Using the Lumix G9 Mk2 I go to France to film the Flamingos in the Camargue.

In the Camargue in Southern France there is a bird park called the Parc Ornithologique de Pont de Gau.

It is a wonderful place to photograph and film the Greater flamingo. They are very approachable here and the setting attractive. Grey herons are also common and easy to get close to.
I use the Lumix G9 Mk2 and do very little stills photography. It is nearly all video.

Greetings from Texas. My favorite bird is the Reddish Egret, it's considered the swashbuckling cousin of the dignified herons. It's the most entertaining bird I've seen in the wild and was the one that sparked my love for bird photography. I'm finding that photos don't really do the Reddish Egret justice, so my interest in video is increasing. That's how I came across your wonderful channel. If you ever have a chance to visit the US Gulf Coast or Caribbean, I would suggest adding the Reddish Egret to your bucket list.

Super video footage Mike. Excellent results using the G9 mark ii 😊. I will be buying this camera shortly and currently looking at Panasonic / Lumix 50 - 200mm lens particularly for my wildlife video. Although OM-Systems have had a similar lens on their road map for several years now there has been no development. The only slight issue with the Panasonic lens is that their micro 4/3rds x1.4TC is no longer produced which would have given a near perfect 70 - 280mm video lens. Keep on posting your great hands on footage 👌😊

Yes it was I can remember the coypu man on the marshes- full time job then, low paid no doubt, mink mostly gone around here and it was a hotspot. @@MikeLaneFRPS

I can see some fantastic opportunities for portraits and still shots with all those water beads falling down as the birds stand up after bathing. I saw my first Flamingoes in a zoo in Hawaii. They certainly are an odd-looking species. I don't remember Cattle Egrets or Little Egrets in the UK.

beautiful teaching from you about the glory and wonder of our beautiful planet with such lovely life upon it - I guess that the flamingos in the Camargue are decreasing ?? Perhaps not -- maybe you could mention briefly what's happening to them worldwide -- Your sensitive observation I link to the need to save our beautiful planet -- we need a stronger green movement worldwide with year by year progress thank you we must fight to save what we can

Hi Mike, thanks for the video. It is interesting you find them kind of ugly. Around South East Queensland we have at least two birds that fit that category. One is the magpie goose. A large water bird that looks almost majestic at a distance but ugly close up. The other is the white ibis, affectionately known as the bin chicken. In the wild again quite majestic and clean, foraging in bins they are dirty and ugly. The straw necked ibis always looks more regal to me and does less scavengers around bins. I would love to see a flamingo 🦩 ❤

I will buy an OM1 mark 2 at some point, but no rush as the spec is not very exciting. Very unlikely I will buy the new lenses.

The orange front teeth are striking, I have seen a similair animal swiming in Florence, and again here in the Rhine here in Cologne, but without the orange teeth. At first, thought they were giant rats.

Muskrats maybe, although they have orange teeth, but not so obvious.
