I know this video is at least a year old but I just watched the part about the 'Karen' next door and all I can say is "sorry for their luck". You seem like you've taken the neighbors into consideration way more than most people would and at the end of the day, if it's not like midnight and a bunch of noise or something absurd like that, people just need to mind their own business! Anyway, rant about people over! I'm late, but really enjoying the build series so far!! Thanks for the vids. Now I need to go work on my '76 Corvette project!
Haha! When I saw you out in the driveway with that DA I immediately thought- wow? Michal has some tolerant neighbors 'cause that's got to be LOUD ;-) --- I guess not so tolerant after all right!?! I really like the room-within-a-room for work like that better for a neighborhood anyway- keeps the dust and noise with you and if you seal it right it's not too terrible to clean up either. Also- can't wait to see ore good shots of that rear engine hood scoop- I think that's my favorite part of the build so far- just SUCH a good idea to pull inspiration from a VW hood lift- but still have a closed hood! LOVE that!
The car looks incredible already. You could stop painting now and it would look fantastic. Can't wait to see how great it looks when it's finished. Great video, thanks.
Haha, as soon I saw you in that drive way I thought "man, he must have good neighbours!" ... A few moments later ... "ahh, I guess not." Hope the cop wasn't too harsh. Not painting the engine bay/froot? I know it's white right now, as it was destined to be a race car. I spent more time than I care to remember on my back, cleaning, scuffing and painting the underside and other hidden areas of my 911SC, just to make sure it was all solid, rust free and protected for the foreseeable future. Lunacy, I know... Greetings from Oz.
Rennen, what a Build, i actually can’t believe it’s been 65 top tier installments to this epic build. I was born in the “Land of the Autobahn” and I truly enjoy this “blasphemy build” also as a side note, your lil’ Chris Fix homage with his “check this out” EPIC! You’ve gained so much, been a sub since you’ve been in the breakthrough of 1K subs…. Keep rocking man! Best wishes from the North of the West Cost!
Looking Awesome!! Please use caution if you mark spots with a sharpie,, if you don’t remove All of that ink it will bleed through a gillion layers of primer and show up in your top coat, try using pieces of tape to mark your areas needing extra work 👍👍👍
Huge milestone !!! You nailed the body work!! I’m glad that you took the time to show us how the car can look in primer when the time is spent on doing the metal work correctly
You need to go to the city and get a permite to replace a window then you can pound, grind and sand all day long between 7 to 5. Ha! Then again that's probably a $1500 permit in CA. Looking great.
She looks GOOD ! You must be so proud of how it’s coming along Michael, vision becoming reality. Outstanding 👍🙂 Also, Karens are the worst and they are everywhere. Sorry to hear you have one so close by ☹️
Having followed you all the way it’s great to see the car in one colour. Great work buddy and big milestone achieved. I’ve sent the boys round to Karen over the road…. Miserable cow! Paul
🖐️🖐️🖐️ Myy wife and I are going to Luft. It would be great if you had a rallying area at Luft so we could see YOU and see ALL those who watch your build. How are you going to let ALL of us viewers of your show know that you will have something at Luft?
Looks like you've taken to a spray gun well. You're a natural. Not everyone can even do primer. I wonder on that batch that started to spray rough if it had reached its pot life. BTW, you can take those cheap HF guns completely apart and 'blueprint' them with a set of numbered size drill bits, some used as a de-burring tool (oversized and just reaming the outer edge of each hole). Not a whole lot of difference from the HF gun to a $300+ gun other than the workmanship when manufacturing. If the flow needle is in the center of the fluid nozzle and the air cap holes are chased with a good bit, Bob's your uncle.
We are back from Luft and the other fun event at the Indy 500 race track put on by Porsche Club of America. Didn't see you! or any group pretending to be you! What happened to you, you said you were going? And as a side punch... I think we all (those watching this build) are wondering when the next video will show up. It has been 1 day- a full month. "A garage without a Porsche is just a dark hole" - Walter Rohrl - Porsce Development
I saw Jeff gave you a shoutout on a recent epsiode, nice to see you return the favor. lol. Karen's suck. Was it at night? In our area the noise ordinances don't kick in til 10pm.
Not sure if you have been following Retropower on RU-vid, they do great ‘resto mod’ builds. They pointed out all the videos etc showing grafting panels using the spot weld technique is wrong, just minimize heat input (correct welder amperage and wire feed or TIG settings) and just weld the joint, you get a better weld, stronger and no pin holes and less grinding etc, you end up with the same or less heat input and the resulting warping, just massage it out (dolly/shrink/heat/cool)… This is my experience as well. Might be worth trying?
@@rennch. No, not lap, butt welds like on your fender flares, and seem weld instead of spotting. Just manage heat input through using fine welding wire, speed (weld quickly) and use a Mix gas 75% Argon / 25% CO2, it helps stop burn through and better looking welds that straight CO2
Hey Mike, new viewer here. Just finished watching (binge watching, but still watching) the whole series (yes, all 65 episodes) and man, what a journey! You've done an amazing work so far, especially considering you've never done this kind of stuff before and you're no professional either! Can't wait for the next episode and to see the car finished eventually! P.s.: fuck that Karen.
I have to say it's amazing how you guys are allowed to work in your driveways. Or municipal laws prohibit that greatly. W can park our cars there but we are never allowed to do any "dirty" work there, the city will give you a slap. I don't mean change flat tire or something like that. But job well done.
High Five! Great video. Neighbors suck. Are there rules that you can't make noise? What if you were working on your house? What are you going to do with the interior as far as prep goes?
I think you have pretty understanding neighbours with all the back yard painting just a couple of feet away from their properties. I would have insisted that you build a booth that filters out the overspray.
That’s why I don’t live in a pretty neighborhood when I bought my house I could’ve afforded a nice house in a gated community told the realtor nope I want it in the hood basically we have parties when we want we work on our cars we hang out with their neighbors we do fireworks when we want whatever screw those prissy neighborhoods plus it’s way cheaper
I love your channel, but thank fuck you don’t live near me. The noise would of driven me crazy, and if you have only just had a word from the police I would count yourself lucky.
