In this final installment of how I protect my trees from freezing via overhead irrigation, you'll see lots of ice accumulation. A little too much actually. Fortunately the trees I'm growing are strong, and bendable, otherwise the damage incurred would have been much worse. All in all, we came out very well, with only a few branches broken from the weight of the ice accumulation. The Garcinias, Jaboticabas, and Eugenias all seemed to handle the freezing very well. Lots of sleep lost, propane tank freezing, icicle breaking, smudge pot lighting, xmas fun. I hope you learn something new and useful.
