My friend is still using it and he says it's the best phone he's ever had and he has no plans replacing it. Such an amazing and revolutionary phone! The next best Poco was surely the X3 Pro! Already miss those days when Poco slayed
I had a pocophone f1 for some time for the price is the best flagship performance you can get at the time and the phone died on me late 2021 i really liked the phone and now i am using a poco x3 pro and i love it
I was using a Poco F1 from 2019 until 2021 and it was honestly the best experience I've ever had on a phone up to this day. The "flagship killer" name is getting thrown around left and right nowadays but I believe it is one of the few phones genuinely worthy of the title. Building around a current generation flagship as its centerpiece, Poco did a great job with the rest of the phone. Excellent build quality, decent speakers, lasting battery, a quick and secure fingerprint reader, and a HEADPHONE JACK. The cameras are also hugely underrated (I was using GCam mods the entire time so I can't speak for others) but damm they were good, to the point where people are asking me whether I was using an iPhone or a DSLR camera. I also loved when it was easy transferring data between the main and second space, I guess android restricted that feature now. It was the first time that I've had a flagship-level device and it performed well beyond my expectations, that I never looked back at cheap phones and made me always look for the best value ones. The only regret I have with the Poco F1 is that I didn't try to get the maxed out variant with 256gb of storage and that kevlar back. Holy. I sold it last year with a broken screen (although everything else was working fine), I had to replace it as I was running out of storage as I only had the base variant. I've used the Mi 11 and the S20 FE since, but I still believe that the Poco F1 gave me the best experience on a phone. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that Poco has been doing a great job with its phones especially with the F line, with the F3 and F4 both being great value phones although I haven't had them. Right now I'm looking to get the Xiaomi 13, Redmi K60 (possibly Poco F5/Pro), or maybe switching to Apple.
Still using the Pocophone F1 (as of today 6th Mar. 2023). I bought it in Sept., 2018 shortly after release. I have really taken good care of it from the beginning {my previous phone was the Samsung s5}. My battery is still taking me through the day and I keep my battery-charge between 85% to 25%. SO many thing I really like which, sadly, we don't see in cellphones today; esp. the 3D IR face-unlock even in pitch-black darkness, not to mention the 'still hanging-on' 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint button in the rear and the size (6,18"); sweet spot. I'm seriously looking forward to the Pixel 7a when it arrives in late-May/June, however I really would enjoy some recommendations of a 2023 phone which would be "the newer twin" to the F1, ...thanking you, anyone, in advance. 💕
I can't even remember using this phone😂😂 I think I gave it to one of my cousin. But great phone I must say in its own time. I love Poco, even for the fact that I have top of the line iphone and flagship Android, I'm still using my Poco F3 as my daily driver. MIUI all the way. Oh how could I have forgotten the awesome daughter of yours, so of course she knew the outro ❤️😅
My F1 is still in use till this day. Waiting for the F5 to consider after the first. Hoping that one stacks up to my expectations. But even then I hope to have the F1 as a backup device. It is truly a trail blazer and I am glad for it.
My mom loved this phone until the moment she decided to take a photo in the car... it went flying by the window at 130kmh 😂. Sure it got destroyed, but I was still able to use the display and transfer all of her photos until it died. Great phone!
I picked mine up around october 2018 and still using it today. Just recently had to change the battery and it was good to go. Will be sticking with this one for a longer time before I end up buying a new one.
Sold it to my friend as an upgrade for his ancient smartphone..i think it's from 2015-2016 like that..but then my little brother bought Poco F1 2nd hand from stores..seeing him using it happily makes me kinda missing my sold Poco F1 tho..but yeah seeing my friend who bought that phone from me that also happy with it makes me happy myself..this phone is still in memories till now as my 1st experience with flagship performance SoC..
It launched in the last week of August in 2018. I bought it from the first sale and received it on 29th Aug. Just a week ago I upgraded to Galaxy S23 ultra from Poco F1. I loved POCO F1 but last month i faced the first hardware issue, which was related to the volume key . I got that volume key replace in just $16 and it's working fine now. Other things i noticed that phone got slower overtime with updates, even from the MI's app updates. Even with time battery performances also degraded. I thought that with the time processor and battery had become weak because of excessive gaming. I also tried flashing but the performance didn't improve. Yeah its still usable but not as fast as it was used to be. Recently, I rooted it to pixel rom and found out that SD845 is still performing awesome. It was MIUI which degraded the performance. I will suggest to install custom ROM, If you still want that flagship like fast performance from POCO F1.
Bought it from AliExpress on this day exactly 5 years ago. I bought the 6gb ram/128 gb rom version and I have been using it ever since. The Snapdragon 845 has aged really well
Saw your initial review of the Poco F1, bought the phone, as well as the Poco F2 Pro I use the Poco F1 on & off just to admire it & still believe it has solid camera performance with Gcam installed. As an Iphone user, must say that face unlock is wicked fast ! It was truly a revolutionary phone that made me fall inlove with android ❤
I have it and I was thinking on changing to F4 but didn't get very convinced and just got a battery change and everything is good, I'm thinking on changing ROM to AwakenOS 13, I'm in Pixel Experience 12
@@FrankieTech btw. Someone was using your name in the last raffle, replied in my comment claiming that I won. Saying contact him through telegram, dont know if it is really u.
I didn't have luck with it. My pne had the display problem where it had ghost touches and sometimes it didn't even respond to getures and touches. I really wanted to love it. It was a great phone. The camera was awesome with gcam and the battery was amazing. Sadly i had to give it away the touch issue was too frustrating. If not for that i would have loved it.
I'm still using the F1, 4,5 years as my main phone. Replaced my battery last year, but reverted back to the original one. The replacement battery I got wasn't good, and it probably only has half the charge of the original one. I'm thinking about replacing it soon with a x5 Pri or F5 or Redmi Note 12 pro and continue to use it for media consumption at least. But I may end up using it for one more year it still holds up with occasional stutters and lags in certain application. Best phone I ever had. Period. I love everything about it and especially the design (barring the notch). If they would rerelease it with Android13 I'd buy it.
There are couple of time poco took so many pics better in my phone but need good lighting and can you show options in the edit which received so many updates. 😁
I still have this phone as my second / backup device and the only real withdrawn and main reason I changed it, is that after A LOT of rough usage, the battery started to decline (it used to make 1,5-2 day battery under heavy use when I got it), but now barely makes it a half day. Despite that was by far one of the best and VFM phones I have ever bought. I wish Xiaomi/ Poco continued to make similar phones nowadays.....
Oh man, I remember that one or two friends of mine I know on Discord used this phone when it came out. I never had an opportunity to get one cuz I wasn't a fan of a notch back in my old times. For the price, the value is actually so insane back in the day. Nowadays, there's still a good custom ROM support for it. Poco F1 is I gotta say, the greatest budget flagship of 2018.
Agreed with that! Yeah the notch was polarizing, but honestly it made room for the excellent 3D Face ID equivalent, just such an awesome feature that still works flawlessly to this day. A truly epic release!
Gave it to my mom, still running like a beast, after flashing some stock rom. The community support is amazing. The fact that this phone is no-nonsense, it's just unrivaled. Cracked your housing? Replace it, super cheap. I've also replaced the LCD which is also inexpensive
I am still using as of December 2023. It is still a solid phone for basic use and low demanding gaming. Not to mention that physically still holds up (mine is navy) and in my opinion, the design still holds up even with some elements that obviously dates it, like the infamous notch. Sticking to the design, this is something that I have yet seen somebody mention and maybe it's just me that really like it, but there is this metallic color thin border that separates the back from the screen that I really love and I feel gives it a unique look. This is the phone that has lasted me the longest and giving the usual cycles people go through phones, I sometimes stop and look in amazement that this thing still freaking runs after all these years (I got it at launch by the way). Now, to be honest, I've had very rare hiccups (2-3 times a year) where it would seem to not load the icons on screen and I need to restart but outside of that, it still runs smoothly for basic daily functions. I think I might upgrade in 2024 but I am certainly keeping this baby as a backup. Long live the Poco F1!
Its my main phone till now about 5years its the best gcam almost all modders all versions working on it we have galaxy 52s and reno 6 with my family and my camera still the best games works on highest graphics the only downside is the display when you turn off reading mode it got smooky around edges , the wifi and signals strenght isnt good,( miui is trash) other than that its daaaaamn good for the price
Still using it , battery was almost dead so replaced it last week! Stock MIUI after 12 update became crappy. So , custom is the way to go. Currently running PixelPlus UI on A13 super smooth
The best thing is the IPS LCD screen! It won't get any burn in like all of the AMOLED displays after some years. You can use it another 4-5 years and the display would still be perfect 😁 Btw using f3 and planning to sell it and buy F5 Pro (Redmi K60), but we'll see 😅
I got the S23 ultra but still using my PocoF1 as my secondary phone. Still works great after 4 years. Battery got bloated and changed to a new one. Now working as new.
Still using my F1 as my main device, planning to switch away now since it's lacking NFC, brighter LED screen and OIS. I think a phone of this age should have had NFC from the beginning, I mean come on it has the top tier SoC of 2018, as well as OIS at least, should've not been that hard to put OIS since it has the same camera sensor as the Mi 8 (a top tier device).
Wow what a great timing I just replaced the battery of this Poco F1 like a minute ago. This is now my son's after using it for 4 years upgraded to an F3. Watching from a Poco F1, amazing phone still snappy and my son loves this phone especially he games a lot. Awesome awesome awesome.
I am still using it since 2018 when it came out. It is one of the best phones ever. I just yesterday replaced my battery cause the old one wasnt getting me through the day. Replaced it myself in about 30 minutes with no problems. Now its like new and i plan on using it for a long time to come.
yes i am still using it !!!! btw there is still AOSP custom Rom as Pixel experience feature from many devs and that's crazy stable and Android 13 even now OTA updates are there, the devs are incredibly good.
Got this phone in November 2019. Definitely the best phone I've ever used. It got busted for a while and I had to use a Redmi Note 10 Pro for some time. Just wasn't anywhere close to this beast of a phone. Sold it and fixed my F1. Now going strong with Project Elixir custom ROM. Using GCam, this phone's camera is amazing. And I feel like having Android 13 has upped the camera performance too.
Mine's display is toasty but the good thing is that I have a USB attachment that you can connect the phone to an HDMI display and I am using my Poco F1 as an android tv like device for my movie streaming and retro games
Got mine in January 2019 and still using it ! The phone is still quite decent despite slowing down sometimes and decreased battery performance which is not surprising. the only deal breaker for me is that the memory slot is not working so I only depend on the internal memory.. As of today, I only have 2 Gb left.. I'm thinking of maybe switching to the S23 ultra.
Empty your storage to make like atleast 50 GB free and viola, the phone becomes exactly like new. I did it and the battery life and performance is back to normal.
My wife has had her Poco F1 for nearly 5 years now and is just thinking of upgrading although it still does all she needs. The original battery started bubbling up but I managed to replace it for her and the phone still functions great!
I brought mine on the day of release in India and it is by far the best phone I've ever used..if only I could use it forever.. I've moved countries and all the paperwork i got it done on my Poco f1, no laptop was needed. Its aged well now and it served me well and beyond for the price and it's time for me to part ways ... Currently switching to pixel 8 but Poco f1 will always be my best phone ever!
Looks like a great looking device, Never had the F1 but you sparked me and I threw a sim in my Redmi Note 9s. Xiaomi is SO smooth. I may have to grab a Poco X5 Pro 5G.
I'm still using the F1 since Dec 2018. The best phone I had that lasted almost 5 years! The only problem I have is that the battery is going low fast. Is it worth to change new battery or should I upgrade to a newer Poco? If yes which one is a great replacement for the F1?
I broke the original screen and have it fixed with an lcd replacement from shopee. The screen quality has never been the same. No other problems experienced. Bought a 12t pro yesterday as my main phone
I still am using one. Prior to it I was using the Razer Phone 1, and was to upgrade to Razer Phone 2 in 2018, but I had an accident so I only had money left for the Pocophone F1. Nevertheless, it was the best ever decision I made about tech. This still blows out of the water today's mid-rangers so I am not really compelled to replace it anytime soon. I used to upgrade every year and was hooked to Samsung's note series from the very first one. Then I got tired of the curved edge displays, likewise the greenish tint that AMOLED displays develop overtime so in 2017 I took up the Razer Phone 1, which was an LCD and the first phone with 120Hz refresh rate display outside of Japan. The LCD in Razer Phone 1 though was not that good so I doubted my decision on switching from AMOLED. Then came the Pocophone F1. By today's standards of course it is not the best anymore, but the screen held up its color accuracy all these years. Even its battery held up pretty good- with the Note series the battery is noticeably degraded after only a few months, while the Pocophone F1 still gives me around 6 hours of screen on time, that's only 2 hours less from previously 8 hours SOT I was getting when it was new, and this is after almost 5 years! My only complaint since day 1 was that Netflix can never be streamed in HD. I also dropped it countless of times and the only thing it can show for it is a tiny scratch on the bottom right hand corner of the frame. I am planning to keep using it until it croaks.
Watching this right now at my newly bought 2nd hand Pocophone. After 3.5 years this is my first time having a Flagship phone and all i can say is, it was really the best.
Not sure what you mean "why no other android phone got it". LG had it in his G8. Huawei in their whole Mate lineup. The Mate 50 Pro brings back the notch even with the 3D face unlock. That btw. can also be used for payment and unlocking files and apps for biometrics just like von iPhones. Honor also has 3D face unlock.
I'd definitely recommend it for a mid user in 2023, I was one of the first who got this phone when it was released and still a good of a deal and iam using it as my prime phone with over 300 apps installed and iam using it for work, study photography etc.. And it's just great, even a flagship phone that time wouldn't even compare to poco f1, and iam using g cam and it's just enough for social media..
Yes, still use it as my daily main phone running on lineage bellerium android 13. It's still fast, reliable, never lets me down and battery life still good too. Really font of the gcam 8.6 so photos and videos are nice. Film in 4k and photo in 4032 X 3024 resolution for instance, nightmode, vr, integrated Google lens. I plan to keep using it until it dies!
Still using it after replacing the battery. Flagship killer definitely. The price, updates it gets from sub brand of Xiaomi is great. Some of the other phones didn't get such support & costs more!
still using f1 till today from the first launched in indonesia, i want to upgrade but i can not find a better camera with this price range, changed the internal battery twice, that is the only cons for me, battery..
I love my poco F1. I've been using it for 4 years but now i find some issues with it. Like, when i turn it on, it hangs for 2-3 minutes. And also, battery drains really faster now. Could you give me some tips about these issues. I get frustated mainly because of the hanging issues. I loved it 😞😞
I'm still using Pocophone f1 up to this day, but I am bothered because this phone always hang. It hangs twice in a day. Can someone help me with this issue? I wanna get rid of this.
I have the Armoured Edition 8/256. And jist today, Aug 3 2023 I had the battery replaced. Im planning to keep it until it really dies on me. Still on of the best phones I had. 👍🏼
I don't use my Poco F1 anymore, but I could if I wanted to. Well I'm not sure if 3G would work as well anymore. I may try it though one day just to see.
Used pocofone f1 for 4 years and got a new Pixel 6 10days ago. Man I really missed the face unlock and fast fingerprint scanner. Pixel 6 fingerprint scanner is so bad it doesn't even work most of the time. F1 has same camera as Pixel 3,4 and 5 and even 6a. A great phone.
I gave this phone to my dad, since he just using featured phone for a loooong time 🤣 got the f1 september 2018 too, I just replace the battery a weeks ago
It's march 25th 2023, and the F1 is still my phone, to this very moment. Bought it used in mid 2019. Screen is spatious and still looks great. Still opens apps quickly, and runs them like a champ. I think the backside fingerprint sensor is great, easy to press with sense of touch alone, no need to look at the phone (I actually miss it on new phones). Also missing on new phones: you can put this flat on a table. Still very customizable, and after 3.5 years use, I've tuned it to be an extremely powerful tool in my daily life. Splashed it numerous times, suffered 2 or 3 rough falls, no malfunctions. For my use, battery still lasts all day. But... pains me to say I'll be switching soon; battery will soon show it's age, security updates are 2 years old, and the usb port is getting janky. If it weren't for this, I would use this phone forever. The F1 is legendary phone, that allowed everyone on Earth know how it feels having the best phone on the planet in your hands.
