This video tutorial goes step-by-step to creating a triple mat technique that is often used in card stamping. Instead of stamping, we are using the pattern fill in Silhouette Studio to create our image and then using print and cut to create the final card. Join me in creating this stacked, triple mat technique using Silhouette Studio tools.

Elly Mae - I found your challenge when once again my purchased designs would no longer download - Oh my oh my - excellent information and it worked for me -- decided to check out your you tube challenge - this is an amazing tutorial - I also found that I can cut my black back with 3 of the metal Stitched dies I have in my stash - so this is a bonus for me - the print and cut and then using the dies for my black cardstock - thanks so much -- you are a great step by step teacher as well - have a blessed day

I found you by chance a couple days ago and I have to tell you, I’m totally addicted to your channel. I’ve even found you on Facebook and I follow you there. I’ve been using a silhouette for years for basic cuts and projects… This RU-vid video has been so cool. I’ve made at least 10 of these cards with different pictures in the last couple days. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Hi - Great tutorial, thank you. I would just add that since printer in is expensive, and the middle of the two larger prints in hidden by the upper layers, why not put a white rectangle in those places. Perhaps with a gradient fill of white to transparent to soften the edges. I'm going to use this wonderful idea to work with my craft class, and so when printing a dozen or so of these I should save some ink!

I was wondering if you could recommend some other patterns that would work well with this; either though pngWing images or elsewhere. Thanks again for a great video and instruction.
@SilhouetteSecrets
@SilhouetteSecrets Год назад
You could use patterns from where ever you find them - either the Silhouette Design Store or other sites that have patterns in png.

Can you use a silhouette file instead of a pattern fill
@SilhouetteSecrets
@SilhouetteSecrets 2 года назад
Yes, but to use this same technique you would have to save the file as a jpeg or png file first and then use that jpeg/png file as the pattern fill.

I am trying to do this with a png that I have in my files and it will not work. It works if I use one of my patterns in my library . I am opening a png into my work space and I cannot get it to fill in the squares. I was just wondering if I am doing something wrong?
@SilhouetteSecrets
@SilhouetteSecrets Год назад
How are you adding the png to the square? There are several ways you can do it. I show 3 different ways here.... #3 should work for you.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sDWh4gMvAHk.html

what would it take to be able to use this in Cricut? I saved as a svg but cricut said it was a really big file and never did open it.
@SilhouetteSecrets
@SilhouetteSecrets Год назад
You would have to use the Cricut tools. Draw a rectangle. Offset rectangle. Repeat. Add patterns to the rectangles, but I don't know how you would do it the same so it's lined up the same. I am a Silhouette Studio software expert buy limited on the Cricut Design Space knowledge.
@janetmenchyk9778
@janetmenchyk9778 Год назад
@@SilhouetteSecrets theres noway way to bring it into cricut? I saved as svg and it just said it was a large file and only brought in a line. You can save files to svg and bring them into cricut but this doesn't work
@SilhouetteSecrets
@SilhouetteSecrets Год назад
@@janetmenchyk9778 I don't think a pattern will save to the svg. The shapes should, but you may need to add the pattern in Cricut. Let is know how you do it when you figure it out!

@@SilhouetteSecrets just to let you know, i made one in DESIGN SPACE and it was easy and pattern did line up. Thanks for responding.
