Hi Craig, like your vids very helpful! Thanks for posting! I am going to try my first investment casting, can you reccomend how thick should the investment should be between the flask and part?
If too thin you may have a blowout where either the metal slams into the end of the mold breaking through or the vacuum actually sucks the investment and or metal into the casting unit. To prevent this it depends on the thickness of the item being cast so if tiny and thin it could be a minimum of 3/8 inch and heavier items 1/2 inch or more. Follow the manufacturers recommendations of the investment for water to investment ratio so it isn't mixed too thin.
