of interests when you bravely entered that large covered scary water-tank in the courtyard and spoke of its future for holding fish .Then seeing the number of beautiful trees and shrubs accumulating in pots waiting for their permanent homes .These living things need tender time consuming care along with your fish and cats and now we see Bonsais! Your landscaping projects are already underway while your house renovation continues inexorably. You are talented jugglers with so many balls up in the air . When your house is ready to inhabit you will almost have everything right there to be able to move a few things about to create your courtyard garden of eden.❤

This is so exciting! Have you considered putting the bathroom in the currently smallest corner next to the stairs? That would give you three approximately equal-sized bedrooms and one still quite generous bathroom. Alternatively, have you considered putting the hallway to the attic stairs on the other side of the bathroom wall, so the small corner bedroom can be a bit bigger since it would no longer be sacrificing space to the hallway? It just seems like bathrooms don't need much of a footprint, but bedrooms where you store your clothes and need to be able to walk all the way around the bed might.

i have watched you save and store so many materials, lots and lots of bricks, over the years. Your commitment to recycling is to be commended but the question is "When, and on what, will you start reusing them.

Oh, that's right. Those bricks are not going to carry themselves out of there. How wonderful the bonsai displays are! I lived in Japan as a child and fell in love with the tiny, perfect trees and the imaginary tiny creatures that lived among them! I had a big blue pottery dish with a pine tree and a dry stream running next to it. There was a tiny moon bridge over the stream.

These Bonsai trees were wonderful, and it takes long time and effort to get such results, so I can justify the prices asked, for all the work and admiration there is in from the person or even generations of owners shaping it and caring for it. The exhibition center (Limburghallen, Genk) is very familiar to me, I have been taking part in exhibitions with the model railway club I'm member of and also a couple of privately owned model railway layouts many times there. But these trees are real living models!

Good to see you using knee protection. Your 50 year old body will thank you! With walls down the space appears huge. At 2:35 into the video I notice an overhead beam with a long diagonal crack leading down to the center of the beam, which is it's weakest point. Was a removed wall supporting that beam?

Reclaimed old brick is extremely expensive in America. I’d definitely reuse that brick on the new walls as a veneer. You’ll get the same effect by cutting the front & back off of the brick with a wet saw. You’d hang it like you would wall tile. It’d look like the wobbly wall but safe!

Just an idea, you can use EPS blocks, they can be sticked to the wall with a proper glue or stacked like the concrete blocks. also you can create a drywall with wood o steel frame and fill that with isolation (PUR or Glass wool) Don't know wich one is cheaper, but could be easier to mount. Anyways, great job! I follow your job from the last 2 years!

I don't know the name of the materials, and I know you couldn't possibly take the rotating drum upstairs. But wouldn't it be easier if you at least mixed the "mortar" product upstairs since you only use a drill mixer? Still, I shouldn't question your methods. Your perfectionism speaks for itself. Even caught Annika checking out the work site.

Recommend that you paint/seal the walls first before you cover them up with insulation. That way you will help to keep the dust down. The walls will simply "shed" dust by natural expansion and contraction.
